Titans | Derek Hagan likely third WR Tue Dec 2, 05:52 PM
Tennessee Titans WR Derek Hagan is likely to join WRs Kendall Wright and Nate Washington as one of the top-three receivers now that WR Justin Hunter (spleen) is done for the year, starting in Week 14 against the New York Giants. Hagan had been working on special teams and as the team's fourth wideout. He played 32 snaps on offense and caught two passes for 39 yards in Week 13. WR Kris Durham is a young alternative, but the team isn't very high on him, he's not fast, and he's been inactive for 10 games. In the two games Durham was active, he didn't even play a single snap.
Footballguys view: We've got to give it up to Hagan. He's bounced around the league for years despite not being the most gifted player. He's fast and runs clean routes, but Hagan has difficulty with concentration at times. There's no fantasy value to be had here, even in dynasty leagues. |

Titans | Derek Hagan has impressive offseason Tue Jul 8, 04:04 PM
Tennessee Titans WR Derek Hagan has had an impressive offseason, and could be in the running for a roster spot if he continues to impress in training camp. 'It is wide open, and that is what this coaching staff has been telling me,' Hagan said. 'When your number is called, do your job the right way, and that is what I have been known to do, and that is why I have been able to last in this league for so long.
Footballguys view: Hagan has the physical attributes the NFL loves in a wide receiver, but his hands have been too inconsistent to lock down a long-term job anywhere during his career. He won't have any prospective fantasy value even if he makes the team, but it could be at the expense of Brian Robiskie, another once highly touted receiver trying to revive his career. |

Titans | One signed, one cut Tue Jun 17, 10:39 AM
The Tennessee Titans signed free-agent WR Derek Hagan (Buccaneers) to an undisclosed deal. WR Lamont Bryant was waived.
Footballguys view: Hagan was once considered a starting quality WR prospect, but inconsistent hands did in the otherwise talented receiver. The Titans are far from settled in the 4 and 5 spots on the WR depth chart, so Hagan could revive his career with a great summer. |

Chargers | Receivers work out Tue Oct 1, 10:06 AM
The San Diego Chargers worked out free-agent WRs David Nelson (Browns), Austin Collie (Colts), Lavelle Hawkins (49ers), Derek Hagan (Buccaneers) and Matt Willis (Lions).
Footballguys view: There's no word on if any of these guys will be signed by the Chargers. They may just be updating their emergency list at the WR position. Willis does have experience with Mike McCoy dating back to their time together with the Denver Broncos. |

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have waived WR Carlton Mitchell, WR Chris Owusu and DE Markus White. The team also released FB Spencer Larsen, WR Derek Hagan and SS Troy Nolan.

Buccaneers | Sign Derek Hagan Thu Jun 13, 02:33 PM
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed WR Derek Hagan (Raiders) Thursday, June 13. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Hagan is a solid veteran receiver but his fantasy stock (even in super deep dynasty leagues) is virtually non-existent. His roster spot isn't guaranteed and he'll fight for a depth position on the team in training camp. |

Oakland Raiders WR Darrius Heyward-Bey led the team in receiving in Week 16 against the Carolina Panthers, and he had just two grabs for 31 yards. The passing game struggled once QB Carson Palmer (ribs) went down early in the game and was replaced by QB Matt Leinart. WR Derek Hagan had one grab for 19 yards, WR Rod Streater had two snares for 16 yards and WR Denarius Moore was limited to three catches for 12 yards.

Raiders | Rod Streater, Derek Hagan could see lots of time Sat Nov 17, 08:10 AM
Oakland Raiders WRs Rod Streater and Derek Hagan will likely play a lot in Week 11 if WR Darrius Heyward-Bey (hamstring) is unable to go.
Footballguys view: Streater is an interesting rookie to keep an eye on here. He has good downfield speed and can make difficult catches down the sideline. It's a great matchup against the Saints and with an expanded role we see Streater as a 'what the heck' flex in deeper leagues. |

Raiders | Carson Palmer key to Week 3 win Wed Sep 26, 08:54 AM
Oakland Raiders WR Derek Hagan said the Pittsburgh Steelers defense in Week 3 was predictable, and he credited QB Carson Palmer for picking the scheme apart. 'They pretty much did the same thing that they did six, seven years ago when he was playing with Cincinnati,' Hagan said of Palmer. 'Obviously, they've got a legendary D-coordinator over there. He's been running certain things that other teams have seen, that we've seen. We knew their tendencies and we were able to hit them with some big plays when it really counted.'

