Cincinnati Bengals QB Jacob Dolegala worked with the first-team offense during minicamp Thursday, June 13, completing 12 of his 17 passes during team drills and displaying a 'big arm,' according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com.Link to story
Bengals | Cody Core back on the field Sat Jun 15, 09:23 PM
Cincinnati Bengals WR Cody Core (elbow) has been able to participate in minicamp.
|Footballguys view: Core will be battling with Auden Tate, Josh Malone and UDFA Stanley Morgan for a roster spot that could be only a John Ross injury away from playing time. He has mainly been a special teams contributor since being selected in the sixth round in 2016.|

Bengals | John Ross still struggling Fri Jun 14, 09:14 PM
Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross has had issues with consistency during spring practices, according to Jay Morrison of The Athletic.
|Footballguys view: Ross may be having trouble picking up the new offense, at least those are some of the rumblings coming out of Bengals OTAs. He needs to stay healthy and produce in what is a make-or-break year for the former first-round pick. Ross has the speed to take the top of the defense, and his seven touchdowns in 2018 showcase how that's the case. He's a boom/bust end-of-the-bench player as the Bengals No. 3 wide receiver in 2019.|

Bengals | Jonah Williams dealing with injury Tue Jun 11, 12:25 PM
Cincinnati Bengals OT Jonah Williams (unknown) got 'dinged up' in OTAs last week and isn't expected to participate in minicamp Tuesday, June 11. Head coach Zac Taylor said he doesn't know the extent of Williams' injury and declined to speculate any further until he hears from the team's medical personnel.Link to story
Bengals | A.J. Green cleared for minicamp Tue Jun 11, 12:10 PM
Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) has been cleared to fully participate in minicamp but won't do much beyond individual drills. 'I know what to expect from A.J.,' head coach Zac Taylor said Tuesday, June 11.
|Footballguys view: It's news we've seen before about Green, and Taylor just confirmed it on Tuesday. Green is going to be 100 percent for training camp, but he's just getting eased back in by participating in individual drills. We imagine his ADP will rise as the season gets closer. Green is currently going off the board at WR13 (3.06) in 12-team PPR leagues.|

Bengals | A.J. Green wants to stay in Cincinnati Sun Jun 9, 04:43 PM
Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green told reporters Friday, June 7, he'd like to remain in Cincinnati for the long term as he heads into the final year of a four-year, $60-million contract extension signed in 2015. 'I can't see myself playing anywhere else or playing in a different city. Hopefully, I can be here for a couple more years. We'll see on that part.'
|Footballguys view: Green could benefit from a revitalized offense this year, and he can certainly still play at a very high level. If the Bengals don't intend on extending him, they should trade him this year for picks that will help a team build under a first-year head coach.|

Bengals | Alex Erickson making plays Fri Jun 7, 10:56 PM
Cincinnati Bengals WR Alex Erickson has been a 'reliable presence' in the passing game during spring practices, according to Michael LaPlaca of Bengals.com.
|Footballguys view: Erickson is the No. 4 receiver for the Bengals and has been working for a larger role over the last few years. In 2018, Erickson had 20 catches for 167 yards and worked as a kick returner and punt returner. He should be in line for a similar type of role in 2019.|

