Free-agent DT Dominique Easley (Patriots) agreed to a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams Tuesday, May 17, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: The Rams add another first-round pick to the mix on their defensive line. Easley has had knee problems in his pro career, but he can be effective inside if healthy. We should see him work into the rotation behind Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers.|

Rams | Coach impressed with Jared Goff Sun May 8, 05:21 PM
Los Angeles Rams OB Jared Goff has been performing well during the rookie minicamp, according to head coach Jeff Fisher. 'He's doing a great job picking up our offense,' Fisher said. 'We've given him a lot more information than we did at the private workout and then that we did here at our meeting, and he's handled it without any problem. And that's the impressive thing. I passed him last night walking to the room and he was leaving the meeting room at 10 o'clock. He's that kind of guy. He'll spend the time. It's important to him.'
|Footballguys view: Fisher should be impressed with Goff. The first-overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft has the upside to be a franchise quarterback. Goff joins a team with a strong rushing attack and a stifling defense. That will greatly benefit the rookie as we're expecting him to start from Week 1.|
Rams | Jared Goff compared to QB great Fri May 6, 02:13 PM
Los Angeles Rams owners Stan Kroenke recently compared QB Jared Goff to former NFL QB Kurt Warner. Kroenke said both Warner and Goff have vision down the field.
|Footballguys view: The Rams got Goff a lot of weapons in the draft, but they are mostly low wattage, even if fourth-round pick TE Tyler Higbee (Western Kentucky) was the most talented receiver among the tight ends in the draft, and sixth-round pick WR Mike Thomas (Southern Miss) was much more impressive than his non-combine invite resume would suggest.|
Rams | Eric Patterson waived Wed May 4, 05:22 PM
Los Angeles Rams CB Eric Patterson was waived Wednesday, May 4.
Rams | Pick up Alec Ogletree's option Mon May 2, 02:30 PM
Los Angeles Rams LB Alec Ogletree's fifth-year option was picked up Monday, May 2, according to sources.
|Footballguys view: Zero surprise given Ogletree's development into a stud linebacker for the Rams. A broken leg caused him to miss the final 12 games of last season, but when healthy he's an impact player. Don't be surprised if the Rams get a long-term deal done with him.|

Rams | Tavon Austin's option exercised Mon May 2, 02:28 PM
Los Angeles Rams WR Tavon Austin's fifth-year option was picked up Monday, May 2, according to sources.
|Footballguys view: Last season, Austin had 52 receptions for 473 yards and five TDs--all career highs for the supercharged WR. In standard leagues, he was fantasy football's 21st-ranked wideout and that's about where he should finish once again this year.|

Rams | Tavon Austin may have option picked up Sun May 1, 05:06 PM
Los Angeles Rams WR Tavon Austin is expected to have his fifth-year option exercised, but the team hopes to sign him to a long-term extension.
|Footballguys view: It took some time, but finally the Rams figured out how to use Austin correctly. Last season, Austin had 52 receptions for 473 yards and five TDs--all career highs for the supercharged WR. In standard leagues, he was fantasy football's 21st-ranked wideout and that's about where he should finish once again this year.|

Rams | Los Angeles adds Pharoh Cooper Sat Apr 30, 01:14 PM
The Los Angeles Rams selected South Carolina WR Pharoh Cooper with the 117th pick in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft.
|Footballguys view: Undersized but strong and possessing a tremendous burst off the line. Productive in college while his program was a bit chaotic, he's reliable and a solid player who the Rams will find a role for.|
Rams | Two Rams QBs up for grabs Fri Apr 29, 02:42 PM
Los Angeles Rams QB Nick Foles is on the trade block, and the Rams are willing to listen to offers for QB Case Keenum as well.
|Footballguys view: It's going to be tough to sell anyone on Foles or Keenum, at least not for much return. The Rams don't want any questions about who is starting though, and will clear the decks of potential threats. They're burning the boats so nobody can return to the homeland.|

