Titans | Two Titans WRs should be ready for camp    Thu Jun 14, 06:41 PM

Tennessee Titans WR Rishard Matthews (undisclosed) and WR Corey Davis (undisclosed) should be ready for the start of training camp after they missed some offseason workouts because of injuries, according to head coach Mike Vrabel.

Footballguys view: Davis has a lot of upside, and his ADP of 31 receiver off the board is attractive because we foresee a nice bump up his second year in the NFL. Matthews is a little less exciting, as we expect him to fall back to a No. 2 role with the team this year. He's the 50th receiver off the board in early drafts and that's about where he should be.

Titans | Dez Bryant welcome in Tennessee    Sun Jun 10, 10:04 PM

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) is 'most definitely' welcome on the Tennessee Titans roster, according to TE Delanie Walker. 'It's another element if they was to bring him to the team,' Walker said. 'If he can help us out, gladly I would welcome him with open arms.'

Footballguys view: The Titans may not have room (or not want) a veteran receiver like Bryant. Other than turning down a deal from the Ravens, Bryant hasn't gotten much interest since the Cowboys released him earlier this offseason. We think Tennessee is good with guys like Rishard Matthews, Corey Davis and Taywan Taylor as their top three wide receivers.

Titans | Derrick Henry, Dion Lewis viewed equally    Tue Jun 5, 02:50 PM

Tennessee Titans RBs Derrick Henry and Dion Lewis are considered 1a and 1b in the eyes of offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur.

Footballguys view: Bad news for fantasy owners here, especially dynasty owners who have been hanging onto Henry waiting for the backfield to be his and his only. Lewis was added in free agency to split time in the backfield with Henry. While Henry is a powerful and swift back, Lewis is a compact runner who can create space with moves in the open field. Henry has a current ADP of RB17 (3.08) and Lewis is at RB28 (5.10) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Titans | Kevin Dodd not at workouts    Sat Jun 2, 03:35 PM

Tennessee Titans LB Kevin Dodd has not participated in any of the organized team activities this offseason.

Footballguys view: A second-round pick out of Clemson in 2016, Dodd has only appeared in 18 games over the last two years. New Titans coach Mike Vrabel did not comment on why Dodd is not at the facility. The workouts are voluntary, but the reason Dodd's missing is unknown by those covering the team. We'll see if he shows up for mandatory work in a couple of weeks.

Titans | Blaine Gabbert top option for backup job    Sat Jun 2, 03:26 PM

Tennessee Titans QB Blaine Gabbert is the clear favorite for the No. 2 quarterback job over QB Luke Falk because of his experience.

Footballguys view: Gabbert has the experience to give the team veteran depth behind starter Marcus Mariota. He's not an exciting option if thrust into the starting lineup, but Falk has some work to do in order to be a good backup at the pro level. During his college career at Washington State, Falk filled the air with footballs...mostly playing out of the shotgun. Falk can make the 53-man roster if the team decides to keep three quarterbacks.

Titans | Kalan Reed likely to be on bubble    Sat Jun 2, 03:25 PM

Tennessee Titans CB Kalan Reed likely will have to perform well during training camp if he wants to make the 53-man roster, in the opinion of TitanOnline.com's Jim Wyatt.

Footballguys view: Reed was 'Mr. Irrelevant' (the final pick) in the 2016 NFL draft and has only appeared in seven games over two years. He'll be hard pressed to make the roster once again in 2018.

Titans | Corey Davis 'continues to impress'    Thu May 31, 08:25 PM

Tennessee Titans WR Corey Davis 'continued to impress' in OTAs Thursday, May 31, according to Jim Wyatt of TitansOnline.com, 'catching the ball with ease' and looking 'confident and plenty capable.'

Footballguys view: Davis had a disappointing rookie season in 2017. The 5th-overall pick last year, Davis has the physical talent to be a dominant force in the NFL. He should be a favorite target for Marcus Mariota this year, and Davis has a current ADP of WR29 (6.11) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Titans | No contract talks with Taylor Lewan     Wed May 30, 11:46 PM

Titans | Marcus Mariota trying to boost accuracy     Sat May 26, 11:23 PM

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota said he has been working on widening his throwing stance to increase his balance and improve his throwing accuracy.

