Jaguars | Chris Conley thriving Fri Jun 14, 10:16 AM
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Chris Conley has been the best receiver in the team's organized team activities and minicamp. He has grown a rapport with QB Nick Foles, and Conley could emerge as the team's top receiver.
|Footballguys view: Foles recruited Conley so this isn't a shock. It isn't like the Jaguars have an entrenched #1 receiver. He's probably not worth a pick yet, but if this continues through camp and the preseason, Conley will land on our late round radar.|

Jaguars | Leonard Fournette to excel with Nick Foles? Thu Jun 13, 08:49 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette will be a big part of the passing game with QB Nick Foles in 2019, according to ESPN's Michael DiRocco.
|Footballguys view: Nick Foles will improve the passing game, which should trickle down to improve Fournette's value in PPR leagues. The Jaguars seemed to be losing patience with him, but if Fournette can stay on the field, he'll likely provide second-round value at a third-round price.|

Jaguars | Quincy Williams signs rookie deal Wed Jun 12, 12:40 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars third-round pick LB Quincy Williams signed his rookie contract Wednesday, June 12. Financial terms weren't disclosed on the four-year deal.
|Footballguys view: Graded by some to be a late-round pick, the Jaguars like Williams enough to take him in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft. The younger brother of No. 3 overall pick Quinnen Williams, Quincy is an athletic tackling machine who has WILL skill set in the NFL. He's been getting some first-team reps in practice this offseason, and the Jaguars may have been ahead of the curve when it comes to evaluating the young linebacker.|
Jaguars | No contract for Jalen Ramsey Tue Jun 11, 11:19 AM
Jacksonville Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey said he was informed he will not receive a new contract this year.
|Footballguys view: Ramsey is under contract with the Jaguars for two more years since they picked up his fifth-year option back in April. He had been staying away from voluntary workouts but he did report to mandatory minicamp this week.|

Jaguars | Joshua Allen to miss minicamp Thu Jun 6, 10:43 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars DE Joshua Allen (knee) is expected to miss the three-day minicamp, according to head coach Doug Marrone.
|Footballguys view: Allen has a knee bruise and the team is being careful with him. The 2019 first-round pick should be a force to be reckoned with once healthy and getting after the passer.|

Jaguars | Ryquell Armstead injury update Thu Jun 6, 07:27 PM
Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars RB Ryquell Armstead (hamstring) suffered a slight hamstring injury during practice Tuesday, June 5, but likely will be sidelined until training camp, according to head coach Doug Marrone.
|Footballguys view: A fifth-round pick out of Temple in the 2019 NFL draft, Armstead is a chain-moving running back who strikes a defense with great determination and heart. Armstead is not much of a receiving threat and makes his keep by grinding out tough yards between the tackles with instinct and power. He's competing for a spot on the depth chart behind Leonard Fournette and may win the primary backup job if he looks better than veteran Alfred Blue. It's an important spot for Fantasy GMs to monitor as Fournette gets banged up quite a bit. We'll see if Armstead can get healthy and impress in training camp.|
Jaguars | Josh Allen could miss minicamp Thu Jun 6, 01:55 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars DE Josh Allen (knee) likely will miss the team's minicamp next week with a knee bruise, it was reported Thursday, June 6.
|Footballguys view: The Jaguars are getting their first-round pick ready for training camp. They won't have him out there during minicamp, but a bruise should not prevent him from fully participating later in the summer.|

Jaguars | Taj McGowan signs with Jaguars Wed Jun 5, 02:54 PM
Undrafted free-agent RB Taj McGowan (Central Florida) signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars Wednesday, June 5. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. The team also waived DT Khairi Clark.
|Footballguys view: McGowan is a one-speed runner with quick feet. He doesn't stand out with speed but can change direction smoothly in traffic. McGowan was not used much as a receiver in college with only 16 career catches at UCF. Undrafted this year, McGowan went to rookie minicamp with the Jaguars and the Giants. He'll have to make the 53-man roster by standing out on special teams.|

