Dolphins | Cordrea Tankersley drafted by Miami Fri Apr 28, 11:16 PM
The Miami Dolphins selected Cordrea Tankersley with the 97th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Was a very effective cover corner, but his overall technique and transitions leave something to be desired. He has really good size, ran a 4.4 at the Combine and had eight interceptions in college, so there is potential to be very good down the road.|

Dolphins | Charles Harris to be moved around Thu Apr 27, 11:56 PM
Miami Dolphins DE Charles Harris can move inside and serve as an interior pass-rusher on third downs, according to general manager Chris Grier.
|Footballguys view: The Dolphins needed someone to bring some more pressure, and Harris is going to be a big help when they kick him inside. He should be successful across from Cameron Wade as well.|
Dolphins | Miami selects Charles Harris Thu Apr 27, 10:42 PM
The Miami Dolphins selected Missouri DE Charles Harris with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Thursday, April 27.
|Footballguys view: We're a little surprised the Dolphins didn't go offensive line with Forrest Lamp on the board and a need for him. That said, they want to take down the Patriots and Harris can penetrate and get after the quarterback.|

Dolphins | Julius Thomas feeling good Sat Apr 22, 01:55 PM
Miami Dolphins TE Julius Thomas told the Florida Times-Union recently this spring 'is probably the best I've ever felt' and that head coach Adam Gase's offense 'feels a lot like home'.
|Footballguys view: Thomas is a weapon, and he can certainly be a TD hog for the Dolphins in 2017. He's never played a full 16-game season in the pros, so we'll be shocked if this is his first. Thomas is a TE1 for fantasy owners, but he comes with injury risk.|

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry reports to workouts Mon Apr 17, 11:05 AM
Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry reported to voluntary workouts Monday, April 17.
|Footballguys view: Landry is looking for a contract extension, and he certainly deserves on given the incredibly high level of production he's had as a pro. He's taking the team-first approach here, and we feel the Dolphins will eventually reward him with a deal that pays him more than $10 million annually.|

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry is expected to eventually come to an agreement on a long-term deal, but he is unlikely to receive a contract extension over the weekend before the start of the team's offseason program Monday, April 17, according to ESPN's James Walker.
|Footballguys view: The team has time, but the sooner the better with Landry. A second-round pick in 2014, Landry is entering the final year of his rookie contract. Landry has been incredibly productive with 289 receptions in three years. He is due $893,852 in the final year of his rookie contract.|

Dolphins | David Njoku visits Dolphins Tue Apr 11, 10:54 AM
Miami (Fla.) TE David Njoku met with the Miami Dolphins Monday, April 10.
|Footballguys view: The Dolphins traded for Julius Thomas earlier this year, but they could still add a talent like Njoku. The Hurricanes prospect compares closely to Greg Olsen (Panthers) because of his size and ability to make clutch catches. Njoku may be a first- or second-round pick in the 2017 NFL draft.|
Dolphins | Jalen Tabor visiting Dolphins Tue Apr 11, 10:54 AM
Florida CB Jalen Tabor is visiting the Miami Dolphins Tuesday, April 11.
|Footballguys view: Tabor has a great nose for the football and does a good job of finding his way to the play consistently. He's got the size (6' 199 pounds) to jam receivers at the line of scrimmage, and Tabor does bring some thunder when he hits. Tabor doesn't have great straight-line speed, so if he gets out of position it can lead to a big play for the opponent. We should see Tabor go off the board as a second-round pick.|

Dolphins | Coach expects Leonte Carroo to improve Sun Apr 9, 06:51 PM
Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase said he believes WR Leonte Carroo can play better next season after struggling in 2016. Gase said he thinks he may have asked Carroo to do too much this season when he wanted Carroo to learn all three receiver positions.
|Footballguys view: We've got our eyes on Carroo in dynasty leagues. A third-round pick in 2016, Carroo only made it onto the field for ten or more snaps in four games as a rookie. With the addition of TE Julius Thomas, Carroo is going to have a hard time finding a fantasy relevant role. The talent is there, but dynasty owners will have to be patient.|

