The New York Jets have declared OT Brandon Shell, QB Bryce Petty, QB Christian Hackenberg, CB Darryl Roberts, LB Erin Henderson, DL Mike Catapano, RB Troymaine Pope inactive for Week 3.

Footballguys view: Brandon Marshall is active, but he is reportedly going to be on a snap count. He's a lower ceiling WR3/Flex this week and Quincy Enunwa might be a better fantasy start.

Jets | Brandon Marshall likely to be limited    Sun Sep 25, 09:18 AM

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall (knee, foot) is expected to be on a snap count for Week 3's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Footballguys view: Marshall is more of a boom/bust WR3/Flex but even on limited snaps, he should be for high leverage fantasy situations. Quincy Enunwa might be a better play than Marshall with the starter's involvement limited this week.

Jets | Bilal Powell ready to make an impact    Sat Sep 24, 09:30 PM

New York Jets RB Bilal Powell has five carries and three catches through two games this season, but he said he will be ready to handle a bigger load whenever he is needed.

Footballguys view: Consider Powell a high value handcuff while Matt Forte is taking the vast majority of the work. Powell is an excellent receiver out of the backfield and he was a low RB1 in PPR last year in November and December while sharing with Chris Ivory.

Jets | Matt Forte's early workload not a concern     Sat Sep 24, 12:32 PM

New York Jets RB Matt Forte is on pace for 472 touches this season, but head coach Todd Bowles is not among those worried about his 30-year-old holding up for the entire season.

Footballguys view: Bowles perhaps should be worried...and savvy fantasy owners should hold onto Bilal Powell tightly. If anything happens to Forte, Powell would take over with a huge workload and RB1 upside.

Jets | Brandon Marshall limited Friday    Fri Sep 23, 02:49 PM

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall (knee, foot) returned to limited practice Friday, Sept. 23, and will likely be a game-time decision in Week 3 versus the Kansas City Chiefs.

Footballguys view: Unfortunately, Marshall is playing in a late game, so you'll need a hedge from one of the seven games that start at 405 eastern or later, but know that Marshall has played well through injuries in the past. If he's active, he'll still be worth a WR3/Flex start at worst. Quincy Enunwa gets a bump to WR2 fantasy status if Marshall is out.

Jets | Ryan Fitzpatrick wins AFC award for Week 2    Thu Sep 22, 07:18 PM

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 2 after completing 24 of 34 passes for 374 yards and a touchdown in the team's win over the Buffalo Bills.

Footballguys view: Fitzpatrick has become a pretty decent play the first few weeks of the season, and despite the Chiefs' defense we like him as really nice QB2 play this weekend. We might downgrade him if we get an indication that Brandon Marshall or Eric Decker (or both) is out for the game, although Quincy Enunwa has been very good as well.

Jets | Matt Forte practices in full Thursday    Thu Sep 22, 06:43 PM

New York Jets RB Matt Forte (knee) practiced in full Thursday, September 22.

Footballguys view: Forte may not score three TDs this week like he did in Week 2, but with all these RB injuries he's still a RB1. Plug and play if you've got him.

Jets | Eric Decker limited Thursday    Thu Sep 22, 01:55 PM

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (shoulder) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 22.

Footballguys view: Decker could be the main cog in the machine this weekend, and we expect a big day from him if he isn't out due to the shoulder issue. Consider him a borderline WR1/WR2 against the Chiefs.

Jets | Brandon Marshall sits again    Thu Sep 22, 01:43 PM

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall (foot, knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 22.

Footballguys view: There's plenty to be concerned about for Marshall heading to Kansas City, and we may not know for sure until kickoff Sunday afternoon. If he is out, Quincy Enunwa gets a bump from a WR4 to a potential WR3.

Jets | OC not worried about Matt Forte's workload    Thu Sep 22, 01:21 PM

New York Jets offensive coordinator Chan Gailey said it is too early in the season for the team to start monitoring RB Matt Forte's touches.

Footballguys view: The Jets will ride him hard for a while and see how he does. Expect to see more of Bilal Powell around midseason, and keep plugging Forte into your lineups in the meantime. He's an RB1 right now, so you might as well enjoy it as the Jets use him early and often.

Jets | Brandon Marshall has multiple injuries    Wed Sep 21, 10:00 PM

Updating a previous report, New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall (foot, knee) is dealing with a foot injury in addition to the injured medial collateral ligament in his left knee.