Free-agent WR Terrelle Pryor (Bills) signed a one-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars Thursday, May 30. Financial terms were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Pryor had a breakout season with the Browns but that seems like eons ago. It was 2016 and Pyror is now on his fourth team since then. There's a chance he could make the team as a fourth or fifth option for the Jaguars.|

Jaguars | Josh Allen to play DE Thu May 30, 11:37 AM
Jacksonville Jaguars LB Joshua Allen was drafted to play at defensive end, according to defensive coordinator Todd Wash.
|Footballguys view: Allen is a prototypical EDGE player who can get around would-be blockers with bend and burst. He's going to be tasked with getting after the quarterback early and often. Allen does have athleticism to be used in coverage but that's not what he does best.|
Jaguars | Terrelle Pryor coming to JAX Thu May 30, 08:00 AM
Free-agent WR Terrelle Pryor (Bills) is expected to sign an undisclosed deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars Thursday, May 30.
|Footballguys view: Pryor had a breakout year for the Browns in 2016 and then pretty much nothing after that. He's bounced around to now four different teams in that time but gets a new start (another one) with the Jaguars. Pryor now is trying to make it with a Jaguars team that has a deep WR corps. He's competing for a roster spot behind guys like Marqise Lee, Dede Westbrook, D.J. Chark and Keelan Cole.|

Jaguars | Terrelle Pryor working out for Jaguars Wed May 29, 02:43 PM
Free-agent WR Terrelle Pryor (Bills) is working out for the Jacksonville Jaguars Wednesday, May 29, according to sources.
|Footballguys view: Pryor has struggled to stay healthy and impress since his breakout season with the Browns back in 2016. He's bounced around to three different teams since that time and has only played in 17 games since then. We'll see if he can show that he's healthy and still get a shot with the Jaguars or some other team in the NFL.|

Jaguars | Alfred Blue misses practice Tue May 28, 12:51 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Alfred Blue was absent from the team's OTA workouts Tuesday, May 28, for an unspecified, non-medical reason.
|Footballguys view: Blue gets a fresh start this year with the Jaguars after some ups-and-downs with the Texans over the last few years. Behind starter Leonard Fournette, guys like Thomas Rawls, Benny Cunningham, Ryquell Armstead and Blue will compete to establish a pecking order. If healthy, Blue might win the backup job to Fournette. This is a competition Fantasy GMs need to be dialed in on due to Fournette's history of nagging injuries that force him to miss time.|

Jaguars | Nick Foles absent Tue May 28, 11:10 AM
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Nick Foles is absent from organized team activities Tuesday, May 28, for personal reasons.
|Footballguys view: No word yet on why Foles is missing time, but no timetable has been given for his return according to Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone. Mike Garafolo, from NFL Network, has reported that Foles could return by the end of the week. Stay tuned.|

Jaguars | Lyndon Johnson in a boot Fri May 24, 09:29 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars DT Lyndon Johnson (foot) remains in a walking boot following offseason foot surgery but is expected to be ready for training camp, according to a league source.
|Footballguys view: The presidential defensive tackle made the team's roster late last year after going undrafted and spending time on their practice squad. He'll battle seventh round pick Dontavius Russell among others for a spot on the 53 this year.|
Jaguars | Dede Westbrook misses practice Fri May 24, 07:36 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Friday, May 24, because of general soreness. Head coach Doug Marrone said he expects Westbrook to practice next week.
|Footballguys view: Westbrook has a chance to be the leading receiver again this year with Marqise Lee still recovering from a torn ACL. Nick Foles recruited Chris Conley to the team after the two spent time together on the Chiefs roster, so he could be competition, along with 2018 second-round pick DJ Chark and Keelan Cole, who seemed to fall out of favor last year.|

