Bills | Ronald Darby signs Tue May 19, 05:26 PM
Buffalo Bills rookie CB Ronald Darby signed a four-year deal worth $4.6 million Tuesday, May 19, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: The Bills didn't have a first-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft, but they promptly scooped up Darby in the second round. He's a speedy cover corner with the hip transition to play off the line of scrimmage. Darby has good click-and-close ability when the play unfolds in front of him. The rookie has starter's upside, but this season he'll compete to be the nickel corner behind Leodis McKelvin and Stephon Gilmore.|
Chiefs | Marcus Peters signed Fri May 15, 06:22 PM
Kansas City Chiefs CB Marcus Peters signed a four-year deal with the team Friday, May 15. Financial terms were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Peters had a falling out with coaches at Washington, but most stories about him pre-draft said he is a good teammate. Andy Reid has plenty of experience with different personalities and should help Peters fit in as a rookie. He's a massive upgrade to the Chiefs cornerback position long term.|
Ravens | Kyle Arrington may be a target Wed May 13, 01:05 PM
Free-agent CB Kyle Arrington (Patriots) is receiving interest from the Baltimore Ravens.
|Footballguys view: Arrington could return to the Patriots at a smaller salary, but there will be other teams out there (like Baltimore) willing to take a chance on the veteran. The need at corner is there for the Ravens...and not just as a slot corner behind Lardarius Webb and Jimmy Smith. Webb is coming off a disappointing 2014, and Smith is recovering from Lisfranc surgery. If he's added, there's a chance Arrington could end up playing significant snaps for the Ravens in 2015.|

Patriots | Kyle Arrington released Mon May 11, 10:26 AM
New England Patriots CB Kyle Arrington was released Monday, May 11, according to a source. The team left the door open for him to return.
|Footballguys view: The turnover in the secondary continues for the Patriots. They will now be without their top three cornerbacks from last year - Darrelle Revis, Brandon Browner and Arrington. We could see Logan Ryan as the slot corner behind starters Malcolm Butler and Bradley Fletcher, although Arrington could return at a lower salary.|

Falcons | Jalen Collins signs first deal Sun May 10, 02:25 AM
Atlanta Falcons CB Jalen Collins, the team's second-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, signed his rookie contract Saturday, May 9. Financial terms were not made available.
|Footballguys view: Collins could have easily been a first-round pick in the draft. The Falcons crushed the draft in nearly every round, and Collins could develop into a fine starter for this team eventually.|
Falcons | Jalen Collins will be ready for camp Fri May 8, 04:40 PM
Atlanta Falcons CB Jalen Collins (foot) did not participate in practice Friday, May 8, for precautionary reasons but will be ready for training camp, according to head coach Dan Quinn.
|Footballguys view: It's a good move for the Falcons to take it easy here. Collins can be eased into offseason installment with an eye on full participation at the start of training camp.|
Packers | Damarious Randall misses practice Fri May 8, 03:54 PM
Green Bay Packers CB Damarious Randall (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, May 8, because of a minor ankle injury.
|Footballguys view: Randall was a bit of a surprising pick for the Packers near the end of the first round. He was a safety in college, but Randall will play cornerback for the Packers. Randall will get back out there once the ankle is better.|
Falcons | Jalen Collins sitting out Fri May 8, 02:05 PM
Atlanta Falcons CB Jalen Collins (foot) is not participating in drills Friday, May 8, since he underwent foot surgery earlier in the offseason. He expected to participate once the rookie minicamp began.
|Footballguys view: The Falcons had arguably the greatest draft of any team in the NFL. There's no need to rush Collins back here. The Falcons should just ease him into action with a goal of having him near full strength by Week 1.|
Texans | Kevin Johnson signs rookie deal Fri May 8, 08:35 AM
Houston Texans CB Kevin Johnson signed his four-year, $10.049 million deal with a $5.5 million signing bonus Friday, May 8.
|Footballguys view: Johnson is incredibly gifted athletically, and he can mirror wide receivers all over the field. He has the vision to understand the route as it unfolds, and he has the recovery speed to turn and burst in order to catch a receiver on a deep route. He could step in and contribute right away for the Texans.|
Vikings | Trae Waynes signed Thu May 7, 02:54 PM
Minnesota Vikings first-round draft choice CB Trae Waynes signed his four-year deal with the team Thursday, May 7, according to sources. Financial terms were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Waynes should be a great addition to an increasingly tough defense. He'll help shore up an already stout secondary (seventh against the pass per NFL.com) and make this a very dangerous group to face. We like pairing him up with Xavier Rhodes to give the team an athletic cornerback duo.|
Cardinals | Alfonzo Dennard claimed Thu May 7, 03:06 AM
New England Patriots CB Alfonzo Dennard was picked up off waivers by the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday, May 6.
|Footballguys view: Dennard has battled injuries over the course of his pro career, hampering his development. He has shown some moments, especially in press coverage, so the Cardinals could find a larger than expected role for him. Of course, he needs to stay healthy in order to start playing up to his potential.|
Patriots | Alfonzo Dennard to be released Tue May 5, 09:24 AM
New England Patriots CB Alfonzo Dennard will be released Tuesday, May 5.
|Footballguys view: A seventh-round pick in 2012, Dennard only started four games last season. He was inactive for nine games in 2014, and Dennard finished the season on Injured Reserve. The Patriots have now lost a combined 29 starts at cornerback this offseason with Darrelle Revis (16) and Brandon Browner (9) leaving via free agency and with Dennard (4) being released.|