Footballguys view: Marshall is tough, but perhaps it's best for him to take a bit of time off. Watch to see if he can practice Friday. Quincy Enunwa's fantasy owners need to get him on the field as a flex play in Week 3.

Jets | Matt Forte limited in practice    Wed Sep 21, 03:27 PM

New York Jets RB Matt Forte (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 21, but there is no concern about his availability for the Week 3 game against the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday, Sept. 25.

Footballguys view: Don't drop Bilal Powell just yet. The Jets are running Forte into the ground, and he's certainly a RB1 for fantasy owners as the backfield is clearly his. If something happens to Forte, then Powell would step into that large role.

Jets | Brandon Marshall not practicing    Wed Sep 21, 03:18 PM

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall (knee) was on the practice field for stretching and light warmups but did not practice Wednesday, Sept. 21.

Footballguys view: Marshall's status for Week 3 is up in the air. We could see more Quincy Enunwa if Marshall is banged up or out for the game against the Chiefs.

Jets | Eric Decker says he'll play in Week 3    Wed Sep 21, 01:27 AM

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (shoulder) indicated during a radio appearance that he's 'fine' and will be playing in Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Footballguys view: Decker may play, but we're still waiting on Brandon Marshall. Either way, Decker is a WR3 with upside if he plays. A banged up Marshall is more of a low-end WR2 if he plays in Week 3. Quincy Enunwa has been getting more work, and that could increase with these two star WRs banged up.

Jets | Matt Forte still thriving     Tue Sep 20, 08:20 PM

New York Jets RB Matt Forte has shown no sign of old age or wear and tear yet in 2016. He is third in the NFL in rush attempts (52), second in rushing yards (196) and tied for first in rushing touchdowns (3). It was suspected that RB Bilal Powell would take away a good chunk of Forte's touches this season, but that has not been close to the case so far.

Footballguys view: Forte is straight fire for his fantasy owners. He's a set-it-and-forget-it starter going forward as the clear lead back with the Jets. If you have the bench space, then make sure to keep Powell around just in case. He's a talented backup who could thrive in a larger role.

Jets | Brandon Marshall to be game-time call    Tue Sep 20, 09:22 AM

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall (knee) said he would need all the way up to pre-game warmups to determine whether he can play in Week 3.

Footballguys view: Fantasy owners never like to hear 'game-time decisions' for their players. Try to find other options this week if you have Marshall as your WR2. If he plays, he may be more of a flex option in Week 3 on the road against the Chiefs.

Contrary to an earlier report, New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall (knee) does not have a sprained medial collateral ligament, according to head coach Todd Bowles.

Footballguys view: Marshall will be watched closely as the team goes through practice this week. If healthy, count on Marshall as a high-upside WR2 in Week 3 against the Chiefs.

Jets | Brandon Marshall has MCL injury    Sun Sep 18, 07:58 PM

Updating a previous report, New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall (knee) suffered an injury to his medial collateral ligament in the Week 2 game against the Buffalo Bills, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. He is not considered a lock to play in Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Footballguys view: Players can grit their teeth and play through injuries during a game that eventually sideline them. Quincy Enunwa would be a solid WR3 if not WR2 against the Chiefs next week if Marshall can't go.

Jets | No concern over Darrelle Revis     Sat Sep 17, 09:31 PM

New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis allowed a 54-yard touchdown in Week 1 and an 84-yard touchdown in Week 2, but head coach Todd Bowles said he is not worried about two plays and knows Revis will be better.

Jets | Quincy Enunwa becoming a weapon    Sat Sep 17, 08:56 PM

New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa is the 'unsung hero' for the offense, according to WR Brandon Marshall, and WR Eric Decker said Enunwa understands coverages better this year and will be a 'huge weapon' going forward.

Footballguys view: Enunwa is a solid flex play every week in PPR leagues and he should retain value as defenses give him the easiest matchup every week to try to contain the Jets strong pair of starting receivers.

Jets | Brandon Marshall has slight sprain    Fri Sep 16, 08:07 AM

Updating previous reports, New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall (knee) has a slight sprain in his knee, which caused him to lose feeling for a period of time.

Footballguys view: Marshall's knee injury looked a lot worse than it ended up being. He should be fine with extra rest facing the Chiefs next week. We'll be watching for any signs that point in the opposite direction, like an MRI or missed practices next week.
