Buffalo Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) did not suffer ligament damage to his knee in Week 11, but he is still undergoing further evaluation, according to head coach Sean McDermott.

Footballguys view: The Bills offense was a disaster against the Chargers, and having Benjamin knocked out of this game didn't help. Buffalo Bills WR Zay Jones (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 17, and is not on the injury report for Week 11.

Footballguys view: Jones could work as a relief valve receiver for new starting QB Nate Peterman. We're not starting him in most formats, but we are monitoring the Bills passing game to see which WRs Peterman prefers targeting.

Bills | Full practice for Zay Jones    Thu Nov 16, 03:48 PM

Buffalo Bills WR Zay Jones (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

Footballguys view: Jones has had little to no impact this year even beyond our low expectations, that is until last week. It was what passes for a breakout week for a guy like Jones, with 53 yards and a score -- his first of the year. Rookie quarterback Nathan Peterman isn't exactly stoking our enthusiasm level for Jones either. We'd keep him on the bench this week until we get a bead on the offense again.

Bills | Jordan Matthews listed as limited    Thu Nov 16, 03:44 PM

Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

Footballguys view: Matthews has been flat out disappointing this year, and with rookie Nathan Peterman under center, it might actually get worse. There is very little reason to have him in your lineup unless you really need a flex play.

Bills | Charles Clay limited     Thu Nov 16, 03:37 PM

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 16.

Footballguys view: They will baby Clay like this to keep him healthy. He isn't a great start given the team will likely run the ball with a new quarterback under center.

Bills | LeSean McCoy rests on Wednesday    Wed Nov 15, 06:14 PM

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (rest) was rested during practice on Wednesday, Nov. 15.

Footballguys view: It's just Wednesday, so this is a rest day for McCoy. With new starting QB Nathan Peterman, the Bills offense will lean on McCoy more than ever.

Bills | Zay Jones back at practice    Wed Nov 15, 12:21 PM

Buffalo Bills WR Zay Jones (knee) returned to practice Wednesday, Nov. 15.

Footballguys view: Jones can work the underneath routes and move the chains. He missed the game in Week 10 against the Saints, but Jones had the best game of his rookie year against the Jets in Week 9. He finished that game with six catches for 53 yards and a touchdown. We'll see if Jones can build a strong rapport with fellow rookie (and new starting QB) Nathan Peterman.

Bills | Tyrod Taylor likely to hit market    Wed Nov 15, 10:15 AM

Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor is due a $6 million roster bonus on the third day of the 2018 league year with $1 million guaranteed. He's likely to become a free agent in the offseason.

Footballguys view: There's no surprise here. Taylor was never really thought of as a long-term solution for new head coach Sean McDermott. He's likely to get some interest on the open market.

Tyrod Taylor player page

Bills | Tyrod Taylor benched    Wed Nov 15, 09:47 AM

Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor has been benched for Week 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Footballguys view: The writing has been on the wall for Taylor, and this move isn't really that 'out of nowhere' as some would think. Taylor has likely played his last snap for the Bills as we expect him to hit the free agent market in 2018. He's due a $6 million roster bonus on the third day of the 2018 league year with $1 million guaranteed. That's a sign he's not going to be with the Bills next season.

Bills | Nathan Peterman to start    Wed Nov 15, 09:39 AM

Buffalo Bills QB Nathan Peterman will start in Week 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Footballguys view: The rookie from PITT (transferred from Tennessee) drew comparisons to Kirk Cousins in the pre-draft process. With Tyrod Taylor struggling, the Bills turn to a player they selected in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL draft. He has experience running a pro-style scheme and his skill set is all about accuracy and anticipation. Peterman came in against the Saints on Sunday and went 7-of-10 with 79 yards passing and one touchdown in garbage time. We'll see what he can do on the road against the Chargers in Week 11.

Bills | LeSean McCoy totals 60 scrimmage yards    Sun Nov 12, 08:09 PM

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy ran eight times for 49 yards in Week 10 against the New Orleans Saints and he added three grabs for 11 yards on five targets.

Footballguys view: McCoy has had two straight fantasy duds. The Bills defense is not keeping games low-scoring and the offense isn't keeping up with opponents. He has a good matchup on paper against the Chargers next week, but they shut down Leonard Fournette today.

Bills | Tyrod Taylor lifted early in blowout    Sun Nov 12, 07:57 PM

Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor completed just nine of his 18 pass attempts for 56 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in the Week 10 game against the New Orleans Saints.

Footballguys view: Taylor was ineffective against the suddenly elite Saints defense. He'll face a top pass rush next week against the Chargers and is only a middling streamer.

Bills | Kelvin Benjamin will be in starting lineup    Sun Nov 12, 10:27 AM

Buffalo Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin will be one of the starting receivers against the New Orleans Saints in Week 10.

Footballguys view: Benjamin is still a boom/bust play with no previous time on the field catching passes from Tyrod Taylor and possibly facing Marshon Lattimore. He could be a preferred red zone target with his size and the game could be high-scoring so there is potential for a solid fantasy day.

Bills | Charles Clay expected to play    Sun Nov 12, 08:28 AM

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay (knee) is likely to play in Week 10's game against the New Orleans Saints.

Footballguys view: Clay returns to low TE1 status, although the addition of Kelvin Benjamin could affect his targets.

Bills | Dion Dawkins back in starting lineup    Fri Nov 10, 07:22 PM

Buffalo Bills OT Dion Dawkins will be the starting left tackle against the New Orleans Saints in Week 10 in place of OT Cordy Glenn (ankle, foot).

Footballguys view: The Saints have Cam Jordan, one of the most underrated defensive players in the league, and a resurgent Alex Okafor on the defensive line. The rookie Dawkins will be tested.
