Rams | Kenny Britt practices in full    Thu Oct 30, 07:39 PM

St. Louis Rams WR Kenny Britt (hip) practiced in full Thursday, Oct. 30, after being limited Wednesday, Oct. 29.

Footballguys view: We may see Britt get a larger role now that Brian Quick has been lost for the season. On the road against the 49ers, we only recommend Britt as a WR4.

Rams | Jared Cook restructures    Thu Oct 30, 10:41 AM

St. Louis Rams TE Jared Cook restructured his deal to convert his base salary into a signing bonus, which created $900,000 in salary cap space. The move was made to fit SS Mark Barron on the payroll.

Footballguys view: Cook hasn't performed that great the last season and a half, so the restructure makes a lot of sense. Against the San Francisco 49ers, on the road, we see him as a TE2, no more.

Rams | Kenny Britt limited    Wed Oct 29, 07:48 PM

St. Louis Rams WR Kenny Britt (hip) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 29. The Rams conducted a walk-through Wednesday, so the practice designation is an estimation.

Footballguys view: Britt is going to have the potential of a larger role now that Brian Quick is out for the year. He's got amazing natural talent, but he's never fully played up to his potential as a pro.

The St. Louis Rams placed OT Jake Long (knee) on Reserve/Injured Tuesday, Oct. 28.

Footballguys view: Long has talent, but he's one of the most injury prone players in the league. He injured the same knee in Week 16 last year. Long will be replaced in the lineup by rookie Greg Robinson.

Rams | Acquire Mark Barron    Tue Oct 28, 04:07 PM

The St. Louis Rams have acquired SS Mark Barron from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tuesday, Oct. 28, according to a source.

Footballguys view: Barron was the 7th-overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft. He has been a bust for the Buccaneers, but perhaps he'll start flashing the same playmaking ability he did in college for the Rams. The Rams pick up his contract now, and he's signed through the 2015 season with a fifth-year option for 2016 if the team likes what they see.

Rams | Rams split RB snaps evenly in Week 8    Mon Oct 27, 04:10 PM

St. Louis Rams RBs Tre Mason and Benny Cunningham each were on the field for 18 snaps in Week 8. RB Zac Stacy received 15 snaps during the game.

Footballguys view: Just what fantasy owners did not want to see. Mason led the team in rushing for the third week in a row, but his performance was barely 'what the heck' flex worthy. This is a situation to largely avoid until one (Mason?) emerges from the pack.

Rams | Stedman Bailey expected to start    Mon Oct 27, 02:56 PM

St. Louis Rams WR Stedman Bailey is expected to join the starting lineup with WR Brian Quick (shoulder) out for the season.

Footballguys view: Bailey has good downfield speed, and he can be a steady target for QB Austin Davis. He's taking over for Quick, but we're not expecting similar fantasy production.

Rams | Brian Quick done for 2014    Mon Oct 27, 12:51 PM

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick (shoulder) is likely out for the rest of the season with a dislocated shoulder and torn rotator cuff.

Footballguys view: Quick had looked better this year before this injury. He was finally starting to play up to his potential, but now he'll have to wait for next year. The Rams will move on with guys like Kenny Britt, Stedman Bailey and Tavon Austin. When Quick returns, many things could look different (QB specifically) on the Rams roster.

Rams | Greg Robinson to LT    Mon Oct 27, 11:32 AM

St. Louis Rams OG Greg Robinson will shift from left guard to left tackle following the injury to OT Jake Long (knee).

Footballguys view: Robinson was drafted with the idea of him being the team's left tackle someday. That has to come sooner rather than later due to the injury to Long.

Rams | Jake Long tears ACL again    Mon Oct 27, 09:09 AM

Updating previous reports, St. Louis Rams OT Jake Long (knee) tore his anterior cruciate ligament for the second time in less than a year.

Footballguys view: Long has a lot of talent, but man alive does he get banged up frequently--with serious injuries. The Rams will move forward with rookie Greg Robinson at left tackle. Long has a $12.5 million cap hit next year, but only $2.5 million left in dead money.