Rams | Jared Goff great in red zone Fri Apr 29, 01:11 PM
Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff had 28 touchdowns and no interceptions in the red zone in 2015, which was one of the things the Rams loved about him.
|Footballguys view: Of course, the Rams need to get to the red zone, but if they can ride Todd Gurley between the 20s then Goff's ability in that zone can give them flexibility. We're still concerned about the coaching and offensive line, but Goff could have some red zone scores to make his fantasy owners happy.|
Rams | Jared Goff will have to adjust Fri Apr 29, 12:20 PM
Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff was in a 'Bear Raid' spread offense in college where he spent more than 99% of his time taking snaps out of the shotgun. The Rams were in a shotgun or pistol formation on fewer plays than any other team in the NFL in 2015. Goff has the chance to begin the season as the starter if the team deems him ready.
|Footballguys view: It's the same thing for many quarterbacks coming into the league, and we think he'll get up to speed quick. That said, the offensive line is enough of an issue they might want to have Goff in shotgun a little more frequently this season.|
Rams | Jared Goff starting opener the goal Fri Apr 29, 11:25 AM
Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff starting the season opener is the goal for the team, according to head coach Jeff Fisher.
|Footballguys view: As expected. They need a splash to keep the LA fans enthusiastic and Goff was more ready to jump right in than Carson Wentz or Paxton Lynch. The offensive line is a huge concern for us though, and we think his production will be low as he adjusts to that, the speed of the NFL and the team leans on Todd Gurley.|
Rams | Jared Goff to Rams first overall Thu Apr 28, 08:00 PM

Rams | Los Angeles hoping to trade Nick Foles Thu Apr 28, 07:10 PM
Los Angeles Rams QB Nick Foles could be traded as a result of the Rams likely drafting a quarterback Thursday, April 28, on the first day of the NFL draft. Several teams have already expressed interest in Foles, but if he is unable to be swapped then he will likely be released.
|Footballguys view: Good luck with that. Maybe if they offer some In N Out, they'd get interest. Foles was a disaster for the Rams, so there will be few teams calling and they certainly will not be offering very much value.|

Rams | No. 1 pick won't know until it's time Thu Apr 28, 11:08 AM
California QB Jared Goff is expected to be the No. 1 pick by the Los Angeles Rams, but the Rams won't notify the player they're selecting until they're on the clock Thursday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Here's your tinfoil hat conspiracy for the day: is the NFL asking them to hold off so they can maximize excitement and eyeballs on television? Because otherwise it's odd that this team isn't already working on the contract. We expect Goff to be the pick and while Carson Wentz has more upside, Goff is more ready to go.|
Rams | Greg Zuerlein terms Wed Apr 27, 09:24 AM
Updating previous reports, Los Angeles Rams PK Greg Zuerlein's one-year deal is worth $1.25 million with an $850,000 base salary ($250,000 guaranteed) and a $400,000 signing bonus. He can earn up to $2.05 million in incentives for field-goal percentage and 50-yard field goals.Link to story

Rams | Nick Foles receiving interest Mon Apr 25, 02:01 PM
Los Angeles Rams QB Nick Foles is a trade target for several teams, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: That makes sense, but we can't imagine the Rams will get much of a haul in return for Foles. It's a QB-desperate league, so we may see guys like Foles, Josh McCown (Browns) or Colin Kaepernick (49ers) traded in the next few days with the draft coming up.|

