Los Angeles Rams DB Donte Deayon, LB Travin Howard, OT Kyle Murphy and WR Austin Proehl were signed to free-agent contracts Wednesday, Feb. 6. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Proehl is the son of former NFL receiver Ricky Proehl. He was a seventh-round pick out of North Carolina for the Bills in 2018. Proehl failed to make the 53-man roster for the Bills and was eventually picked up by the Rams on their practice squad. We'll monitor him in super deep dynasty formats. |

The Los Angeles Rams intend on discussing an extension with QB Jared Goff during the offseason, according to MMQB's Albert Breer, though Breer says the team is not in a hurry to get something done.
Footballguys view: The Rams have Goff's rights through the 2020 season because of the fifth-year option. Goff has a cap number of $8.8 million in 2019, a very affordable rate, but the Rams may want to get him signed sooner rather than later to a long-term deal. |

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) does not need any medical procedures on the knee that bothered him later in the season. Gurley and the Rams went through physical examinations Tuesday, Feb. 5, but head coach Sean McVay said he had not talked to team trainers about those exams yet.
Footballguys view: Gurley swears up and down that he was healthy during the postseason. His usage during the playoffs was criminal if he was truly healthy. The Rams should have used him as much as possible, but instead Gurley only had 14 carries in two games (NFC Championship, Super Bowl). We'll see Gurley get work in this offseason. |

Los Angeles Rams DT Aaron Donald was named the 2018 Associated Press Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season Saturday, Feb. 2. He led the NFL with 20.5 sacks and also ranked first in quarterback hits (41), tackles for loss (25) and pressures (73).
Footballguys view: This was an easy award. Donald is playing at the generational level JJ Watt hit during his prime. |

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp (knee) said he has not experienced any setbacks as he rehabs from knee surgery.
Footballguys view: Kupp is only going the fifth or sixth round of early drafts even though he was providing value around the third round level before his ACL tear. This news makes him seem like a value at his early ADP. |

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley is expected to have a big role in the offense against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LIII, according to head coach Sean McVay.
Footballguys view: Gurley's demotion in the NFC title game was play-based and there's no guarantee that he'll measure with CJ Anderson running well and the Patriots run defense a major weakness. Both running backs should see a lot of work on Sunday. |

Los Angeles Rams PK Greg Zuerlein (foot) fully participated in practice Friday, Feb. 1, and is not on the injury report for Super Bowl LIII.
Footballguys view: This is a sigh of relief for a team that needed every bit of Zuerlein's leg to get this far. He should be good to go with no restrictions on Sunday. |

Los Angeles Rams PK Greg Zuerlein (foot) was limited in practice Wednesday, Jan. 30.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR DeSean Jackson mentioned Wednesday, Jan. 30, that he desires to play for the Los Angeles Rams, although he is under contract with the Buccaneers for one more season. Jackson played for the Washington Redskins while Rams head coach Sean McVay was the offensive coordinator there.
Footballguys view: Jackson is almost certainly going to be released, but the Rams don't really have a need for him. Perhaps if he takes a big pay cut he could end up in Los Angeles, but don't count on it. The Sean McVay craze apparently applies to players in addition to owners and general managers. |

Los Angeles Rams RB C.J. Anderson said Tuesday, Jan. 29, he is now playing at 235 pounds -- up from his previous playing weight of 225.
Footballguys view: Anderson might not be in the best shape, but he is rested and effective. He'll see a lot of action on Sunday and has an outside shot at winning the MVP award. |

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley will be a big part of game plan in the Super Bowl, according to head coach Sean McVay.
Footballguys view: Gurley has been outplayed by CJ Anderson down the stretch, and probably not strictly because of Gurley's knee injury. This could be a fluid situation as the game goes on depending on whether Gurley improves from the poor play he displayed on his handful of snaps against the Saints. |

Updating previous reports, Los Angeles Rams PK Greg Zuerlein (foot) injured his left foot during halftime warmups at the NFC Championship Game Sunday, Jan. 20, according to special teams coach John Fassel. Zuerlein hit a steel plate in the turf but didn't reveal to Fassel that he was still experiencing pain until after the game was over.

Los Angeles Rams PK Greg Zuerlein (foot) said he should be good to go after a few more days of treatment on his injured left foot. 'It hurt, but not enough to stop me from playing,' Zuerlein said.
Footballguys view: Zuerlein will play but the confidence in him to hit 50+ yard field goals with the game on the line might be shaken in Sean McVay if he struggles on early extra point and shorter attempts. This could be one of the stories of the game. |

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley claimed that his knee is not injured and that his lack of involvement in the offense during the NFC Championship Game was based on a lackluster performance.
Footballguys view: That's cool that he says his knee is okay...but the eye test showed something different in the NFC Championship Game. Gurley touched the ball just five times, including four carries, in their win over the New Orleans Saints and was on the field for just 46 percent of the Rams' offensive snaps. |

Los Angeles Rams RB C.J. Anderson (illness) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 25.
Footballguys view: Anderson could play a large role for the Rams in the Super Bowl. He's done a fine job filling in for an injured Todd Gurley at the end of the regular season, and Anderson gives them a nice 1-2 punch now that Gurley is back in action. |

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley will bounce back with a strong game in Super Bowl LIII after rushing for 10 yards and a TD on four carries and catching one pass for three yards in the NFC Championship Game on Jan. 20, in the opinion of QB Jared Goff. I expect him to have a big game,' Goff said Thursday, Jan. 24. 'He's going to go out there and do everything he normally does. For whatever (reason) -- last week wasn't his and it happens. It's not the end of the world. I think he knows that and approaches it like a pro.'
Footballguys view: Gurley doesn't quite seem like himself after only getting four carries in the NFC Championship Game, yet the team insists that he's healthy enough to play. If Gurley needs a breather during the Super Bowl, the Rams can confidently turn to C.J. Anderson to carry the load. |
