Rams | To meet with Greg Robinson again Mon Apr 21, 02:37 AM
The St. Louis Rams will meet with Auburn OL Greg Robinson at the school's campus in Alabama. This marks the second meeting between the team and Robinson in less than a month.
|Footballguys view: The Rams will be trying to trade down from the #2 pick, but if they can't find a taker who is willing to pay their price, Robinson is a good bet to be their pick. Even though Jeff Fisher has never taken an offensive lineman in the first round, Robinson's freakish athletic ability and dominance as a run blocker makes him a perfect fit.|
Rams | Interested in Connor Shaw Sun Apr 20, 06:29 PM
The St. Louis Rams have spent a lot of time with South Carolina QB Connor Shaw.
|Footballguys view: Shaw is a dual-threat quarterback who has drawn comparisons to a smaller version of Tim Tebow. He's a tough player who showed enough arm strength to make all the throws required in the NFL. Shaw's accuracy and mechanics suffer incredibly when he's asked to move out of the pocket.|
Rams | Tom Savage visits Sun Apr 20, 06:29 PM
The St. Louis Rams have visited with Pittsburgh QB Tom Savage.
|Footballguys view: Savage is a big pocket passer with a strong arm. His draft stock has been soaring in recent weeks, and there are some who feel he could be a late first- or early second-round pick. Savage has a strong arm but his accuracy needs a lot of work. He couldn't hang onto the starting job at Rutgers, transferred to Arizona, then finally found a gig at PITT. Savage is not athletic and his shaky accuracy really suffers when he's asked to throw on the move.|
Rams | Get look at Tajh Boyd Fri Apr 18, 08:46 PM
The St. Louis Rams got a look at Clemson QB Tajh Boyd Friday, April 18, since he was throwing to WR Sammy Watkins during his private workout with the team.
|Footballguys view: Boyd is a late-round developmental prospect. He's athletic and has a strong arm, but he's inaccurate and makes poor decisions under pressure. The Rams added Shaun Hill, but they could use a third-string guy with upside.|
Rams | Will pick up Robert Quinn's option Fri Apr 18, 07:22 PM
The St. Louis Rams have not picked up the fifth-year option in DE Robert Quinn's contract at this point but will exercise the option before the May 3 deadline.
|Footballguys view: Zero surprise here. Quinn is one of the best pass-rushers in the game today. The Rams will do their best to eventually lock him up with a long-term deal.|

Rams | Kyle Fuller coming in Fri Apr 18, 03:38 AM
Virginia Tech CB Kyle Fuller is coming to the St. Louis Rams for a visit sometime during the week of April 21.
|Footballguys view: Fuller is a big cornerback who can re-route receivers at the line of scrimmage. He's a sound tackler who can cover downfield. Fuller is seen as a late first-round pick.|
Rams | Reggie Jordan to visit Thu Apr 17, 02:36 PM
Missouri Western TE Reggie Jordan is scheduled to visit the St. Louis Rams next week.Link to story
Rams | Watch Aaron Murray pro day Wed Apr 16, 02:54 PM
St. Louis Rams director of player personnel Taylor Morton was present at Georgia QB Aaron Murray's pro day Wednesday, April 16.
|Footballguys view: The Rams could use a developmental quarterback like Murray on the roster. He's tough, competitive, accurate and known as a leader. His arm isn't a rocket, but he can make every throw required in the NFL.|
Rams | Attending Aaron Murray's pro day Wed Apr 16, 12:26 PM
St. Louis Rams director of player personnel Taylor Morton is attending the pro day of Georgia QB Aaron Murray Wednesday, April 16.
|Footballguys view: Murray is an interesting quarterback to watch at the pro level. He's a tough leader who can stand in the pocket, deliver the ball, and take a hit. Murray doesn't have a rocket arm, but it's strong enough to make all the throws required in the NFL. A torn ACL could keep him from contributing in 2014, but he has the upside to be a good backup with starting capability.|
Rams | Could choose between three Mon Apr 14, 08:53 AM
The St. Louis Rams could choose between South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney, Clemson WR Sammy Watkins and Auburn OT Greg Robinson with the second pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
|Footballguys view: The Rams could use any of those players. Adding Clowney would be ridiculous as their pass-rush is already top notch with Robert Quinn and Chris Long. Watkins would be their best wide receiver if added. Robinson would give them insurance in case left tackle Jake Long gets banged up (again). He's also a better starting right tackle prospect than Joe Barksdale.|
Rams | Interested in Aaron Murray Sat Apr 12, 10:11 AM
The St. Louis Rams have asked to have either a private workout or a team visit with University of Georgia QB Aaron Murray.
|Footballguys view: There's a lot to like about Murray. He's an accurate quarterback who is known as a tough leader. Murray is short, but lacks the athleticism of Russell Wilson or Drew Brees. His arm isn't incredibly strong, and he'll struggle to throw deep when he can't set his feet. The Rams are looking for a developmental quarterback behind Sam Bradford and Shaun Hill.|
Rams | Joel Bitonio visits Wed Apr 9, 04:21 PM
The St. Louis Rams visited with Nevada OG Joel Bitonio Wednesday, April 9.Link to story
Rams | Sammy Watkins to visit, work out Wed Apr 9, 01:14 PM
The St. Louis Rams are scheduled to meet with Clemson WR Sammy Watkins Monday, April 14, and conduct a private workout with him Friday, April 18.
|Footballguys view: Even though the Rams added two wide receivers (Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey) in the draft last year, they could look to add a playmaker like Watkins. He's the best wide receiver in this draft class and can be a dominant pro.|
Rams | Will meet with Khalil Mack Tue Apr 8, 12:20 PM
The St. Louis Rams will meet with Buffalo LB Khalil Mack later this week.
|Footballguys view: Mack on the Rams defense would just be downright scary. They already have an elite group of pass-rushers led by Robert Quinn. Mack is a pass-rusher who excelled at Buffalo. He also performed well against larger schools during his college career.|
Rams | More on Kenny Britt Tue Apr 8, 10:55 AM
Updating previous reports, St. Louis Rams WR Kenny Britt received a $50,000 signing bonus, and $500,000 of his $1 million is guaranteed. He also has a $100,000 workout bonus and $18,750 per game in active roster bonuses.Link to story

