Chiefs | Meet with Kurt Coleman's rep    Fri Feb 27, 02:27 AM

Free-agent SS Kurt Coleman (Chiefs) had his representative meet with the Kansas City Chiefs at the NFL Scouting Combine, and talks were positive. Coleman is likely seeking a deal that pays up to $2 million per season.

Footballguys view: Coleman had a good year as a reserve safety for the Chiefs last year. He led the team with three interceptions even though he only played 396 of a possible 1,086 defensive snaps in 2014.

Colts | Mike C. Adams wants to stay in Indy    Thu Feb 26, 07:24 AM

Free-agent FS Mike C. Adams (Colts) wants to stay with the Indianapolis Colts, according to a radio interview.

Footballguys view: Adams could generate some interest on the open market because of his Pro Bowl season in 2014 with the Colts. We think the Broncos would consider bringing him back (he played for them in 2012-2013) if they let Rahim Moore leave in free agency. The Colts would be wise to lock up Adams if they can.

Broncos | Several players not expected to return    Mon Feb 23, 06:15 PM

Denver Broncos impending free-agent DT Terrance Knighton, OG Orlando Franklin and FS Rahim Moore are not expected to return to the team next season.

Footballguys view: Knighton could move on to the Oakland Raiders where he'd be reunited with Jack Del Rio for a third time in his career. Franklin probably will get some looks at tackle again, and Moore might be a bit too pricey for the Broncos to keep around.

Broncos | Want Rahim Moore back at right price    Mon Feb 23, 02:37 AM

Free-agent FS Rahim Moore (Broncos) is wanted back by the Denver Broncos, but the team wants him to return at a more friendly price.

Footballguys view: There's not a great free safety class in free agency or the draft. The Broncos spent a lot of money on their secondary last year, so Moore is going to have to stay for a good price.

Seattle Seahawks FS Earl Thomas (shoulder) has yet to have surgery on the torn labrum in his shoulder. General manager John Schneider said Thomas will be limited in training camp, but he expects him to be ready for the start of the 2015 season.

Footballguys view: They'll take it easy with him, but as long as he is ready by the season, the Seahawks shouldn't worry too much. Thomas remains one of the best at the position and should be when he comes back from the injury.

New England Patriots impending free-agent FS Devin McCourty is a candidate for the franchise tag if the two sides are not able to reach an agreement by the deadline.

Footballguys view: The tag would come with an approximate $9.5 million price tag. It would keep other teams from scooping McCourty up on the open market, and it would allow the Patriots to have more time to sign the talented free safety to a long-term deal.

Seahawks | Kam Chancellor has torn MCL    Thu Feb 5, 12:00 AM

Seattle Seahawks SS Kam Chancellor (knee) played Super Bowl XLIX against the New England Patriots with a torn medial collateral ligament in his knee, as well as a bone bruise.

Footballguys view: A knee injury is a concern for a player in the secondary, and we've seen what Darrelle Revis went through to come back from a devastating injury. But come back he did and return to his former form. We'll see how long it takes Chancellor to get back on top.

Seattle Seahawks FS Earl Thomas (shoulder) said he won't miss the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots with a dislocated shoulder, but he also admitted that it won't be a normal game for him as he plays through the injury. Thomas is unsure if he'll need to have surgery this offseason for his injury. 'My mindset is I have an opportunity to really trust my teammates,' Thomas said. 'This is the first game I'm going to have to trust them because of my injury. So I really, really, really trust my teammates, and that's what I'm banking on, my teammates doing what they need to do and I need to come through myself.'

Footballguys view: We're expecting Thomas to be limited leading up to the Super Bowl on Sunday. The team won't want to push him too much in practice and re-aggravate the injury.

Footballguys view: Rex Ryan's new coaching staff is taking shape with some interesting hires. Of course, the one which could matter most is Greg Roman, offensive coordinator.