Texas Tech WR Bradley Marquez, New Mexico Highlands WR Tyler Slavin, Texas RB Malcolm Brown, Texas State RB Terrence Franks, Iowa DT Louis Trinca-Pasat, Northwestern State CB Imoan Claiborne, Liberty FS Jacob Hagen signed undrafted free-agent deals with the St. Louis Rams Sunday, May 3.Link to story

Louisiana State CB Jalen Collins was selected 42nd overall by the Atlanta Falcons in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft Friday, May 1.
|Footballguys view: A nice fit for the Atlanta secondary who is a big corner who can match up with the big NFC South receivers.|
Falcons | Five players waived Fri May 1, 06:09 PM
Atlanta Falcons FS Brandan Bishop, OT Reid Fragel, CB Jordan Mabin, LB Jacques Smith and RB Ronnie Wingo were waived Friday, May 1.
|Footballguys view: The Falcons are just clearing roster space for incoming rookies and undrafted free agent rookie. None of these players were really likely to make the final roster.|
Cowboys | Morris Claiborne's status for camp uncertain Fri May 1, 03:38 PM
Dallas Cowboys CB Morris Claiborne (knees) is making good progress in his recovery from offseason surgery, but his status for the start of training camp is uncertain at this time, according to executive vice president Stephen Jones. Jones said Claiborne is still a part of this team but is not sure if the team will pick up his fifth-year option.
|Footballguys view: The Dallas Cowboys just drafted his replacement, so he'd best get cracking on the rehab. Byron Jones will help the secondary immediately while Claiborne has struggled much of his career thus far.|

Eagles | Philly made big push for Marcus Mariota Fri May 1, 12:51 AM
The Philadelphia Eagles offered the Tennessee Titans two first-round picks, one third-round pick, DT Fletcher Cox, CB Brandon Boykin, LB Mychal Kendricks and QB Sam Bradford in exchange for the 2nd overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: Chip Kelly tried as hard as he could, but it's difficult to move up from the 20th spot to 2nd overall. We'll see how Mariota works out with the Titans as he seems to be a bit of an odd fit. In Philadelphia, we would have been much more excited about Mariota's pro prospects.|

Cowboys | Byron Jones selected 27th overall Thu Apr 30, 11:00 PM
Connecticut CB Byron Jones was selected 27th overall by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.
|Footballguys view: Jones is a big, physical corner who can mix things up at the line of scrimmage. He's an instinctive player with a nose for the ball and a knack for breaking up incoming passes.|
Chiefs | Marcus Peters selected 18th overall Thu Apr 30, 10:06 PM
Washington CB Marcus Peters was selected 18th overall by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.
|Footballguys view: The Chiefs are continuing to build a decent defense. They still lack a wide receiver besides Jeremy Maclin, but there are plenty of those in the second round.|
Texans | Kevin Johnson selected 16th overall Thu Apr 30, 09:55 PM
Wake Forest CB Kevin Johnson was selected 16th overall by the Houston Texans in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.
|Footballguys view: The Texans continue to build an 'anti-Andrew Luck' defense and it's a good one. Johnson is a great cover corner and makes this tough defense even tougher. Now they just need offense.|
Vikings | Trae Waynes selected 11th overall Thu Apr 30, 09:20 PM
Michigan State CB Trae Waynes was selected 11th overall by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.