Rams | Signs pointing to Jared Goff at No. 1? Sun Apr 24, 11:43 PM
California QB Jared Goff is the player the Los Angeles Rams are targeting with the No. 1 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, according to beat writer Sam Farmer. Farmer said he initially believed North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz was the pick, but he said he misread the signs.
|Footballguys view: That's why Cleveland moved out of the 2nd spot. The Browns wanted Goff, but they signed Robert Griffin III just in case some team leapfrogged them for the Cal QB. When the Rams moved up, the Browns moved down a week later. It takes the mystery out of the top pick, but we think Goff is the guy.|
Rams | Jared Goff wraps up visit with L.A. Thu Apr 21, 09:13 PM
California QB Jared Goff wrapped up a visit with the Los Angeles Rams Thursday, April 21, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: We'll put our chips on Goff as the likely number one pick. He is smart, can make all the throws required and is known as a fiery competitor. Goff needs to do a better job of leading his receivers when he throws into traffic. He could step in and start for the Rams from day one.|
Rams | L.A. meets with top QBs again Thu Apr 21, 06:30 PM
The Los Angeles Rams met with California QB Jared Goff and North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz this week, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: This is one heck of a smokescreen, as we are sure the Eagles (and therefore the Rams) know who will be available after the first pick. Either that or the Eagles truly are happy no matter who drops to them. Or they are insane and will pick a kicker. One of those things is not as likely as the other. We think it's Goff at this point, and he should be a decent fit in the offense. We like Wentz in the Eagles offense as well.|
Rams | L.A. almost certain of top pick Tue Apr 19, 12:32 PM
The Los Angeles Rams and general manager Les Snead are '97% sure' about who they will take with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. The Rams seem to know which quarterback they prefer between North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz and California QB Jared Goff. 'There will be suspense leading all the way up to the draft,' Snead said. 'It will be good for the networks.'
|Footballguys view: The Rams could start negotiating with their top choice right now if they wanted. It takes away the suspense for the start of the draft, but it's within the rules and we've seen it before. Many thing that Goff is going to be the first pick in the draft as the Rams QB of the future.|
Rams | Chase Reynolds re-signs Mon Apr 18, 05:43 PM
The Los Angeles Rams re-signed RB Chase Reynolds to an undisclosed deal Monday, April 18.
|Footballguys view: The "Albino Rhino" sticks around with the team that just can't let him go. Undrafted out of Montana is 2011, Reynolds has competed for years on the Rams roster as a reserve RB.|
Rams | Case Keenum signs tender Mon Apr 18, 02:13 PM
Los Angeles Rams QB Case Keenum signed his first-round restricted free-agent tender Monday, April 18. Keenum could still be traded.
|Footballguys view: The price tag that comes with his first-round tender of $3.6 million is something that could keep teams away from a trade for Keenum. He's got starting experience with the Rams and the Texans, but Keenum is going to be a backup for whoever the team selects with the number-one pick in the 2016 NFL draft.|

Rams | Carson Wentz to meet with Los Angeles Mon Apr 18, 01:56 PM
North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz will be meeting with the Los Angeles Rams over the next few days, according to sources.
|Footballguys view: We don't know who the Rams are going to take at no.1 overall in the 2016 NFL draft. Wentz or Jared Goff (California) are the two QBs the Rams have to decide on. While Goff goes through his progressions quicker, Wentz has better athleticism and the arm strength to make every throw required in the NFL.|
Rams | Los Angeles to meet with top QBs Sun Apr 17, 01:25 PM
California QB Jared Goff and North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz are scheduled to meet with the Los Angeles Rams leading up to the 2016 NFL Draft, according to a league source. The Rams are still believed to be leaning toward selecting Goff.
|Footballguys view: Nobody knows what the Rams are going to do at this time, and that's why they're looking at both top quarterbacks in this draft. Goff makes quick decisions and does a good job of challenging a defense. Wentz is a fine athlete who can keep plays alive with his feet while keeping his eyes downfield. Either one would be a great fit, and the Rams have less than two weeks to make a decision.|
Rams | Winston Rose showcases for Rams Sat Apr 16, 04:41 PM
New Mexico State CB Winston Rose had a strong workout for the Los Angeles Rams Saturday, April 16. He ran a 4.38-second 40-yard dash and met with head coach Jeff Fisher afterwards.Link to story
Rams | Vernon Adams Jr. works out for Rams Sat Apr 16, 04:19 PM
Oregon QB Vernon Adams Jr. worked out for the Los Angeles Rams Saturday, April 16, and was really impressive, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: Adams is built like Russell Wilson (Seahawks), but he's nowhere near as good as a passer. The former Easter Washington/Oregon star is a work in progress as a QB, but his athleticism makes him an intriguing late-round prospect in the 2016 NFL draft. The Rams will go QB with their 1st-overall pick, but they could another QB like Adams to the mix much later on.|