Rams | Darqueze Dennard will visit Mon Apr 7, 05:36 PM
Michigan State CB Darqueze Dennard said he is scheduled to meet with the St. Louis Rams before the 2014 NFL Draft.
|Footballguys view: Dennard has the ability to re-route receivers at the line of scrimmage. He's an aggressive player who plays with a physical style. Long speed is a question, but he has the fluidity in his hips to turn and run off of press coverage. Rams head coach Jeff Fisher loves cornerbacks who play with a fiery attitude. Dennard is a great fit for their 13th overall pick.|
Rams | Receive calls about No. 2 pick Mon Apr 7, 03:27 PM
St. Louis Rams general manager Les Snead said the team has received interest from other teams about the second overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Snead said he expects to have serious trade talks with teams during the week leading up to the draft.
|Footballguys view: That number two pick (thanks Washington!) is going to be a pretty hot asset for the Rams. They're looking for offensive line help and could likely trade back in the top 10 and still get a quality player.|
Rams | Talk with Walter Powell Sat Apr 5, 11:52 AM
The St. Louis Rams have talked with Murray State WR Walter Powell but have not scheduled a visit with him at this point.Link to story
Rams | Interested in Tom Savage Sat Apr 5, 11:51 AM
The St. Louis Rams have expressed interest in Pittsburgh QB Tom Savage leading up to the 2014 NFL Draft. The team is considering scheduling a visit as well as a private workout with Savage.
|Footballguys view: Savage has been getting some positive buzz lately since his pro day. He's your classic pocket passer with a strong arm. However, he's bounced around college football before finding a home for one season at Pitt. Earlier in his college career, Savage couldn't hang onto the starting job at Rutgers. His pocket presence is shaky, and he's inconsistent with his accuracy. Oh yeah, and don't ask him to make plays/throws on the run--it's not pretty.|
Rams | Not expected to pursue Chris Johnson Sat Apr 5, 11:45 AM
The St. Louis Rams likely will not pursue free-agent RB Chris Johnson (Titans) when he is officially released but the possibility has not been ruled out. Johnson could be too expensive for the team to sign.
|Footballguys view: The Rams already have speed in their backfield with Daryl Richardson. He could work well as a change-of-pace back behind starter Zac Stacy.|
Chris Johnson player page
Rams | May work out Sammy Watkins Fri Apr 4, 08:43 PM
The St. Louis Rams have not scheduled a visit with Clemson WR Sammy Watkins at this point but are considering conducting a private workout with him.
|Footballguys view: The Rams added a couple of wide receivers last year in the draft when they selected both Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey. Adding Watkins would be a fine move for the Rams as he's simply the best receiver in this class. He can run crisp routes, has strong hands and Watkins is dangerous after the catch.|
Rams | Talk with Stephon Tuitt Fri Apr 4, 08:43 PM
The St. Louis Rams met with Notre Dame DE Stephon Tuitt earlier this week.
|Footballguys view: The Rams have two first-round picks, but Tuitt is not really worth of either pick (2nd, 13th). However, if he's still there in the second-round the team could be interested. The Rams may also trade back, so Tuitt could be a target if they add a late first-round pick.|
Rams | Meet with Ryan Shazier Fri Apr 4, 08:42 PM
The St. Louis Rams met with Ohio State LB Ryan Shazier earlier this week.
|Footballguys view: Shazier's draft stock has been skyrocketing since the Buckeye's pro day. He's best fit as an outside linebacker in a 3-4, but there are some who think he could fit inside or outside in a 4-3. Shazier can fly to the football, and he has a nose for making a big play at the right time. He's likely to be a late first- or early second-round pick.|
Rams | Justin Gilbert visits Fri Apr 4, 08:39 PM