Bengals | Hunter Sharp earns praise Fri Jun 7, 10:51 PM
Cincinnati Bengals WR Hunter Sharp was mentioned by head coach Zac Taylor as one of the players who has stood out during spring practices.
|Footballguys view: Undrafted out of Utah State in 2016, Sharp has bounced around the league a bit. He's been with the Bengals since 2018 but is buried on the team's depth chart. Sharp will have to have a great training camp and preseason to make the 53-man roster.|
Bengals | Ryan Finley not impressing Wed Jun 5, 11:28 AM
Cincinnati Bengals QB Ryan Finley 'looks bad' in practice, in the opinion of beat writer Paul Dehner Jr. 'There's just no way around it,' Dehner writes. 'It's still early, but not so early that we can't begin to wonder what is going on.'
|Footballguys view: The Bengals picked up Finley in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL draft. During his college career at NC State, Finley did not show well under duress. His set up time in the pocket was a bit longer than desired and he tends to wind up when throwing longer passes. Finley is a project who is nowhere near seeing the field in the pros. Looks like he could stick as the No. 3 quarterback for the Bengals behind starter Andy Dalton and backup Jeff Driskel. We're actually a bit more interested in undrafted rookie Jake Dolegala (Central Connecticut State) than we are Finley.|
Bengals | Tyler Boyd seeking big pay day Thu May 23, 11:25 AM
Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd is seeking $10 million per season in his next contract.
|Footballguys view: Boyd, a second-round pick out of PITT in the 2016 NFL draft, is in the final year of his rookie contract. He had a breakout season in 2018, finishing with 76 catches for 1,028 yards and seven receiving touchdowns in 14 games. The Bengals also have superstar A.J. Green in the final year of his contract. It will be interesting to see how all this shakes out and if they want to (or can?) keep both receivers happy.|

Bengals | Gerald McCoy an option for CIN? Wed May 22, 06:12 PM
Free-agent DT Gerald McCoy (Buccaneers) is receiving interest from the Cincinnati Bengals, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: There is no shortage of interest in the veteran defensive tackle. Released by the Buccaneers on Monday, three teams (Bengals, Browns, Colts) seem to already be in the mix for McCoy's services. We should see him sign with a new team in the near future...likely on a one-year deal.|

Bengals | Cincy signs Justin Evans Wed May 22, 04:20 PM

Bengals | No OTAs for A.J. Green Mon May 20, 02:46 PM
Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) will not participate during organized team activities, but there is a chance he will take part in minicamp, according to ESPN's Katherine Terrell, who adds Green 'definitely' will be ready for training camp.
|Footballguys view: No surprise here. Green is a seasoned veteran and a superstar receiver. He doesn't need every rep in the offseason, even with the Bengals learning a different system under new head coach Zac Taylor.|

Bengals | John Ross nursing injury Sun May 19, 08:21 PM
Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross (tightness) missed voluntary minicamp with general tightness.
|Footballguys view: Ross needs to show that he can stay healthy and avoid these injuries that have plagued him as a pro. He's never played a full 16-game season, but did make it through 13 games in 2018. Ross only had 21 catches last year but he had a whopping seven touchdowns. He'll work as the no.3 WR for the Bengals again this year with 'what the heck' flex appeal because of his incredible speed.|

Bengals | Rodney Anderson should be ready for camp Sat May 18, 05:50 PM
Cincinnati Bengals RB Rodney Anderson (knee) said he expects to be completely recovered from his torn anterior cruciate ligament by the time training camp begins.
|Footballguys view: Anderson tore his ACL two games into the season last year, so he should be close to 100 percent healthy by the time training camp rolls around. He's going to compete with fellow rookie Trayveon Williams for the third-string job behind Joe Mixon and Gio Bernard.|
Bengals | Cincy signs top 2 draft picks Thu May 16, 01:46 PM
Cincinnati Bengals OT Jonah Williams and TE Drew Sample, the team's first- and second- round draft picks, signed their rookie contracts Thursday, May 16. Additional signing terms were not immediately available.
|Footballguys view: Sample is your classic 'Y' tight end. He's a good blocker who uses strength at the point of attack. Sample needs to work on his routes but he's got good hands and decent upside as a pro. Monitor him in dynasty formats.|

Bengals | Tyler Eifert taking part in workouts Wed May 15, 03:46 PM
Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (ankle) said he has been able to most of the drills during the offseason workouts.
|Footballguys view: It's news when Eifert is participating in workouts. Everyone knows he's talented but he's as oft-injured as you can get. He's only played in 14 games over the last three years and has never played a full 16-game season. Eifert said he hopes to be 100 percent healthy for the start of training camp.|