Jaguars | Jacksonville counting on Leonard Fournette Fri May 24, 12:45 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette is being counted on to have a big season in 2019. 'We're really looking forward to Leonard having a big year,' offensive coordinator John DeFilippo said this week, via the team's official website. 'I'm going to call it what it is: He's going to be a major reason where our offense goes. I'm not going to sugarcoat that. Leonard Fournette needs to be a big part of this offense. The harder he works -- which he is right now -- that's going to be not only good for our offense, but good for our team.'
|Footballguys view: We're not sure if counting on Fournette is a wise idea. Sure, he's a talented runner who can produce with the best in the game but that's not the full story. Fournette seems to be a player who is a '100 percenter' meaning that he needs to be at full strength to perform at a high level and not like other players who can grind -- and produce -- while dealing with nagging injuries. Perhaps with Nick Foles at quarterback we see a rejuvenated Fournette and he puts up RB1 numbers...and stays healthy of course.|

Jaguars | Joshua Allen puts pen to paper Thu May 23, 02:38 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars first-round DE/LB Joshua Allen (Kentucky) signed a four-year contract that includes a fifth-year team option Thursday, May 23. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Allen knows how to get after the quarterback. He's got the bend-and-burst ability to get around the corner and get into a QB's kitchen. Allen does a good job of running through the sack and understands how to quickly diagnose plays and blocking schemes. He is strong enough to set the edge and fast enough to be used in coverage against tight ends if called upon. Allen has all the makings of a star in the Jaguars defense.|
Jaguars | Josh Allen dealing with knee contusion Thu May 23, 12:39 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars LB Josh Allen was held out of a minicamp practice Thursday, May 23, to work on the side with the training and medical staff as he deals with a knee contusion.
|Footballguys view: The Jaguars got an exciting young pass rusher when they added Allen in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft. His bend and burst ability around the edge and nose for the quarterback should make him a player to reckon with early and often. It sounds like this knee contusion is no big deal with Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone classifying Allen's injury as 'nothing major.'|

Free-agent RB Mike Gillislee (Saints) worked out for the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday, May 16.
|Footballguys view: The Jaguars are just updating their emergency list here. They already have guys like Alfred Blue, Benny Cunningham and Ryquell Armstead (oh yeah, Thomas Rawls too) to compete for the reserve spots behind starter Leonard Fournette.|