Rams | Brian Quick carted off    Sun Oct 26, 02:13 PM

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick (arm) was carted off the field after suffering an arm injury in Week 8.

Footballguys view: Stedman Bailey could get a chance to stick as a starter if Quick misses extended time, although the character of the Rams offense is tilting more towards safe passing and running right now.

Rams | Rodger Saffold leaves early    Sun Oct 26, 02:02 PM

Rams | Zac Stacy could be available    Sun Oct 26, 12:24 PM

St. Louis Rams RB Zac Stacy could be on the trade block since it appears he has fallen out of favor with the Rams.

Footballguys view: And yet Jeff Fisher says he could get 25 carries any week now. Stacy might bring more in a deal than Doug Martin. They have similar measureables and Stacy has one more year left on his rookie deal.

Rams | Benny Cunningham probable for Week 8    Fri Oct 24, 04:22 PM

St. Louis Rams RB Benny Cunningham (knee) practiced in full Friday, Oct. 24, and is probable for Week 8 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Footballguys view: Cunningham's role is unknown in the Rams' new "hot hand" backfield, but he should lead the team's trio in receptions, and possibly get some goal line looks. He's a potential what the heck flex, but not a potent one on the road at Kansas City.

Rams | Zac Stacy could remain a factor    Fri Oct 24, 10:53 AM

St. Louis Rams RB Zac Stacy, who didn't have a touch in Week 7, could remain a factor in the backfield in Week 8 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Earlier in the week, head coach Jeff Fisher said Stacy could have 25 carries Sunday, Oct. 26. However, the team is likely to give RB Tre Mason every opportunity to develop the hot hand this weekend.

Footballguys view: Mason is still the best Rams back to own and play this weekend. If there is going to be a Rams RB emerge with consistent weekly value this year, it will be Mason.

Rams | Tre Mason could be top RB option    Wed Oct 22, 03:08 PM

St. Louis Rams RB Tre Mason could be the top candidate for a majority of carries since he is averaging 5.4 yards per carry. Mason rushed for 85 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries in Week 7 and received most of the carries because he had the hot hand, according to head coach Jeff Fisher. RB Zac Stacy was announced the starter for Week 7 but only played one snap. RB Benny Cunningham only rushed for three yards during the game. Stacy is averaging 3.93 yards per carry this season, while Cunningham is averaging 3.78 yards per carry.

Footballguys view: Mason has led the team in rushing yards over the last two weeks. The speedy rookie has more explosiveness than Cunningham or Stacy. Fantasy owners need to consider Mason a low-end RB2/flex with upside in PPR leagues.

Rams | Brett Favre endorses Austin Davis    Wed Oct 22, 01:13 PM

St. Louis Rams QB Austin Davis was 18-for-21 for 152 yards in the team's Week 7 win over the Seattle Seahawks, and former QB Brett Favre thinks Davis could be special in the league. 'Not to sound off my rocker, but (Davis) -- in my mind -- can be the next Tom Brady or Kurt Warner. (Brian) Hoyer as well,' Favre said. Davis' 86 percent completion rate against the Seahawks was the highest accuracy mark against a defending Super Bowl champion (minimum of 20 passes). It was also the second highest completion percentage against the Seahawks.

Footballguys view: Of course he does! Those Southern Mississippi quarterbacks have to stick up for each other! Davis broke alot of Favre's records from college, and he's taken that gunslinger style to the pros. The young quarterback has gone through some bumps this year, and he's nothing more than a desperation addition for fantasy owners.

Rams | Sign two to practice squad    Tue Oct 21, 05:14 PM

The St. Louis Rams signed free-agent WRs Kadron Boone (Eagles) and Devon Wylie (49ers) to their practice squad Tuesday, Oct. 21.

Footballguys view: Wylie was once an interesting prospect in dynasty leagues. He's been unable to stick on more than one roster despite having incredible natural ability. Wylie is quick, fast and agile--but he struggles staying healthy and with consistency. We're no longer interested in him...even in the deepest of deep dynasty leagues.