Raiders | Denarius Moore is best of team's WRs in Week 2 Sun Sep 16, 11:30 PM
Oakland Raiders WR Denarius Moore (hamstring) made his season debut in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins. He led all of the team's wideouts with 67 yards on three receptions. WR Darrius Heyward-Bey was second at the position with four catches for 41 yards, and WR Rod Streater managed two catches for 19 yards. WR Derek Hagan was also on the stat sheet with one snare for 10 yards, but neither of the wideouts found the end zone.
Footballguys view: Moore left with cramps, at least we hope the Raiders were being truthful about the reason that he left. With no other receiver earning a lot of targets via strong play, Moore could level off at an upside WR3 play this year with Carson Palmer - if he can stay healthy. |

Raiders | Derek Hagan, Darrius Heyward-Bey lead wideouts Tue Sep 11, 01:54 AM
Oakland Raiders WR Derek Hagan had four receptions for 44 yards, while WR Darrius Heyward-Bey had three grabs for 43 yards in Week 1 against the San Diego Chargers. The two were the top two wide receivers in yardage with WRs Jacoby Ford (foot) and Denarius Moore (hamstring) inactive.
Footballguys view: Heyward-Bey continued to be inconsistent and didn't show up big against the Chargers coverage. Hagan is an effective underneath receiver but offers little after the catch. |

The Buffalo Bills have released WRs Kamar Aiken, Derek Hagan, Ruvell Martin and Naaman Roosevelt.

Buffalo Bills WR Derek Hagan continues to draw praise from head coach Chan Gailey. 'He's working his tail off and pushing to be a big part of this offense,' Gailey said Thursday, Aug. 2.
Footballguys view: Hagan could do more to make it so there is no wide receiver worth rostering other than Stevie Johnson than he can to make himself a fantasy relevant player. Great for his career, but muddying the waters of the Bills receiving corps from a fantasy perspective. |

Bills | Derek Hagan trying to impress Tue Jul 31, 10:48 PM
Buffalo Bills WR Derek Hagan had a strong performance in practice Tuesday, July 31. He is one of several players vying for the No. 2 wide receiver job opposite WR Stevie Johnson.
Footballguys view: Hagan is steady, but not spectacular, as long as his hands are reliable. He should make the team and see time in three and four-wide sets, but he's just a role player. |

Mark Gaughan, from the Buffalo News, reports Bills WR Derek Hagan is working with the first-team while Stevie Johnson recovers from offseason groin surgery.
Footballguys view: Hagan started opposite Donald Jones as the Bills first-team offense put in their work. David Nelson is working as the team's slot WR, and deep dynasty league owners shouldn't forget about Marcus Easley. Injuries have kept him from playing up to his potential, but he's arguably the most athletically talented out of the Bills WR behind Johnson. |

Despite leading the team in receiving yardage during the preseason, Oakland Raiders WR Derek Hagan was inactive for Week 1. Head coach Hue Jackson said Hagan will have to earn playing time. 'What he did in the preseason gave him an opportunity to be on this football team,' Jackson said. 'It did not make him the starting receiver on this football team. So, let's make sure we understand where I was with Hagan ... Performance is what matters, and that's what got him on the team. That's where it starts first. Raiders | Starting WRs not yet named Tue Sep 6, 09:36 AM
Oakland Raiders head coach Hue Jackson is not yet ready to name his starting wide receivers for Week 1. Based on performance in practice and preseason games, it appears clear that rookie WR Denarius Moore and WR Derek Hagan deserve to start. Jackson did add it is imperative to find ways to get Moore the football. 'Let him catch balls,' Jackson said. 'That's what he does. He catches footballs. Put him in position to make plays. That's what you do. You take all this talent that we have. You got to take all these guys and give them opportunities to make plays in games. And he's done it, and he's one of the guys that knows how, so we'll give him opportunities to do so.'
Footballguys view: Moore was an exciting late-round pick to gamble on in fantasy leagues, and he could start off the season in the starting lineup. We're not expecting the Raiders passing game to light up the league, but Moore makes for a decent WR4 or flex option in deeper leagues. |
