Titans | Dorial Green-Beckham lauded by Mariota Wed May 25, 07:30 PM
Tennessee Titans WR Dorial Green-Beckham impressed QB Marcus Mariota at organized team activities Tuesday, May 25. Mariota called Green-Beckham a stud and said he's gifted physically. 'Hopefully we can find ways to get him the football and let him do this thing,' Mariota said. Head coach Mike Mularkey said a bigger role for Green-Beckham hinges on his grasp of the playbook after the second-year receiver struggled with route-running last year. 'I think he knows that's a point of emphasis for him,' Mularkey said. 'He'll have a lot to say on whether he's that guy or not.'Link to story

Titans | Kendall Wright is heavier Tue May 24, 04:26 PM
Tennessee Titans WR Kendall Wright said he feels more explosive at his current 195 pounds, 12 pounds heavier than he was last season.
|Footballguys view: This is good news for Wright as he's been a player to get banged up too often. The Titans are going to use their "exotic smashmouth" offense to move the ball mostly on the ground, so we see Wright as low-end WR5 for fantasy owners. His current ADP is WR59 (13.07) in 12-team PPR leagues.|

Titans | Marcus Mariota has added weight Tue May 24, 03:19 PM
Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota is up to 225 pounds from the 210 pounds he weighed last year. Mariota said he'd like to stay at 225 pounds.
|Footballguys view: That's good for a player who may take more hits since he's a runner. Mariota turned in a strong rookie campaign last year, but he was hurt with two MCL injuries in his first season. Being heavier should help him absorb the NFL punishment he'll get on Sundays.|

Tennessee Titans OG Byron Bell (ankle) dislocated his ankle during organized team activities Tuesday, May 24, and he'll miss the entire 2016 season.Link to story
Titans | Jack Conklin signs rookie deal Mon May 23, 10:55 AM
Tennessee Titans OT Jack Conklin signed his rookie four-year contract Monday, May 23. Terms were not disclosed. All first-round deals have fifth-year options.
|Footballguys view: Conklin gives the team bookend tackles with 2014 first-round pick Taylor Lewan. He's arguably the best tackle in this draft class, and Conklin plays with strength, ferocity and nice athleticism for a man his size.|
Titans | Marcus Mariota comfortable with offense Fri May 20, 09:36 PM
Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota has been more vocal this offseason, according to TE Delanie Walker, and he looks more comfortable with the offensive system and is making quicker decisions.
|Footballguys view: We are excited to see Mariota in year two as a pro. His athleticism and improved weapons around him should help him perform even better in 2016. From a fantasy lens, his production could be capped by the nature of this offense. Their "exotic smashmouth" offense should feature plenty of RBs DeMarco Murray and rookie Derrick Henry. That doesn't leave a lot for the passing game. He's a mid-range QB2 in 12-team fantasy leagues.|

Titans | Zach Mettenberger waived Mon May 16, 09:47 AM
Tennessee Titans QB Zach Mettenberger was waived Monday, May 16.
|Footballguys view: Mettenberger has a big arm, but he can't throw it into the ocean standing on the beach. Some thought the Titans would trade away Mettenberger after they selected Marcus Mariota with the second-overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft. They signed Matt Cassel to back up Mariota, so Mettenberger became expendable.|

Titans | Justin Hunter may be limited Sun May 15, 04:39 PM
Tennessee Titans WR Justin Hunter (ankle) probably will be limited when organized team activities start later this month.
|Footballguys view: A second-round pick in 2013, Hunter has been a disappointment to this point in his career. The Titans have gone out and added talent to the position including free agent Rishard Matthews and in the draft with Tajae Sharpe. In only nine games last year, Hunter had 22 catches for 264 yards and one touchdown.|

Titans | Dexter McCluster should have role Sun May 15, 04:37 PM
Tennessee Titans RB Dexter McCluster should have a role on offense in 2016 even though the team added RBs DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry this offseason, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.
|Footballguys view: McCluster doesn't exactly fit their "exotic smashmouth" offense with Henry and Murray. However, if they use a change-of-pace back it should be McCluster. He may catch a few passes out of the backfield for the Titans, but we're not looking at him as a fantasy asset in 2016.|

Titans | Derrick Henry impressing teammates Fri May 13, 09:24 PM
Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry is going to be a 'monster' for the offense, TE Delanie Walker said, and C Ben Jones said he 'can't wait' to see what Henry does behind Tennessee's improved offensive line.
|Footballguys view: Henry is a monster as he's huge, fast and physical when he builds a head of steam. The rookie is going to work in the Titans "Thunder and Thunder" backfield with veteran DeMarco Murray. Henry is a two-down thumper who reminds us of former Giants RB Brandon Jacobs.|