Footballguys view: Mariota's accuracy isn't terrible with a nearly 62.0 percent completion rate averaged over the three years he's been in the NFL. He needs to throw fewer interceptions after getting picked off more in 2017 than he threw touchdowns. New Titans OC Matt LaFleur has worked under Kyle Shanahan and Sean McVay. We feel good about his ability to craft an offense that gets the best out of Mariota.

Titans | Nick Williams signed by Titans    Wed May 16, 02:17 PM

Free-agent WR Nick Williams (Falcons) was signed to an undisclosed deal by the Tennessee Titans Wednesday, May 16.

Footballguys view: Williams hasn't produced much as a receiver in the pros, but he can work on special teams. He knows new Titans OC Matt LaFleur from their days in Atlanta and Washington.

Titans | Rashaan Evans terms    Wed May 16, 10:43 AM

Titans | Rashaan Evans signs rookie contract    Tue May 15, 06:40 PM

Tennessee Titans LB Rashaan Evans signed his four-year rookie deal Tuesday, May 15. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: The Titans moved up a few spots to get Evans in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft. He's an explosive player who flies to the ball-carrier or the quarterback. Coverage skills are a work in progress, but he's an intimidating player who could make an immediate impact for the Titans defense.

Undrafted free-agent RB Dalyn Dawkins (Colorado State) and WR Cameron Batson (Texas Tech) signed with the Tennessee Titans Friday, May 11. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: The nephew of Hall of Fame safety Brian Dawkins, the younger Dawkins was a quick scatback for the Rams of Colorado State. Dawkins is a fantastic receiver out of the backfield, but at 5'8" 183 pounds he lacks the body armor of anything more than a part-time back.

Titans | Two Titans picks sign deals    Thu May 10, 05:35 PM

Titans | Blaine Gabbert likely the No. 2 QB    Sat May 5, 09:55 PM

Tennessee Titans QB Blaine Gabbert is the favorite to be the backup quarterback in 2018 ahead of QB Luke Falk, according to Jim Wyatt of TitansOnline.com.

Footballguys view: That makes sense for a couple of reasons. Gabbert has plenty of starting experience and gives them a veteran presence behind starter Marcus Mariota. Plus, Falk needs time to adjust and develop. He's a smart and accurate quarterback, with a dash of Kirk Cousins to his game. However, Falk took exactly zero snaps from under center in 2017 and has to get acclimated to the pro game.

Titans | Taylor Lewan could receive extension    Sat May 5, 03:05 PM

Tennessee Titans OT Taylor Lewan is a candidate to receive a contract extension this offseason because he is entering the final year of his contract.

Footballguys view: Set to make $9.3 million the final year of his rookie deal, Lewan is in for a raise. He could pass the bar that Russell Okung ($13.25 million) has set in terms of average annual salary.

Titans | Kendrick Lewis signs with Titans    Wed May 2, 12:15 PM

Free-agent FS Kendrick Lewis (Ravens) signed an undisclosed deal with the Tennessee Titans Wednesday, May 2.

Footballguys view: The Ravens let Lewis go over a year ago, and he was out of the league in 2017. Lewis had a thigh injury that limited him to just 17 snaps during his last year with the Ravens in 2016. There's no telling what the Titans are going to get out of the veteran safety.

Titans | Harold Landry may have early impact    Sun Apr 29, 07:40 PM

Tennessee Titans LB Harold Landry will compete with LBs Brian Orakpo and Derrick Morgan for playing time as a rookie.

Footballguys view: Landry is a more explosive, bendy edge rusher than Orakpo, who relies on a power game, and Morgan, who has good hand use and counter moves. Like Morgan and Orakpo, he has missed his share of time with injuries, but hopefully Landry rotating in can keep all healthier.

Titans | Four UDFAs sign with Tennessee    Sun Apr 29, 03:24 PM

Titans | Akrum Wadley joining Tennessee    Sat Apr 28, 10:33 PM

Undrafted free-agent RB Akrum Wadley (Iowa) reportedly agreed to terms with the Tennessee Titans Saturday, April 28.

Footballguys view: Wadley is a good jack of all trades depth back and the #3 back spot is wide open in Tennessee. He's got a good shot to make the final roster.

Titans | Deontay Burnett headed to Tennessee    Sat Apr 28, 09:22 PM

Southern California WR Deontay Burnett has reportedly agreed to terms with the Tennessee Titans.