Dolphins | Miami adds David Fales Wed Apr 5, 03:49 PM
Free-agent QB David Fales (Bears) agreed to terms with the Miami Dolphins Friday, April 5, according to a source. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Fales has a weak arm but he has great anticipation as a passer. He'll work as a camp arm behind Ryan Tannehill and Matt Moore. The Dolphins still have Brandon Doughty (seventh-round pick out of Western Kentucky in 2016) on the roster too.|
Dolphins | Haason Reddick on Dolphins' radar Wed Apr 5, 02:18 PM
Temple LB Haason Reddick is receiving significant interest from the Miami Dolphins and is scheduled to have a visit or a private workout with the Dolphins before the 2017 NFL Draft.Link to story

Dolphins | Julius Thomas expected to make difference Mon Apr 3, 10:54 PM
Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase said TE Julius Thomas is 'going to make a little bit of a difference for us.' Gase also said he has a 'good idea' of what the club wants to do on offense with him.
|Footballguys view: Thomas was sluggish last year and failed to make a consistent impact on offense for the Jaguars. He'll have a chance to be the primary receiving tight end in Miami, but the offense is run-first with three good wide receivers, so he is unlikely to be more than a bye/injury fill-in for 2017 fantasy leagues.|

Dolphins | Xavien Howard facing hurdles Sun Apr 2, 10:23 PM
Miami Dolphins CB Xavien Howard has Pro Bowl potential, according to head coach Adam Gase, but Howard has to stay healthy and learn new defensive concepts that he didn't encounter while playing in Big 12. 'You know, the conference he came from and they're so spread out and you know I mean it's wide open passing game and when you get in the NFL, all of the sudden, you start getting these stacks and bunches and teams are doing all these types of bunches, some of these things he's never seen before,' Gase said.Link to story

Dolphins | Miami worked out Malik McDowell Sun Apr 2, 06:34 PM
Michigan State DT Malik McDowell had a private workout with Miami Dolphins defensive line coach Terrell Williams last week.
|Footballguys view: McDowell could be a first-round pick in the 2017 NFL draft...and he could be a dominate player at the pro level. Emphasis on the "could" part there as McDowell has a ton of work to do in order to play up to his potential. First, he needs technique work to improve his balance, leverage and footwork. Second, McDowell needs to overcome the "lazy" label that some have given him. Finally, McDowell needs to show that he can be a coachable player. The tools (length, strength, athleticism) are all there but he's not a finished product.|
Dolphins | Miami to meet with two safety prospects Sun Apr 2, 05:13 PM
North Carolina State SS Josh Jones and Texas A&M SS Justin Evans are scheduled to meet with the Miami Dolphins before the 2017 NFL Draft.Link to story
Dolphins | Miami interested in Justin Evans Sun Apr 2, 10:50 AM
The Miami Dolphins are expected to meet with Texas A&M S Justin Evans in the coming weeks, according to sources.
|Footballguys view: Evans plays bigger than his size (6' 199 pounds) would suggest. He's a headhunter who can intimidate with bone-crushing hits (see him laying out Alabama's Derrick Henry in 2015). Evans is also athletic enough to play well in coverage and can have field-flipping interceptions (see his game vs UCLA). His aggressiveness can be used against him, and Evans will bite on play fakes looking to make the big play. We should see him go off the board in the 3rd round of the 2017 NFL draft.|

Dolphins | Dion Jordan waived Fri Mar 31, 04:22 PM
Miami Dolphins DE Dion Jordan (undisclosed) was waived with a failed physical designation Friday, March 31.
|Footballguys view: No surprise here. Jordan has not played since 2014, and the 3rd-overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft only started one game during his Dolphins career. The move to get rid of Jordan frees up $3.2 million in cap space.|

Dolphins | Joe Mixon won't be taken by Dolphins Wed Mar 29, 11:32 AM
Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon will not be drafted by the Miami Dolphins, according to sources.
|Footballguys view: The Dolphins are one of a few teams we've heard of that have taken Mixon off their draft board. His talent on the football field is of first-round caliber, but a domestic violence incident from 2014 caught on video where he breaks several bones in a woman's face has made Mixon one of the most controversial picks in the draft.|
Dolphins | Dion Jordan a disappointment in MIA Mon Mar 27, 11:37 PM
Miami Dolphins DE Dion Jordan has been a disappointment since the club took him No. 3 overall in the 2013 NFL Draft, according to executive vice president Mike Tannenbaum. 'Obviously from where he was selected to today, it's not a move that's worked out,' Tannenbaum said. 'It's pretty obvious. We'll keep evaluating our roster and make moves when we feel it's appropriate.'Link to story
