New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) said he felt good while working out before the game and expects to play in Week 3.

Footballguys view: Against a Bears defense, we could see Decker put up WR2/flex numbers in Week 3.

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) will be a true game-time decision in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears Monday, Sept. 22.

Footballguys view: Fantasy owners relying on Decker may have to go in a different direction tonight. If Decker plays against the Bears, he could put up low-end WR2/flex numbers.

Footballguys view: Milliner's absence is a good thing for Jay Cutler and the Bears. Both Brandon Marshall (ankle) and Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) are banged up, but fantasy owners should expect them to play.

Jets | Chris Johnson a full participant    Sat Sep 20, 02:43 PM

New York Jets RB Chris Johnson (ankle) participated fully in practice Saturday, Sept. 20.

Footballguys view: The Jets are going to want to attack the soft, squishy middle of the Bears defense and Johnson can do that. He'll also help the passing game when the Jets line him up outside. We see him as an RB2 though, because of the presence of Chris Ivory.

Jets | Erick Decker listed as questionable    Sat Sep 20, 02:38 PM

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) is questionable for Week 3.

Footballguys view: Decker claims he doesn't need to practice to play, but we'd worry about how much he does even if he gears up. The challenge is having another option in case his status goes sideways and he is deactivated Monday. If he plays we see him as a WR4.

Jets | Eric Decker does not practice    Fri Sep 19, 01:53 PM

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 19. Head coach Rex Ryan suggested that Decker would not have to practice to be able to play in the team's Week 3 game.

Footballguys view: You need to have Jeremy Kerley in tow to avoid a zero in case Decker is inactive, but at least one of the two should be a nice play Monday night against the Bears.

Jets | Team wants Eric Decker to practice    Thu Sep 18, 02:24 PM

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan wants WR Eric Decker (hamstring) to test his injured hamstring in the coming days. The team would like to see him participate in practice Saturday, Sept. 20.

Footballguys view: The team needs him badly going up against the Chicago Bears, but they need to know he is healthy too. Watch Friday's practice report to see what Decker is capable of. Mind you, he's not much better than a WR4 and due to playing in a Monday night game, you risk being stuck if you don't find a sub first. We don't like Monday night game-time decisions and this one isn't worth the risk.

Jets | Dee Milliner in full pads    Thu Sep 18, 12:19 PM

New York Jets CB Dee Milliner (ankle) is in full pads and may practice on a limited basis Thursday, Sept. 18.

Footballguys view: A good piece of news for the Jets as Milliner is going to need him at 100 percent against Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall. He'll need to step his game up though--Jordy Nelson burned him for two deep receptions on Sunday, including an 80-yard touchdown. Milliner would benefit from the safety getting over more quickly, but the Jets drafted him to cover top receivers regardless. It's easier to do that if he's healthy.

Jets | No practice for Eric Decker    Thu Sep 18, 12:18 PM

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) is not participating in practice Thursday, Sept. 18.

Footballguys view: The Jets have to be concerned, especially as his absence during the late stages of the loss to the Green Bay Packers. It wouldn't be a huge loss for fantasy owners as Decker was no more than a WR4, but we'd avoid him if there is no turnaround before Sunday. Unless you have Jets or Bears to plug in due to a late deactivation, you don't want to get burned by a Monday night game.

Jets | Eric Decker encouraged    Thu Sep 18, 09:31 AM

Updating previous reports, New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) was encouraged that he was able to do some jogging in the rehab area of the practice field Wednesday, Sept. 17.

Footballguys view: Decker has been rehabbing a lot over the last few days and the Jets are hopeful to have him against the Chicago Bears. The offense clearly missed Decker when he went out against the Green Bay Packers, so his presence would be huge. That said, we currently have him as a WR4 and if you do want to start him, make sure you have an option on the Jets or Bears since he could be deactivated Monday, after all your other options are gone.