Rams | Met with Taylor Lewan Fri Apr 4, 08:35 PM

Rams | Kony Ealy visits Fri Apr 4, 08:30 PM
The St. Louis Rams met with Missouri DE Kony Ealy Friday, April 4.
|Footballguys view: Ealy is an option for the Rams in the first round, specifically with their 13th overall pick. They also have the 2nd overall pick, but Ealy should still be on the board after 10. Ealy has drawn comparisons to DE Robert Quinn (Rams) because of his initial quickness off the edge as a pass-rusher. He can play defensive end in a 4-3, and most believe he could stand up and play outside linebacker in a 3-4 too.|
Rams | Kelvin Benjamin to visit Thu Apr 3, 07:23 PM
The St. Louis Rams are scheduled to meet with Florida State WR Kelvin Benjamin Friday, April 4.
|Footballguys view: The Rams already selected a prospect similar to Benjamin when they took Brian Quick in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Like Quick, Benjamin is a big receiver who doesn't look comfortable using his frame to his advantage. Benjamin is more athletic, but he needs to be more consistent to play up to his potential as a pro.|
Rams | Greg Robinson visiting Wed Apr 2, 12:40 PM
The St. Louis Rams are scheduled to meet with Auburn OT Greg Robinson Wednesday, April 2.
|Footballguys view: The Rams added LT Jake Long in free agency last year, but they could use more help at the tackle position. Robinson would be a fine pick if they stay at number two overall. He's a massive man who can control an opponent as a road-grading run-blocker. Robinson does struggle with elite edge rushers as he'll lunge at an opponent rather than keep his feet moving. That makes him a great right tackle prospect.|
Rams | Jadeveon Clowney to work out Wed Apr 2, 12:38 PM
South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney said he has a workout scheduled with the St. Louis Rams.Link to story
Rams | GM attends Jadeveon Clowney's Pro Day Wed Apr 2, 12:27 PM
St. Louis Rams general manager Les Snead attended the South Carolina Pro Day Wednesday, April 2, to watch DE Jadeveon Clowney work out.
|Footballguys view: The Rams need to do their homework on Clowney. Thanks to Washington, the Rams have the number two overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft. They could trade back if another team wants to move up to draft a quarterback, or they could sit tight and select a player like Clowney or OT Jake Matthews.|
Rams | Greg Reid arrested Tue Apr 1, 02:31 PM
St. Louis Rams CB Greg Reid was arrested Saturday, March 29, for a probation violation. The specifics of the violation were not disclosed.Link to story

The St. Louis Rams attended the pro day of Central Arkansas SS Jestin Love's pro day Monday, March 31. Love had a 38-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot-3 broad jump and put up 22 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press.Link to story
Rams | Kenny Britt signs Mon Mar 31, 07:25 PM
The St. Louis Rams signed free-agent WR Kenny Britt (Titans) to a one-year, $1.4 million deal Monday, March 31, according to a source. The deal could wind up being worth as much as $2.9 million. Britt will receive $550,000 in guarantees.
|Footballguys view: This was an expected landing spot for Britt. He's reunited with former Titans head coach (and current Rams head coach) Jeff Fisher. The Rams added former Titans TE Jared Cook last year. Like Cook, Britt was disgruntled in Tennessee and needed a change of scenery. Britt's talent has never been a question mark. Injuries and inconsistencies have held back his pro career. If healthy and motivated then Britt could be the team's top receiver.|