Jaguars | Jags add pair of UDFAs Sun May 12, 01:45 PM
Undrafted rookie free-agents TE Michael Colubiale and CB Jocquez Kalili signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, May 12.
|Footballguys view: Colubiale is an undersized tight end with great speed. He was originally a walk-on, so he knows how to beat long odds.|
Jaguars | Charles Jones signs with Jacksonville Sun May 12, 12:28 PM
Rookie free-agent TE Charles Jones was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, May 12, after impressing during a recent rookie camp tryout.
|Footballguys view: Jones is an athletic but raw receiving tight end prospect who will try to make his mark while the team is expecting third-round pick Josh Oliver to win the long-term receiving tight end job.|
Jaguars | Two UDFAs join Jaguars Sat May 11, 07:00 PM
Undrafted free-agent OT Jordan Agasiva (Utah) and S Joshua Moon (Georgia Southern) agreed to terms with the Jacksonville Jaguars Saturday, May 11, according to a source. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Agasiva is a mauler who fits well with the Jaguars running game and could provide much needed depth at guard. He was an all-Pac 12 selection this year after transferring from Pima Community College.|
Jaguars | Team supporting Telvin Smith Fri May 10, 01:56 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars LB Telvin Smith, who announced he is planning on taking a leave from football for the 2019 season to deal with personal issues, has the backing of head coach Doug Marrone and the team. 'I really believe in my heart that Telvin knows that we're here to support him in any which way,' Marrone said as part of a statement released Friday, May 10.
|Footballguys view: Whatever is going on with Smith, we hope it resolves well for him. Surprise third-round pick Quincy Williams will be one of the best candidates to replace him. #3 overall pick Quinnen's little brother might be an instant hit in IDP leagues.|
Telvin Smith Sr player page
Jaguars | Jacksonville cuts two more Fri May 10, 02:24 AM
Jacksonville Jaguars FB Dimitri Flowers and OL Parker Ehinger were released Thursday, May 9.
|Footballguys view: Once upon a time Ehinger was a rookie starter after the Chiefs took him in the fourth round in 2016. He has battled injuries and failed to stick with the Cowboys after he was traded for Charvarius Ward last summer. He was recently released by Dallas and claimed by Jacksonville, but barely lasted a month on their roster.|
Jaguars | Jacksonville finalizes UDFA signings Thu May 9, 11:13 PM
The Jacksonville Jaguars signed undrafted free-agent WR Tyre Brady (Marshall), WR Raphael Leonard (Southern Illinois), WR Dredrick Snelson (UCF), WR Michael Walker (Boston College), WR Papi White (Ohio), CB Tae Hayes (Appalachian State), CB Picasso Nelson Jr. (Southern Mississippi), CB Saivion Smith (Alabama), CB Brandon Watson (Michigan), CB Marquez Sanford (Murray State), DT Khairi Clark (Florida), DT Andrew Williams (Auburn), DT Roderick Young (North Texas), S Andrew Wingard (Wyoming), S Zedrick Woods (Mississippi), LB Joe Giles-Harris (Duke), LB Connor Strachan (Boston College), OL Donnell Greene (Minnesota), OG Bunchy Stallings (Kentucky), TE Carson Meier (Oklahoma) and DE Shane Bowman (Washington) Thursday, May 9.
|Footballguys view: Brady is a big receiver who is good at the catch point and should be considered the most likely undrafted receiver to make the roster. Giles-Harris was highly productive in college and could impress with Telvin Smith out for the season (at least) and win a spot. Smith was a starter for the Alabama defense and could have a chance to make the team with the Jaguars drafting no corners this year.|
Jaguars | Ryquell Armstead signs rookie deal Thu May 9, 10:25 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Ryquell Armstead signed a four-year deal Thursday, May 9. Financial terms of the contract were not immediately available.
|Footballguys view: Armstead has speed and toughness as an inside runner. He hasn't done much as a receiver, but should be able to push Alfred Blue to back up Leonard Fournette and be poised to benefit if Fournette falls out of favor with the coaching staff.|
Jaguars | Josh Oliver inks with Jags Thu May 9, 08:57 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars TE Josh Oliver signed his four-year rookie deal Thursday, May 9.. Financial terms of the contract were undisclosed.
|Footballguys view: Oliver might take a little bit to hit his stride coming from outside of the power five conferences, but he's a receiving tight end first and could be a big winner from Nick Foles taking over at quarterback with a lack of established targets at wide receiver and everyone starting from scratch in creating chemistry with Foles.|
Jaguars | Jawaan Taylor signs rookie deal Thu May 9, 08:53 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars OT Jawaan Taylor signed his four-year rookie deal Thursday, May 9, according to sources. Financial terms of the contract were undisclosed.
|Footballguys view: Taylor will be a day one starter at right tackle and improve an offensive line that dropped in quality considerably last year. Some had him as high as a top 10 pick, so the Jaguars were lucky to get him in the second, and he has said that any medical report about his knee or back that caused his fall is false.|
Jaguars | Gardner Minshew inks pact with Jacksonville Thu May 9, 05:41 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars sixth-round QB Gardner Minshew (Washington State) signed a four-year contract on Thursday, May 9. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Minshew is a smart quarterback who can accurately distribute the ball on short-to-intermediate throws. He doesn't have a big arm but he gets by on pre-snap reads and getting rid of the ball quickly. The rookie from Washington State could end up winning the primary backup job behind Nick Foles in 2019.|
