Lions | Franchise tag for Ziggy Ansah?    Sun Feb 18, 10:45 PM

Detroit Lions DE Ziggy Ansah could receive the franchise tag despite the fact it would pay him around $17.5 million in 2018 because the Lions have more than $40 million in cap space, according to Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com.

Footballguys view: By tagging Ansah, the Lions would then have until July 15th to work out a new long-term deal. A first-round pick in 2013, Ansah bounced back in 2017 with a 12.0 sack season after snaring only 2.0 sacks in 2016. The Lions don't have much depth behind him, so letting Ansah walk would be especially damaging for a team in need of pass-rushing help.

Footballguys view: The Colts have problems in the trenches on both sides of the ball and there probably isn't a player on the offensive line that is worthy of the #3 pick. Footballguys view: Davenport proved to be a better gamer than practice player and also was much better standing up than with his hand on the ground this week. Some of his rawness can be chalked up to coming from UT-San Antonio. If a team was considering him in the first round coming into this week, he probably is still seen that way after how his week ended up in Mobile.

Raiders | Oakland meets with Marcus Davenport    Wed Jan 24, 07:05 PM

The Oakland Raiders met with Texas-San Antonio DE Marcus Davenport at the 2018 Senior Bowl Monday, Jan. 22.

Footballguys view: Davenport is long (6'6" tall) and can bend and burst to the quarterback. The Raiders defense has talent and with new head coach Jon Gruden some of that talent should start playing better in 2018. Adding Davenport would give them a raw player with great upside. There is talk of Davenport going in the top 10 of the 2018 NFL draft, but he might slide to the late first or early second round.
