Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross (hamstring) could return to practice as early as Sunday, Aug. 25, according to head coach Zac Taylor.

Cincinnati Bengals rookie RB Trayveon Williams (foot) will likely miss the remainder of the preseason, according to head coach Zac Taylor Sunday, Aug. 18.

Footballguys view: The team is optimistic that Williams will be ready for the start of the regular season. Williams is a great dynasty back to add in those formats. He's natural as a runner and was quite productive in college at Texas A&M. Williams should be the No. 3 running back for the Bengals in 2019 behind Joe Mixon and Gio Bernard.

But I just want to show that I can add value to this team in other ways and show that I want to contribute and can contribute.'

Bengals | Rodney Anderson ready to practice    Wed Aug 7, 02:54 PM

Cincinnati Bengals RB Rodney Anderson (knee) passed his physical Wednesday, Aug. 7, and has been cleared to practice.

Footballguys view: Anderson has talent as a runner but his football career has been held back by multiple injuries. He's cleared now and trying to earn a spot on the Bengals practice squad at least. If you play in a deep dynasty format, then keep tabs on a back like Anderson.

Bengals | Giovani Bernard held out Monday    Mon Aug 5, 08:01 PM

Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard (hamstring) was held out of practice Monday, Aug. 5, because he is dealing with a slight hamstring injury, according to head coach Zac Taylor.

Bengals | John Ross day-to-day    Sat Aug 3, 09:56 AM

Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross (hamstring) is listed as day-to-day because of a hamstring issue, according to head coach Zac Taylor.

Footballguys view: Ross has talent, speed and a nose for the end zone. He also has a long history of getting banged up. It's a make-or-break year for Ross and we'd like to see him healthy and injury-free for a full season.

Bengals | Billy Price returning to practice    Fri Aug 2, 12:10 PM

Cincinnati Bengals C Billy Price (foot) passed a physical and is expected to be removed from the Active/Non-Football Injury list and return to practice Friday, Aug 2. Price has been dealing with plantar fasciitis.

Footballguys view: This is good news for a Bengals offense that hasn't had much to be happy about in the last few months. Price was the first round pick last year and the team needs him to be a stabilizing force on a subpar line. His foot issue could flare up during the season so we'll be monitoring it.

Bengals | A.J. Green to miss regular-season games    Tue Jul 30, 05:26 PM

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (ankle) is expected to miss multiple regular-season games after head coach Zac Taylor revealed to reporters Tuesday, July 30, that doctors 'realized it's going to be a little bit longer (than initially expected).'

Footballguys view: This contradicts earlier reports that said he should still be available in Week 1. That always seemed a bit too optimistic since Green underwent ankle surgery. Some are saying that Green had a 'cleanup' procedure on his injured ankle although that's odd given he had ligament damage. Expect Green's ADP to fall from his current spot of WR15 (4.01) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Bengals | Tony Lippett headed to Cincinnati    Tue Jul 30, 02:30 PM

Bengals | John Ross likely sidelined two weeks    Mon Jul 29, 02:59 PM

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross (hamstring) could 'possibly' miss two weeks with a 'hamstring issue,' according to Bengals.com's Geoff Hobson.

Footballguys view: This is terrible news for Ross in a summer that could have seen him establish himself as a possible starter with good performances in place of AJ Green. The hope is that he'll be ready to go before the end of preseason to make a run at starting in Week 1 when Green is likely out.

Bengals | Hamstring bothering John Ross    Sun Jul 28, 09:03 PM

Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross (hamstring) was limited to position work to start training camp because of hamstring tightness.

Footballguys view: Ross being on the injury report is an annual tradition now. He has a big opportunity with AJ Green likely missing Week 1 and more, but if he can't stay on the field, players like Josh Malone, Auden Tate, and UDFA Stanley Morgan could get some first team snaps.

Bengals | Jordan Brown looked at by trainers    Sun Jul 28, 04:17 PM

Cincinnati Bengals rookie CB Jordan Brown (foot) was checked out by trainers while seated on a golf cart Sunday, July 28, after suffering an apparent foot injury.

Bengals | A.J. Green to get second opinion    Sun Jul 28, 03:47 PM

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (ankle) will get a second opinion on his injured ankle. He's not currently expected to require surgery, but he and the Bengals will get additional information before making a proper plan for his treatment.