Rams | Expect improvement from Tavon Austin Mon Mar 31, 03:39 PM
St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said he expects WR Tavon Austin to improve this upcoming season, because he will have a full offseason to learn the offense. 'I think another year in the program, in the offense, OTAs, training camp, you'll see more production. I think we'll do a better job of using him now that we know what he's capable of doing. Kind of looking forward to see him improve from year one to year two,' Fisher said.
|Footballguys view: Austin needs to show more in 2014. He's dangerous after the catch, but he needs to get open consistently and provide a reliable target for QB Sam Bradford. We still love Austin's dynasty upside, so fantasy owners should still hold on to this incredibly talented player.|

Rams | Top OTs are expected to be options Fri Mar 28, 08:23 PM
The St. Louis Rams are expected to consider Auburn OT Greg Robinson, Texas A&M OT Jake Matthews and Michigan OT Taylor Lewan as options for the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Lewan likely would be more of a candidate with the 13th overall pick instead of the second overall pick.Link to story
Rams | Will work out Jake Matthews Fri Mar 28, 08:13 PM
The St. Louis Rams are scheduled to conduct a private workout with Texas A&M OT Jake Matthews.Link to story
Rams | Like Sammy Watkins Fri Mar 28, 09:01 AM
St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher praised Clemson WR Sammy Watkins' talent, but he also said he likes what the team has at receiver. 'I think with what we have on the roster right now, we can provide (quarterback) Sam (Bradford) with the talent to where we can win a lot of games,' Fisher said. 'We're expecting improvement. We're still seeing improvement from (receivers), for example, Brian Quick, Chris Givens who are going into their third year.'
|Footballguys view: Everyone should like (or love) Sammy Watkins. He can fly down the field, track the ball over his shoulder and make difficult catches seem routine. Watkins is our favorite wide receiver in this talent-rich draft class.|

Rams | In hunt for Kenny Britt Thu Mar 27, 07:09 PM
The St. Louis Rams are still in the hunt to sign free-agent WR Kenny Britt (Titans), but Britt is still evaluating his options.
|Footballguys view: Former Titans coach Jeff Fisher added former Titans TE Jared Cook last year. Like Cook, Britt is disgruntled in Tennessee and he never has played up to his full potential. He has the ability to be a quality starter in this league if he can stay healthy and motivated.|

Rams | Alex Carrington terms Thu Mar 27, 10:15 AM
Updating a previous report, St. Louis Rams DE Alex Carrington received a one-year, $1.5 million deal with $1 million guaranteed.
|Footballguys view: Carrington was limited to three games by a torn quad last season but is a solid interior lineman who can rush the passer in between Robert Quinn and Chris Long.|
Alex Carrington player page
Rams | Zac Stacy hinted at being lead back Thu Mar 27, 08:14 AM
St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher hinted that RB Zac Stacy could be the team's lead back. 'I think over time, he'll probably be that 70-percent of the carries guy,' Fisher said.
|Footballguys view: Stacy may creep into the late first round of fantasy drafts this year. If the Rams draft road grader Greg Robinson at #2, his stock will go up.|
Zac Stacy player page
Rams | Jadeveon Clowney an option for top pick Wed Mar 26, 03:10 PM
St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher did not rule out the possibility of selecting South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney with the second overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
|Footballguys view: Why would he? Clowney is a potential generational talent and Chris Long is going to get very expensive very soon. Clowney is also the easy trade-up target if the Texans pass on him, so the Rams are smart to create the impression that they interest in selecting him.|
Rams | Shaun Hill contract update Wed Mar 26, 02:55 PM
Updating a previous report, the St. Louis Rams signed QB Shaun Hill to a one-year deal worth as much as $2.25 million. Hill will receive a $1.75 base salary.Link to story

Rams | Shaun Hill agrees to terms Wed Mar 26, 02:32 PM
The St. Louis Rams have agreed to terms with free-agent QB Shaun Hill (Rams). Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Hill is a major upgrade from now San Diego Charger Kellen Clemens. The Lions now have Kellen Moore listed as Matthew Stafford's backup. Mark Sanchez will not be reunited with the offensive coordinator (Brian Schottenheimer) who oversaw some of his better football in St. Louis.|