Bengals | Cincinnati signs three UDFAs Sat May 11, 11:11 AM
The Cincinnati Bengals signed undrafted free-agent WR Ventell Bryant (Temple) and LBs Noah Dawkins (The Citadel) and Sterling Sheffield (Maine) Saturday, May 11.
|Footballguys view: Bryant has good size, hands, and routes, but lacks speed and has struggled with injuries. Matt Waldman favorite Stanley Morgan Jr is the favorite to win a receiver spot from the undrafted class, but Bryant will provide competition if he can stay healthy.|
Bengals | Cincy waives two players Sat May 11, 11:03 AM
The Cincinnati Bengals waived WR Charles Holland and LB Brandon Bell Saturday, May 11.Link to story
Bengals | No practice for Rodney Anderson Fri May 10, 07:06 PM
Cincinnati Bengals RB Rodney Anderson (knee) did not participate in practice Friday, May 10, and is not expected to do much this offseason.
|Footballguys view: This will likely be a redshirt year for Anderson, who has talent to be a second day pick but an injury history to go undrafted. The Bengals took him in the sixth despite having a strong 1-2 punch in the backfield. If he can stay healthy, Anderson should outproduce his draft position, even if it doesn't happen until his second contract.|
Bengals | Cincinnati announces four UDFA signings Fri May 10, 03:54 PM
Undrafted free-agent WRs Charles Holland (Tiffin) and Damion Willis (Troy), LB Curtis Akins (Memphis) and CB Anthony Chesley (Coastal Carolina) signed undisclosed three-year contracts with the Cincinnati Bengals on Friday, May 10.Link to story
Bengals | Cincinnati finalizes five rookie deals Fri May 10, 03:47 PM
Cincinnati Bengals fourth-round DT Renell Wren (Arizona State), fourth-round OG/C Michael Jordan (Ohio State), sixth-round RBs Trayveon Williams (Texas A&M) and Rodney Anderson (Oklahoma) and seventh-round CB Jordan Brown (South Dakota State) signed four-year contracts on Friday, May 10. Financial terms of the deals were not immediately disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Williams and Anderson would be very intriguing prospects if they weren't behind Joe Mixon and Giovani Bernard. Williams is a smallish back with a zest for pass blocking and Anderson is a big back who is an excellent receiver, but has faced multiple serious injuries. Both might be a lot better than their sixth-round pedigree suggests.|
Bengals | Jonah Williams working at LT Fri May 10, 11:50 AM
Cincinnati Bengals OT Jonah Williams is lined up at left tackle in workouts Friday, May 10.
|Footballguys view: This is a good move with Cordy Glenn not showing the most durability since coming to the team. Glenn can move to right tackle and make Bobby hart an overpaid swing tackle. Williams arm length isn't as big an issue at tackle as some have made it, and he's a battle-tested player in the SEC without as big a jump to NFL competition as some rookies. He was an ideal pick for them at 11.|

Bengals | Cincinnati scoops up Darrin Hall Tue May 7, 04:28 PM
Free-agent RB Darrin Hall (Browns) was claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday, May 7.
|Footballguys view: Hall (5-11, 225), a 2019 UDFA out of out of the University of Pittsburgh, had signed with the Browns on May 3 and was waived on Monday. He's a big back who has good acceleration and burst in a straight line. Hall has a couple of moves (like a spin move) to create his own space, but he's not overly fast and takes too much time to change direction. In super crazy deep dynasty formats we'll monitor his pro career.|
Bengals | A.J. Green to be fine for 2019 Mon May 6, 02:34 PM
Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) expects to be healthy and ready for training camp this summer after undergoing toe surgery in December, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
|Footballguys view: Good news for the veteran superstar here. Toe injuries are always tricky to deal with and take time to fully come back from. It sounds like Green is on the right track with no setbacks so far. We should see him eased into action when the Bengals get to training camp.|