Rams | Los Angeles has high hopes for QB Thu Apr 14, 05:24 PM
The Los Angeles Rams traded up to the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft in hopes of landing the next former Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning or Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck, according to NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock. 'You don't make the trade unless you think [North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz] can be one of those guys,' Mayock said, 'and Carson Wentz has the upside to be one of those guys.'
|Footballguys view: The headline should read "Duh" at some point. The Rams have traded away a lot of capital in order to move up to the first pick. Wentz has the ability and upside to be a top-12 QB in the NFL, but many think Jared Goff (California) does as well.|
Rams | Jared Goff the Rams' target? Thu Apr 14, 12:12 PM
California QB Jared Goff is the quarterback that teams are coveting, including the Los Angeles Rams, which is what triggered them to strike a deal for the No. 1 overall pick Thursday, April 14, according to sources.
|Footballguys view: There's a lot to like about Goff's game. Either he or Carson Wentz (North Dakota State) should be the Rams' target. Goff has a quick processor and reads the field quickly. He can make all the throws required in the NFL even though he doesn't have a rocket arm. Goff is also known as a fierce competitor and quality leader.|
Rams | Carson Wentz believed to be Rams' choice Thu Apr 14, 09:52 AM
Updating earlier reports, North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz is believed to be the target for the Los Angeles Rams with the No. 1 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
|Footballguys view: There's a reason why the Rams moved up from 15 to 1....they want a QB. Wentz is a quarterback who can make tough throws into tight spaces. He can pick up yards with his feet, and he has a compact throwing motion to get the ball out when the pocket is cramped.|

Rams | Arrest warrant for Tre Mason Wed Apr 13, 11:42 PM
Los Angeles Rams RB Tre Mason failed to appear in court in Broward County, Fla., Monday, April 11, and an arrest warrant has been issued.
|Footballguys view: He was scheduled to be arraigned for a March 5 arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana, reckless driving, failure to register a motor vehicle and resisting arrest. The night of his arrest he was subdued with a stun gun.|

Rams | Michael Thomas to visit Los Angeles Wed Apr 13, 06:18 PM
Ohio State WR Michael Thomas will work out for the Los Angeles Rams Friday, April 15.
|Footballguys view: A detailed route-runner, Thomas could be an option for the Rams in the middle of the first round. He can win at the point of the catch, and Thomas has the size that makes it difficult for smaller corners to bring him down after the catch.|
Rams | Stedman Bailey running routes Wed Apr 13, 12:39 PM
Los Angeles Rams WR Stedman Bailey (head) posted a video of him running routes Tuesday, April 12.
|Footballguys view: We're just glad that Bailey is okay after what could have been a much worse outcome. Bailey hopes to resume his NFL career after spending more than a month in intensive care after two gunshot wounds to his head.|

Rams | Nick Foles to be cut soon? Sun Apr 10, 02:37 PM
Los Angeles Rams QB Nick Foles could be released before the start of training camp, and he will definitely be released before the regular season starts, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: In 2016, Foles is set to earn a base salary of $1.75 million and a roster bonus of $6 million. Foles has a cap hit of $8.75 million while his dead money value is $9.75 million. Look for a team like the Broncos to show interest if Foles is released.|

Rams | Benny Cunningham returning to Rams Fri Apr 8, 12:42 PM
Los Angeles Rams restricted free-agent RB Benny Cunningham signed his tender offer Friday, April 8, to remain with the Rams. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
