Jets | Eric Decker probable    Fri Oct 24, 04:23 PM

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) was limited in practice Friday, Oct. 24, and is questionable for Week 8.

Footballguys view: Decker should play and get less attention from defenses that will be interested to see how new Jet Percy Harvin is deployed. Decker is worth a look as a flex in PPR leagues against the Bills mediocre secondary.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley financials    Thu Oct 23, 07:45 PM

Updating a previous report, New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley's four-year contract extension is worth $14 million in new money, including a $3 million signing bonus.

Jets | Percy Harvin seeing shorter targets    Thu Oct 23, 07:35 PM

New York Jets WR Percy Harvin had just 3.08 yards per target through the air this year with the Seattle Seahawks, compared to 9.49 yards per target in his rookie season with the Minnesota Vikings.

Footballguys view: We'll see if the Jets change this strategy when using Harvin. We're not rushing to get him in our lineups this week. Wait and see what he looks like before you start relying on him.

Jets | Full practice for Chris Johnson     Thu Oct 23, 02:21 PM

New York Jets RB Chris Johnson (ankle) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 23.

Footballguys view: Johnson has been a bust in this offense and even when they use him correctly, he hasn't performed. He's a bench warmer for fantasy purposes, no better than a RB4 right now. Ivory aka "a bowling ball made of knives" is the guy to own in this offense and is a low-end RB2 or a great RB3/flex.

Jets | Eric Decker limited    Thu Oct 23, 02:10 PM

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) was limited for the second straight day in practice Thursday, Oct. 23.

Footballguys view: One of the many reasons the team traded for Percy Harvin is because Decker has almost never been healthy this year. We see Decker as a low-end WR2 play this week if he plays, while Harvin is no better than a WR4 right now until we see him in this offense.

Jets | Percy Harvin won't play 50 snaps    Wed Oct 22, 02:18 PM

New York Jets WR Percy Harvin won't play 50 snaps in his debut with the team in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills, according to head coach Rex Ryan.

Footballguys view: The Jets made an interesting move by adding Harvin here, but fantasy owners should wait and see how things work out before rushing to get him in the lineup. In the first week with his new team, Harvin is a low-end WR4.

Jets | Eric Decker limited     Wed Oct 22, 02:10 PM

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley's extension official    Tue Oct 21, 04:06 PM

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley officially signed a four-year, $16 million extension Tuesday, Oct. 21. Kerley will receive $5.4 million of guaranteed money. He has 22 catches for 201 yards and a touchdown this year.

Footballguys view: Kerley was nearing the end of his rookie contract, and now he's locked up through the 2018 season. The Jets just acquired Percy Harvin last week, and they added Eric Decker in free agency earlier this year. Even though the future of their quarterback position is up in the air, the Jets are setting themselves up at wide receiver.

Jets | Percy Harvin's role uncertain    Mon Oct 20, 02:24 PM

New York Jets WR Percy Harvin's role on offense will depend on how fast he can learn the playbook, according to head coach Rex Ryan. Ryan said Harvin will return kicks for the team.

Footballguys view: We'll see if the team wants to force the ball to Harvin. They may look to use him in as many ways possible since they lack explosive players on their offense. Fantasy owners are best looking at Harvin as a WR3/flex play until we see what he can do with his new team.

Jets | Percy Harvin deal official    Sat Oct 18, 06:54 PM

Updating previous reports, New York Jets WR Percy Harvin's trade to join the Jets is official.

Footballguys view: And there you have it. The Jets add a disgruntled--but incredibly talented--wide receiver to an offense that is in dire need of weapons. We'll see how he fits in alongside Eric Decker.

Jets | Percy Harvin gets fresh slate    Fri Oct 17, 08:12 PM

New York Jets WR Percy Harvin is onto his third NFL team, and he looks for more success than with the Seattle Seahawks. In Minnesota, he averaged 7.3 targets per game with 61.2 receiving yards per game and 34.2 yards per game after the catch (YAC). He ranked sixth in YAC. In Seattle, he managed just 4.5 targets per game, with only 25.0 receiving yards per game, 17.0 yards per catch and he ranked 99th in the league in YAC.

Jets | Jets on hook for Harvin's 2014 salary    Fri Oct 17, 07:57 PM

The New York Jets will pay WR Percy Harvin $7.1 million for the rest of the 2014 season, the last of the guaranteed money in a deal which runs through 2018. Harvin's salary for 2015 is $10.5 million.

Jets | Acquire Percy Harvin    Fri Oct 17, 05:43 PM

The New York Jets acquired WR Percy Harvin from the Seattle Seahawks Friday, Oct. 17, for a conditional draft pick.