Titans | Jack Conklin sees time at LT, RT Fri May 13, 06:10 PM
Tennessee Titans OT Jack Conklin has lined up at left tackle and right tackle since joining the Titans, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.
|Footballguys view: Conklin might be their best option at left tackle. However, former first-round pick (2013) Taylor Lewan might have something to say about that. Either way, the Titans have bookend tackles to protect QB Marcus Mariota for years.|
Titans | Dorial Green-Beckham dealing with injury Fri May 13, 05:01 PM
Tennessee Titans WR Dorial Green-Beckham (hamstring) has been limited by a hamstring injury this offseason, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.
|Footballguys view: Green-Beckham has WR1 upside if healthy as the Titans lead WR. The team will take it easy on him (wisely) as he deals with this hamstring injury.|

Titans | Delanie Walker contract details Thu May 12, 11:02 AM
Updating previous reports, Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker's new deal includes a $1 million roster bonus due Monday, May 16, and a $2.7 million guaranteed base this season, with up to $250,000 total in per-game roster bonuses. He has a $4.2 million base salary in 2017, fully guaranteed fifth day of league year, and up to $250,000 total in per-game roster bonuses. In 2018, he has a $500,000 roster bonus on fifth day of league year, a $5.4 million base and up to $250,000 total in per-game roster bonuses.
|Footballguys view: Walker picked a good time to top 1,000 yards for the first time in his ten year career. We think he has a shot to duplicate that, but see him as a TE2, as the offense matures past just dumping the ball to the tight end.|

Titans | Derrick Henry signs rookie deal Mon May 9, 01:15 PM
Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry, a second-round selection, signed his rookie deal Monday, May 9. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Henry adds to the Titans "exotic smashmouth" offense they want. He's a big back who is swift and powerful when he's able to build a head of steam. Demarco Murray is the team's starter, but they should find ways to get Henry on the field as a rookie. The two-down thumper can soften up a defense or close out games if you have a lead.|
Titans | Delanie Walker receives extension Fri May 6, 06:44 PM
Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker signed a two-year contract extension Friday, May 6, worth $14.7 million. The deal includes $8.2 million in guaranteed money.
|Footballguys view: Walker was quietly a strong TE1 in 2015, with an especially strong performance in PPR leagues. He is arguably the #1 target in the Titans pass offense, but often available outside of the top five tight ends.|

Titans | Tennessee moving on from Bishop Sankey? Thu May 5, 09:40 PM
Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey will share No. 20 with SS Kevin Byard during training camp, and the team isn't running a number-share program for its top players.
|Footballguys view: Good. Sankey was always a bad fit for the Titans offense. They've got DeMarco Murray as their lead back, they drafted Derrick Henry to be part of their "exotic smashmouth" offense and they also have second-year pro David Cobb in the backfield. Sankey is likely to be out of the league or playing for another team in 2016 as the Titans are certain to move on.|

Titans | Jack Conklin the right tackle? Mon May 2, 12:53 PM
Tennessee Titans OT Jack Conklin is expected to start at right tackle this year, with OT Taylor Lewan serving as the left tackle, according to general manager Jon Robinson.
|Footballguys view: Conklin can start on either side of the line. In fact, he may one day be seen as a better left tackle option than Lewan. The Titans may want the rookie to prove himself on the right side before moving him into Marcus Mariota's blind-side protector.|
Titans | DeMarco Murray still the lead back Sun May 1, 07:16 PM
Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray will still carry the load despite the addition of RB Derrick Henry, according to head coach Mike Mularkey, and Mularkey said he called Murray after the Henry selection to assure him that his role wasn't going to change.
|Footballguys view: His intended role for this year may not change (we shall see), but his dynasty value certainly takes a hit with Henry in the fold. We like Henry, but he's a new version of former Giants RB Brandon Jacobs. Henry is big, swift and powerful but he's a two-down player who needs room to operate. We're excited to see how he'll make the transition from Alabama to the pros.|

Titans | Derrick Henry viewed as other workhorse Fri Apr 29, 08:49 PM
Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry could be a second workhouse running back for the Titans in addition to RB DeMarco Murray, according to general manager Jon Robinson. Robinson hopes there will be enough carries for both to be workhorses and help shorten the game.
|Footballguys view: If Murray stumbles early, Henry could take over and be a very effective back. For now we think both backs will limit each other's value.|

