Footballguys view: Peko said in an interview with TMZ Sports that he would like to play next to Aaron Donald with the Rams. The veteran defensive tackle has gotten little interest on the open market. Peko was a 16-game starter for the Broncos last year and had 31 tackles on the season.

Footballguys view: It sounds like they may be the only team interested. Footballguys view: Harrison has been staying away this offseason. He's owed around $16 million with two years left on his current contract. Something should be worked out between the two sides but perhaps Harrison is in line for only a small pay bump. We'll see if the Lions want to play hardball with the veteran run-stuffer.

Seahawks | Malik McDowell sued by Seahawks    Fri May 31, 10:34 AM

Former Seattle Seahawks DT Malik McDowell is being sued by the Seahawks alleging he failed to repay the team $799,238, the amount an arbitrator ordered the defensive lineman to give back to the Seahawks.

Footballguys view: McDowell has yet to respond to the arbitrator's ruling. A second-round pick in the 2017 draft, McDowell missed his entire rookie season after suffering a severe head injury in an ATV accident. He was waived by the Seahawks last July and spent 2018 out of the league. McDowell turns 23-years old later this month and it sounds like he wants to resume playing football.

Panthers | Carolina interested in Gerald McCoy    Sat May 25, 08:24 AM

The Carolina Panthers are interested in meeting with free-agent DE Gerald McCoy (Buccaneers).

Footballguys view: To go to a division rival of his old team might be sweet for McCoy, but it might also be conflicting. McCoy has said he wants to go to a Super Bowl contender, so we'll be watching to see if he gets their stamp of approval. The Panthers have resources tied up at defensive tackle with Kawaan Short's big contract, plus Dontari Poe and 2016 first rounder Vernon Butler, but the Panthers passed on Butler's fifth-year option earlier this offseason.

Jacksonville Jaguars DT Lyndon Johnson (foot) remains in a walking boot following offseason foot surgery but is expected to be ready for training camp, according to a league source.

Patriots | Gerald McCoy not an option for NE?    Fri May 24, 05:02 PM

Free-agent DT Gerald McCoy (Buccaneers) is not an option for the New England Patriots at this point, according to a source.

Footballguys view: McCoy would be an excellent addition for any team, and almost unfair for the Patriots to acquire, but it sounds like we don't need to worry about that possibility. The Patriots will rely on Danny Shelton, Lawrence Guy, and Mike Pennel at defensive tackle, with some snaps from Michael Bennett when he's not at defensive end.

Free-agent DT Gerald McCoy (Buccaneers) is scheduled to meet with the Cleveland Browns on Friday, May 24.

Footballguys view: The Browns are quite the attraction now with all the talent they've assembled on both sides of the ball. The Browns and the Baltimore Ravens are reportedly on the short list of teams McCoy would like to sign with, while the Cincinnati Bengals are also interested. There are reports teams like the Patriots and Colts are also interested. It shouldn't be long before McCoy finds himself a new home.

Free-agent DT Ndamukong Suh's pending signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is being delayed by Suh's previously planned trip to France.

Footballguys view: It will be officially official soon enough. Suh joins the Bucs to replace DT Gerald McCoy who the team let go on Monday. He played well last year for the Rams down the stretch, and Suh should be able to make quite a few plays in the Todd Bowles defense.

Jets | Quinnen Williams slowed by injury    Thu May 23, 12:12 PM

New York Jets DT Quinnen Williams sat out OTA drills Thursday, May 23 as he is deals with a calf injury.

Footballguys view: Williams was one of the best, if not the best, players in the 2019 NFL draft. The Jets used the No. 3 overall pick on the big defensive tackle and he should be quite disruptive for their defense inside. The injury is not believed to be anything major, and he was doing light work on the side during practice.

Free-agent DT Adolphus Washington (Bengals) signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins Thursday, May 23. Financial terms weren't disclosed.

Footballguys view: There is no shortage of interest in the veteran defensive tackle. Released by the Buccaneers on Monday, three teams (Bengals, Browns, Colts) seem to already be in the mix for McCoy's services. We should see him sign with a new team in the near future...likely on a one-year deal.

Free-agent DT Gerald McCoy (Buccaneers) has received interest from the Cleveland Browns, according to a league source.

Footballguys view: Released earlier this week by the Bucs, McCoy is already generating interest on the open market. He was due $13 million by Tampa this year and money was the main reason they let him go. McCoy won't get that sort of price tag now that he's a free agent but we expect him to latch on with a new team in the near future.

Free-agent DT Ndamukong Suh (Rams) is reportedly 'closing in' on a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Footballguys view: This move was expected by beat writers around the team...especially once the Buccaneers released long-time DT Gerald McCoy. New Bucs defensive coordinator Todd Bowles should be able to get strong play out of Suh.