Jets | Eric Decker could play    Mon Sep 15, 05:00 PM

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) could still play next Monday, according to head coach Rex Ryan. Ryan said he doesn't know the status of Decker's injury.

Footballguys view: So is this serious or not? One report says it could be some time before Decker plays, but this one says Decker could be ready for Week 3. Monitor the practice report as the week goes on, but if you're a Decker owner then make sure to have other plans.

Jets | NYJ RB trio splits snaps    Mon Sep 15, 11:47 AM

New York Jets RB Chris Johnson played 27 snaps in Week 2, while RB Chris Ivory played 27 and RB Bilal Powell played 17 snaps Sunday, Sept. 14.

Footballguys view: Ivory looked the best out of the Jets backs on Sunday, but this is a situation that could change from week to week. Johnson and Ivory are flex plays in this three-headed RBBC. Powell isn't worth adding to rosters just yet, but he could have value if either Ivory or Johnson get banged up.

Jets | Eric Decker update    Mon Sep 15, 08:16 AM

Updating previous reports, New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) injured the same hamstring that bothered him in training camp Sunday, Sept. 14. However, this injury is believed to be more severe and will have an MRI.

Footballguys view: Here we go again. Hamstring injuries are known to linger if not treated properly. The Jets will need to monitor him closely, and they certainly won't rush him back until he's ready. Decker's fantasy owners need to have other plans in place.

Jets | Eric Decker doubtful to return    Sun Sep 14, 07:26 PM

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury in the second half of the Week 2 game against the Green Bay Packers, and he is doubtful to return.

Footballguys view: Decker pulled up on a play and was grabbing at his hamstring. The injury didn't look like it was severe, but it was irritating Decker on the sideline as he was trying to loosen it up. The team decided it was probably better for him to sit for the rest of this close game.

Jets | Muhammad Wilkerson probable    Sat Sep 13, 02:34 PM

New York Jets DE Muhammad Wilkerson (back) is probable for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers.

Footballguys view: The Jets will need him both to harass Aaron Rodgers and contain Eddie Lacy, though hounding Rodgers is a bigger need given the issues at cornerback. We still think Rodgers will pick the secondary apart, but with some issues on the offensive line, this game might be closer than we expect.

Jets | Jace Amaro will be more involved    Thu Sep 11, 07:10 PM

New York Jets TE Jace Amaro will become a major factor in the offense eventually, according to head coach Rex Ryan. "I like to stay away from the production thing because a lot of things go into that," Ryan said. "But he's going to be a major factor for our football team, and probably very soon." Amaro had two catches on four targets for seven yards in Week 1 in his NFL debut. He's making the transition from being flanked out wide in college to having to block on running plays.

Footballguys view: An interesting note for fantasy owners here...especially those in dynasty leagues. Amaro is a talented move tight end, but his game is raw and he lacks the physicality to be an all-purpose player.

Jets | Dee Milliner not expected to start    Thu Sep 11, 02:29 PM

New York Jets CB Dee Milliner (ankle) is not expected to start Week 2 if he is able to play in the game, according to head coach Rex Ryan. Ryan said the plan at this point is for CBs Darrin Walls and Antonio Allen to start at cornerback.

Footballguys view: They need his help with the duct-tape-and-a-prayer secondary that the team has in place to go against the Green Bay Packers with Aaron Rodgers throwing to Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson. Even with Milliner, it's going to be on the defensive line to get pressure on Rodgers and help the secondary out.

Jets | Dee Milliner back on field    Thu Sep 11, 11:52 AM

New York Jets CB Dee Milliner (ankle) is participating in practice Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Footballguys view: Good news for the Jets who face a tough--and probably angry--Green Bay Packers offense coming off a brutal loss against the Seattle Seahawks. The Jets need all hands on deck with their sad-sack secondary.

New York Jets RB Chris Johnson played in 33 of the 70 offensive snaps inn Week 1. RB Chris Ivory played in 30 of the 70 offensive snaps.