Bengals | High ceiling for Rodney Anderson? Sat May 4, 09:47 PM
Cincinnati Bengals RB Rodney Anderson 'can be the best back' from the 2019 draft class if he can stay healthy, according to one NFL executive, and the executive compared Anderson to Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson.
|Footballguys view: Anderson is more like Stevan Ridley than he is David Johnson...and that's not a bad thing. In college at Oklahoma, Anderson was banged up quite a bit but he's a hard-charging back so that's to be expected somewhat. We'll see if he can stay healthy and impress as a reserve runner for the Bengals in 2019.|

Bengals | Adolphus Washington waived Tue Apr 23, 11:34 AM
Cincinnati Bengals DT Adolphus Washington was waived Tuesday, April 23.
|Footballguys view: Washington was a third-round pick in 2016 for Buffalo, but didn't make it to the end of his rookie deal. He should get into another camp, but his time in the league appears to be waning.|

Bengals | Ryan Finley met with CIN Wed Apr 17, 01:20 PM
North Carolina State QB Ryan Finley met with the Cincinnati Bengals leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft.
|Footballguys view: The Bengals may be looking to add a quarterback in the 2019 NFL draft. Finley might be a third-round pick in the draft and he's certainly a developmental prospect.|
Bengals | John Ross to get fresh start under new coach Tue Apr 16, 09:11 PM
Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross will get a clean slate to prove himself under new head coach Zac Taylor, who called Ross 'electric' during his college days.
|Footballguys view: There is no doubt, Ross has been a bust for two seasons with the Bengals. He's barely played (only appearing in 5 games) due to injury and only has 21 catches for 210 yards as a pro. Now, Ross did have a whopping seven receiving touchdowns in 2018 and that's a positive sign. Dynasty wise, we have not yet given up on Ross if the bench is deep enough. We'll see if he can stay healthy and produce at an expected level with this new Bengals staff in 2019.|

Bengals | Parris Campbell visiting Bengals Mon Apr 15, 08:11 AM
Ohio State WR Parris Campbell is visiting with the Cincinnati Bengals Monday, April 15.
|Footballguys view: The Bengals have the 11th overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft and Campbell could be an option for them there. He's a quick, speedy and athletic playmaker who can score anytime he touches the ball. Campbell is not a finished product as a receiver but his athletic profile makes him an interesting player to project in the pros.|
Bengals | A.J. Green to take it easy Sat Apr 13, 09:39 PM
Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) will likely be eased into action during OTAs, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com.
|Footballguys view: Green made it through just nine games in 2018. The team is wise to ease him back into action as he continues to recover. As we get towards training camp, Green should be near full speed. We should also see him extended some time before the start of the regular season as Green is entering the final year of the contract he signed in 2015.|

Bengals | C.J. Uzomah ready to thrive? Fri Apr 12, 12:47 PM
Cincinnati Bengals TE C.J. Uzomah was an offseason re-signing priority for the team as a highly-versatile player, and one beat reporter believe he could 'thrive' under the team's new coaching staff.
|Footballguys view: Uzomah finished the 2018 season with 43 catches, 439 receiving yards and three touchdowns. That was good enough to be the no.19 fantasy tight end in standard-scoring leagues. He'll be a TE2 once again for Fantasy GMs in 2019.|

Bengals | Andy Dalton eyeing camp Thu Apr 11, 09:59 PM
Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) said he will be ready to go when practices begin, and he has already been practicing the formations for head coach Zac Taylor's offense.
|Footballguys view: It's a make-or-break season for Dalton in 2019. His current contract runs through the 2020 season but the team wants to see how he operates in the new offense before talking about an extension.|

Bengals | A.J. Green takes part in workouts Thu Apr 11, 09:54 PM
Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) participated in the start of voluntary workouts.
|Footballguys view: Good news for Green, especially considering the Bengals are installing a new offense under new head coach Zac Taylor. Green should be the centerpiece of the Bengals passing game. Coming off an injury-shortened 2018 season, Green should be a WR1 for Fantasy GMs so long as he can stay healthy.|