Titans | Derrick Henry goes to Tennessee Fri Apr 29, 08:13 PM
The Tennessee Titans selected Alabama RB Derrick Henry with the No. 45 overall pick in the second round of the 2016 NFL draft on Friday, April 29.
|Footballguys view: The Heisman trophy winner is a huge back, and is a brutal guy to take down. Tennessee is going to ride him and use him to batter defenses. This is a team that will commit to the run to help keep Marcus Mariota from having to do everything. Unfortunately, with DeMarco Murray there, we may see a split backfield which kills everyone's value.|
Titans | Kevin Dodd taken by Titans Fri Apr 29, 07:20 PM
The Tennessee Titans selected Clemson LB Kevin Dodd with the No. 33 overall pick in the second round of the 2016 NFL draft on Friday, April 29.
|Footballguys view: It might take Dodd a while to get up to speed, but he's going to be a big help in the pass defense. Dodd is an aggressive, high motor defender who loves to get after the ball.|
Titans | Jack Conklin expected to start in 2016 Fri Apr 29, 04:17 PM
Tennessee Titans OT Jack Conklin likely will be the starting right tackle in 2016.
|Footballguys view: Marcus Mariota will rest a little bit easier though Conklin needs to improve his pass blocking.|
Titans | Pass blocking an issue for Jack Conklin? Thu Apr 28, 10:07 PM
Tennessee Titans OT Jack Conklin said he could need a little work on his pass protection.
|Footballguys view: Well, he'd better get on that. With that said, Conklin will be an asset when Marcus Mariota scrambles and runs.|
Titans | Jack Conklin the right fit for Tennessee Thu Apr 28, 09:45 PM

The Tennessee Titans selected Michigan State OT Jack Conklin with the eighth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft Thursday, April 28. The Titans traded up with the Cleveland Browns for this pick.
|Footballguys view: And Laremy Tunsil keeps dropping after tweeting out a video of himself smoking dope. Conklin benefits and the Titans continue to find options to help protect Marcus Mariota.|
Titans | Tennessee hosted Vernon Butler Wed Apr 27, 07:45 PM
Louisiana Tech DT Vernon Butler recently added the Tennessee Titans to the list of teams he's visited.
|Footballguys view: Butler is massive 6'4" 323 defensive lineman who can line up at multiple places and provide pass rush upside with a great motor and nose for the ball. He won't last long on the second day if he is even there at all.|

Titans | Might not pick up option on Chance Warmack Wed Apr 20, 10:18 PM
Tennessee Titans OG Chance Warmack has been one of the most durable linemen during his four-year stint with the team, but the team may be leaning against picking up the offensive lineman's $11.9 million salary that would become guaranteed for the 2017 season. If the team decline's Warmack's option, they still could negotiate with him regarding a contract extension all the way up until he hits the free agent market in March 2017.
|Footballguys view: The Titans will try to keep him but don't want to tie up so much in a position like Guard. They'll probably get a deal done prior to the end of the contract, but they also have plenty of time to put another option together.|
Titans | Host Kendall Fuller Tue Apr 19, 02:49 PM
Virginia Tech CB Kendall Fuller is visiting the Tennessee Titans Tuesday, April 19.
|Footballguys view: Fuller is one of our favorite CBs in this draft. He's athletic and tough, plus he can cover down the field. The Titans are now picking at 15th overall, and there's a chance that Fuller is there.|

Titans | Jack Conklin an option after trade? Thu Apr 14, 04:26 PM
Michigan State OT Jack Conklin could be a first-round target of the Tennessee Titans now that they hold the No. 15 overall pick, in the opinion of CBSSports.com's Jason La Canfora.
|Footballguys view: The Titans need offensive line help, and they now have six picks within the first 76 picks of the draft. Conklin is a fantastic tackle who could give them bookend tackles with 2014 first-round pick Taylor Lewan.|
Titans | TEN trying to trade down Tue Apr 12, 08:21 AM
Ole Miss OT Laremy Tunsil and Notre Dame OT Ronnie Stanley are two players the Tennessee Titans are torn between, and they are trying to trade down from the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft because of it, according to an executive of a team in the top half of the draft. Stanley may be the preference, but the team doesn't want to take him with the first pick in the draft.
|Footballguys view: The Titans could move down a few spots and still get a quality tackle like Tunsil or Stanley. Teams like the Cowboys or 49ers could be interested in moving up to the 1st-overall pick.|