Footballguys view: Burnett is a small slot receiver with some route-running prowess and quickness like former Titans Harry Douglas. He'll have to beat out Michael Campanaro (or have Campanaro suffer another in a long line of injuries) to have a chance to make the final roster.

Titans | Luke Falk goes to Music City    Sat Apr 28, 04:29 PM

The Tennessee Titans selected Washington State QB Luke Falk with the 199th pick overall (Round 6) in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Footballguys view: A quality producer at Washington State, Falk is a tall quarterback who will hang in the pocket, though sometimes given the poor protection, he should have gotten rid of the ball sooner. He's not very mobile either. Good touch on the short passes, but the longer he throws, the worse the accuracy. With Mariota there, he's not expected to produce this year, and if he has to step in, things are grim for Tennessee.

Titans | Tennessee selects Harold Landry    Fri Apr 27, 07:46 PM

The Tennessee Titans selected Boston College LB Harold Landry with the 41st overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft Friday, April 27.

Footballguys view: The tumble ends and the answer to "who isn't afraid of the medicals" turns out to be "The Titans." A little undersized for an edge rusher, but an outstanding value who has tremendous burst and will be a problem in the AFC South.

Titans | Tennessee drafts Rashaan Evans 22nd overall    Thu Apr 26, 10:26 PM

The Tennessee Titans selected Alabama LB Rashaan Evans with the 22nd overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft Thursday, April 26.

Footballguys view: Evans flies from sideline to sideline, and improved his footwork a lot last season. Stepped up huge in three straight National Championship games, and will bring that experience to help the Titans defense in the hopes to take it to the next level.

Titans | Tennessee picks up option on Marcus Mariota     Tue Apr 24, 12:09 PM

The Tennessee Titans exercised the fifth-year option on QB Marcus Mariota on Tuesday, April 24.

Footballguys view: Mariota is their franchise quarterback, so picking up the fifth-year option is a no-brainer. It will be much more difficult to determine what kind of long-term extension Mariota would get as he's set to hit the open market in 2020. We'll see if new OC Matt LaFleur can bring the best out of Mariota in 2018 and beyond. LaFleur is an exciting young coach as the first-time OC has worked under both Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan coming up through the ranks.

Titans | Tennessee met with Lamar Jackson    Thu Apr 19, 06:14 PM

Louisville QB Lamar Jackson had a private meeting with the Tennessee Titans shortly after his Pro Day.

Footballguys view: Jackson would be a great backup for Marcus Mariota but the Titans will have to use too high a pick for that to be worth it.

Florida State DE/LB Josh Sweat met with the Tennessee Titans Wednesday, April 18, according to a source.

Titans | Marcus Mariota's option will be exercised    Wed Apr 18, 01:09 PM

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota's fifth-year option will be exercised, according to general manager Jon Robinson.

Footballguys view: No surprise here. Mariota has yet to stay healthy for a full 16-game season and he's not yet played up to his full potential. The Titans hired Matt LaFleur to be their offensive coordinator, and he's worked under Sean McVay (Rams) and Kyle Shanahan (Falcons) during his time as an assistant coach. His creativity should allow Mariota to finally and truly break out in 2018.

Titans | More big plays for Marcus Mariota?    Sun Apr 15, 10:52 PM

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota is going to have more chances to make throws down the field this season, according to offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur.

Footballguys view: LaFleur is one of the brightest up-and-coming coaches in the NFL. He's worked with both Sean McVay (Rams) and Kyle Shanahan (49ers) during his time as an assistant and now gets to be an OC for the first time in his career. LaFleur could unlock the potential that Mariota has flashed during his time in the pros...and fantasy owners could see him make the jump to a low-end QB1 in 2018.

Titans | Dion Lewis expects to be involved    Fri Apr 13, 09:38 PM

Tennessee Titans RB Dion Lewis said both he and RB Derrick Henry will be used in the running game. 'Derrick's a great back and I'm happy to be a part of the backfield with him, so I think we can form a pretty good one-two punch,' Lewis said.

Footballguys view: Fantasy owners are pretty much used to Henry sharing time in the backfield. It was with Demarco Murray and now it will be with Lewis. Because of his skill set, Lewis may be the primary receiving back for the Titans. This limits the value for both backs, so adjust accordingly in your draft.
