Redskins | Vita Vea visiting Washington    Wed Apr 18, 10:53 AM

Washington DT Vita Vea is visiting the Washington Redskins Wednesday, April 18.

Footballguys view: Vea is a big-bodied run stuffer who can regularly clog up the middle of the line. His size (6'4" 350 pounds) allows him to naturally eat up space and Vea can create middle pressure on the quarterback. We should see Vea go off the board in the first 15 picks of the 2018 NFL draft.

Broncos | Denver signs five free agents    Mon Apr 16, 06:50 PM

Denver Broncos exclusive-rights free agents LB Zaire Anderson, DE Shelby Harris, LB Joseph Jones, WR Jordan Taylor and OT Elijah Wilkinson were signed Monday, April 16.

Footballguys view: We're still monitoring Taylor in super deep dynasty leagues. The Broncos have seen plenty of turnover this offseason at the WR position, losing guys like Cody Latimer (Giants) and Bennie Fowler (Bears) in free agency. Taylor is recovering from offseason hip surgery but has always had good speed and concentration. We'll see if he can get more playing time in 2018.

Seahawks | Malik McDowell to be released    Mon Apr 16, 05:30 PM

Seattle Seahawks DT Malik McDowell (concussion) has not been medically cleared and is expected to be released in the near future, according to a source.

Footballguys view: McDowell had first-round talent, but off-field issues caused him to fall to the early second round...just in last year's draft. His rookie season was a complete wash as an ATV accident caused severe injuries that forced him to the sideline. An arrest in December for disorderly conduct didn't help his chances of making the team, and the Seahawks are ready to move on.

Florida DT Taven Bryan has visited with or will visit with 12 teams this month as well as having six individual meetings on Florida's campus.

Footballguys view: There's no question Bryan has incredible potential as a pro, sometimes drawing comparisons to Fletcher Cox (Eagles). Bryan is raw, but the strength, instincts and tenacity is enough to make NFL teams drool with anticipation. He should be a late first-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft.

Falcons | Atlanta checking out several prospects    Sun Apr 8, 10:32 PM

The Atlanta Falcons sent several members of their front office to North Carolina State's pro day Saturday, April 7, focusing on DT B.J. Hill, RB Nyheim Hines, RB Jaylen Samuels and DT Tony Adams.

Footballguys view: Hines would be an interesting situation to monitor if the Falcons picked him up. There's some Curtis Samuel (Panthers) to his game as Hines can line up as a receiver or make dynamic plays from the backfield. Samuels was his backfield mate for the Wolfpack, but he's a larger back (225 pounds) who can grind or catch passes. Both backs should go off the board in the third or fourth round of the 2018 NFL draft.

NFL | Maurice Hurst not called for recheck    Fri Apr 6, 10:35 AM

Michigan DT Maurice Hurst (heart) was not requested back for NFL Combine rechecks, which is a good sign, but doesn't mean he'll be cleared by every team.

Footballguys view: Great news for the potential first-round pick. Hurst is not the biggest defensive tackle (292 pounds), but he shines due to his quickness off the snap. He plays with a ton of energy and can create interior pressure on the pocket consistently.

Footballguys view: Vea is huge (340 pounds) and one of the most disruptive interior players to come out in the 2018 NFL draft. He'll be a first-round pick and may even get into the top 10.

Free-agent DT Ndamukong Suh (Dolphins) agreed to a one-year, $14 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams Monday, March 26, according to a source. Suh was offered more elsewhere but chose the Rams.

Footballguys view: The Rams get even scarier on the defensive side of the ball. Suh can play on a talented defensive line with Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers. Rams defensive coordinator is one of the best in the game, and he's got to be licking his chops when it comes to ways Suh will be used in 2018.

Rams | Ndamukong Suh leaning toward Rams    Mon Mar 26, 08:20 AM

Free-agent DT Ndamukong Suh (Lions) is leaning toward the Los Angeles Rams, but he hasn't ruled out the Tennessee Titans or New Orleans Saints.

Footballguys view: Suh is leaning towards the Rams, and that would be an incredible landing spot for him. That defense is already stacked and has one of the most well-respected coordinators in Wade Phillips. Adding Suh would be a nightmare for opponents of the Rams in 2018.