Footballguys view: Harvin would seem to take a hit in value, but he wasn't exactly soaring with the Seahawks, and the Jets could be more inclined to force him the ball the way the Vikings did. Jermaine Kearse and Doug Baldwin both get bumps in targets, but the whole Seahawks offense loses an edge with Harvin's speed and big play threat gone. Rookie Paul Richardson's speed could help fill that void, but Russell Wilson seems like a less exciting fantasy QB today either way.

Jets | Chris Ivory has 100-yard game    Thu Oct 16, 11:48 PM

New York Jets RB Chris Ivory had 21 carries for a season-high 107 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 7 game Thursday, Oct. 16. He also added four catches for 18 yards.

Footballguys view: The Jets continue to give Ivory twice as many touches as Chris Johnson, and he is delivering as one of the better lead backs in the NFL right now. He's a strong RB2 if he can keep this up and the Jets can stay in games.

Jets | Jace Amaro doubled playing time in Week 6    Thu Oct 16, 02:29 PM

New York Jets TE Jace Amaro played 36 snaps in the team's Week 6 loss to the Denver Broncos after being stuck between 20 and 25 snaps in every game this year before that. He also doubled his season high in catches and scored a touchdown against the Broncos. Amaro could be emerging into QB Geno Smith's No. 2 target behind WR Eric Decker in the passing game.

Footballguys view: In a PPR league, Amaro was gold against the Broncos as he caught 10 catches. The yards weren't great considering all the targets (just 68)but he was targeted more than any other receiver in the red zone last week and that is a positive sign. We have him as a borderline TE1 this week despite Geno Smith being Geno Smith.

Jets | Jace Amaro probable tomorrow night    Wed Oct 15, 04:58 PM

New York Jets TE Jace Amaro (knee) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 15, and is probable against the New England Patriots tomorrow night.

Footballguys view: The Jets need all the help they can get. Amaro looked good against the Broncos last week. We'll see if he can carry that momentum over to this week.

Jets | Eric Decker limited at practice    Wed Oct 15, 04:41 PM

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 15.

Footballguys view: It's a short week for the Jets. They play against the Patriots on Thursday night. Decker has to be considered some sort of game-time decision. Fantasy owners planning on starting Decker need to have another option available just in case.

Jets | Chris Johnson fully participates    Wed Oct 15, 04:40 PM

Jets | Chris Johnson fully participates    Tue Oct 14, 04:39 PM

New York Jets RB Chris Johnson (ankle) was a full participant in practice Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Footballguys view: Johnson should be good to go for the Thursday night game against the Patriots. We're not going to recommend him as anything more than a 'what the heck' flex in Week 7.

Jets | Eric Decker limited at practice    Tue Oct 14, 04:38 PM

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) was limited in practice Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Footballguys view: Decker's hamstring is going to limit him for some time. That doesn't mean he's a bad fantasy start. We like Decker--even on a short week--as a WR3/flex play against the Patriots in Week 7.

Jets | Jace Amaro limited    Tue Oct 14, 04:35 PM

New York Jets TE Jace Amaro (knee) was limited in practice Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Footballguys view: Amaro was a spark for the Jets offense in Week 6 against the Broncos. We'll see if he can stay on track with Geno Smith on Thursday night against the Patriots. Consider him a TE2 with upside in Week 7.

New York Jets TE Jace Amaro (knee) was limited Monday, Oct. 13. The team did not practice Monday, but was required to provide the status of injured players if they had practiced.

Footballguys view: LOL at the NFL's 'virtual reality' practice report. Amaro was solid against the Broncos in Week 6. We're not as optimistic he can keep up that production level against the Patriots on Thursday night.

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) was limited Monday, Oct. 13. The team did not practice Monday, but was required to provide the status of injured players if they had practiced.

Jets | Dee Milliner to IR    Mon Oct 13, 03:38 PM

The New York Jets placed CB Dee Milliner (Achilles') on Reserve/Injured Monday, Oct. 13.

Footballguys view: The Jets already have a bad secondary. This injury won't help them hold up against the pass. Achilles' injuries aren't career-ending like they used to be, but it could be 9-12 months before Milliner is 100 percent.

Jets | Geno Smith will start Week 7    Mon Oct 13, 02:48 PM

New York Jets QB Geno Smith will start Thursday, Oct. 16, against the New England Patriots, according to head coach Rex Ryan.

Footballguys view: Nobody can say that Geno Smith is not tough. The Jets OL was helpless to stop Von Miller and the Broncos pass-rushers on Sunday. He was under constant duress and performed poorly because of it. We'll see if the Jets can protect him better in Week 7.

Jets | Geno Smith finding Jace Amaro    Mon Oct 13, 10:22 AM