Footballguys view: This is usually isn't a good thing. Surgery isn't on the table now, but Green might not have liked something about the diagnosis or felt it didn't match what he was experiencing. This situation could change, and not for the better.

Bengals | A.J. Green expected to be sidelined 6-8 weeks    Sun Jul 28, 03:41 PM

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (ankle) is expected to be sidelined six to eight weeks after tearing ligaments in his ankle during a practice at the University of Dayton's Welcome Stadium as part of the NFL's 100th-anniversary celebration. He isn't expected to be ready for the regular-season opener at the Seattle Seahawks.

Footballguys view: Green will fall out of the third round and maybe farther, a lot farther. Not only will this likely cost him games, but who knows how many games it will take to get to full speed, and the risk of re-injury. The sixth round sounds about right for where his ADP will level off.

Bengals | Tyler Eifert practicing Saturday    Sat Jul 27, 09:30 PM

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (ankle) participated in practice Saturday, July 27.

Footballguys view: It's great to see Eifert out there. He was almost back to old form before his injury last year and will at least deserve waiver wire speed dial status if not late round streamer value in drafts.

Bengals | Sprained ankle for A.J. Green    Sat Jul 27, 04:34 PM

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (ankle) is believed to have suffered a sprained ankle during practice Saturday, July 27, but will undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the injury, according to sources.

Bengals | A.J. Green carted off    Sat Jul 27, 03:30 PM

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (foot) was carted off the field after suffering an apparent foot injury during practice Saturday, July 27.

Footballguys view: It's not the foot he hurt last year, but this is still terrible news. Green had his head in hands after the injury on the cart and he left on crutches. John Ross would get a lot more opportunity if Green misses time, but he misses practice today with tightness. Tyler Eifert could also get targets freed up by any time Green misses - assuming he can stay healthy.

Bengals | Three more on NFI list    Fri Jul 26, 06:56 PM

Cincinnati Bengals C Billy Price (undisclosed), LB Noah Dawkins (undisclosed) and LS Clark Harris (undisclosed) were placed on the Active/Non-Football Injury list Friday, July 26.

Footballguys view: Price was banged up last year after being taken in the first round. A quick return to the field and strong summer is sorely needed after the Bengals lost this year's first round pick Jonah Williams - their projected starting left tackle - to a shoulder injury.

Bengals | Tyler Boyd lands new deal    Tue Jul 23, 11:38 AM

Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd will sign a four-year, $43 million extension, according to league sources. The deal will keep him under contract through 2023.

Footballguys view: The Bengals wrap up Boyd as he was in the final year of his rookie contract. In 2018, Boyd missed two games but did break out with 76 catches for 1,028 yards, and seven touchdowns. We'll see if he can build on those numbers in 2019 under the guidance of new head coach Zac Taylor (and with A.J. Green back at full strength). Fantasy GMs should look at Boyd as a WR3 with upside. He has a current ADP of WR28 (6.07) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Bengals | Joe Mixon primed for huge season    Sun Jul 21, 02:47 PM

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon is expected to have a breakout season is new coach Zac Taylor's outside-zone running scheme, in the opinion of Evan McPhillips of Pro Football Focus.

Footballguys view: The Bengals did suffer a blow on the offensive line when they lost first-round pick Jonah Williams, but overall the new offense should help Mixon, and he could be a more dangerous downfield receiver if he is used the way Todd Gurley was in Los Angeles while Taylor was on the staff. Mixon is worth consideration in the late first.

Bengals | PUP list an option for Rodney Anderson    Wed Jul 17, 03:18 PM

Cincinnati Bengals RB Rodney Anderson (knee) is a candidate to start the regular season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, in the opinion of The Athletic's Paul Dehner Jr.

Footballguys view: Anderson is a talented runner who can grind down an opponent with power and determination. However, his injury history from his college days at Oklahoma is a long one. Anderson has talent to be at least part of a RBBC at the pro level, but he's going to have to get healthy and stay healthy in order to do that. When healthy, Anderson will be No. 3 or No. 4 on the depth chart.

Bengals | Blood clot forced Clint Boling out    Tue Jul 16, 02:38 AM

Updating a previous report, former Cincinnati Bengals OG Clint Boling (leg) announced his retirement Monday, July 15 due to a blood clot in his leg that was discovered a few days after the end of last season, prompting a hospital stay. He said if it wasn't for that issue, there is no doubt he'd be playing in 2019.