Eagles | Making big offer for No. 1 or No. 2 Thu Apr 30, 08:06 PM
The Philadelphia Eagles are willing to trade two first-round picks, a third-round pick, DT Fletcher Cox, CB Brandon Boykin, LB Mychal Kendricks and possibly other things in order to acquire the first or second overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
|Footballguys view: It wasn't enough. It seems insane that the Titans didn't pull the trigger on that trade, but they took Marcus Mariota. He's a great prospect so you can't blame him but that's a lot of talent left on the table.|

Dolphins | Chris Dunkley could fill need Wed Apr 29, 11:21 PM
The Miami Dolphins held a private pre-draft workout with University of South Florida CB Chris Dunkley, and they have worked out several skilled returners. Dunkley averaged 24 yards per kickoff and 8.5 yards per punt at USF.
|Footballguys view: Dunkley was a wide receiver until last year. He switched to corner in 2014, started 10 games for the Bulls and led the team with five pass breakups. Watch for him in the late rounds of the draft.|
NFL | Devin Smith comparable to DeSean Jackson? Wed Apr 29, 08:17 PM
Former Ohio State WR Devin Smith has drawn some comparisons to Washington Redskins WR DeSean Jackson ahead of the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30. "Smith might not be quite as fast as [DeSean] Jackson, but he's very fast," says Lance Zierlein of NFL.com. 'He has the ability to track the ball deep and consistently take the top off a defense is very reminiscent of Jackson."Link to story

Jets | To be fined in Darrelle Revis tampering case Tue Apr 28, 12:39 PM
The New York Jets will be fined $100,000 for the tampering case involving CB Darrelle Revis.
|Footballguys view: There's no draft pick being taken away from the Jets. At the end of the day, this is a small penalty for a team that was willing to get Revis at any cost.|
Darrelle Revis player page
Broncos | Tony Carter signs tender Mon Apr 27, 04:34 PM
Denver Broncos CB Tony Carter signed his restricted free-agent tender Monday, April 27. The tender is worth $1.542 million.
|Footballguys view: Carter is a reserve cornerback for the team who will only see the field in sub-package situations. He likes to take chances, can make big plays...but he can also get burned.|
Tony Carter player page
Bills | Jonte Green released Mon Apr 27, 04:22 PM
Buffalo Bills CB Jonte Green was released Monday, April 27.
|Footballguys view: Green was a sixth-round pick by the Lions in 2012. Earlier this year, the Bills signed Green to a reserve/futures contract. Getting released at this point in the season is not a good sign for Green's stock.|
NFL | P.J. Williams' DUI case dismissed Mon Apr 27, 01:27 PM
Florida State CB P.J. Williams' driving under the influence case has been dismissed, according to his lawyer.
|Footballguys view: This dismissed DUI didn't hurt his draft stock as much as his poor 40-yard dash (4.57) at the scouting combine. Williams can play press-man or press-bail coverage, and he's a physical corner who does not back down from a challenge. He's likely to be an early to mid second-round pick.|
NFL | Jalen Collins had surgery Mon Apr 27, 12:45 PM
Louisiana State CB Jalen Collins (foot) recently had surgery to fix an incomplete Jones fracture in his foot, which kept him from taking part in his school's pro day in March.
|Footballguys view: In recent weeks, we've seen Collins' draft stock take a tumble..and this injury is a big reason why. His surgery was expected to keep him out only for roughly three weeks. Collins might be a second-round pick, but some team could take him higher based on his potential.|
NFL | Jalen Collins failed drug tests in college Sat Apr 25, 09:24 AM
Louisiana State CB Jalen Collins failed multiple drug tests while in college, according to sources from four different NFL teams.
|Footballguys view: Collins already had questions about his draft stock after he had surgery last month to repair an incomplete Jones fracture in his right foot. He's one of the best cornerbacks in this draft, but these questions around his game could force him to be a late first-round pick.|
Eagles | Three UConn players work out Sat Apr 25, 02:39 AM
Connecticut CB Byron Jones, WR Geremy Davis and DT B.J. McBryde all worked out for the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday, April 24.
|Footballguys view: Jones is the player to watch here, and he could certainly be an option for the Eagles with the 20th-overall pick in the first round. He has great size for the position, measuring in at 6'1" 200 pounds. Jones is instinctive and has the ability to break up passes consistently. He's not an elite athlete, leading some to think that a switch to free safety might be in his future. Either way, Jones can make plays and will likely be a top-40 pick in the 2015 NFL draft.|
Ravens | Kevin Johnson visits Fri Apr 24, 02:23 AM
Wake Forest CB Kevin Johnson visited the Baltimore Ravens and worked out for the team, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: Johnson could be a first- or second-round pick in the draft. He lacks ideal weight for the position, but he more than makes up for that with instincts, speed and quickness.|
Redskins | Tray Walker visits Thu Apr 23, 02:34 AM
Texas Southern CB Tray Walker visited the Washington Redskins on Wednesday, April 22.
|Footballguys view: Walker has great size at 6'2" 180 pounds. He can press wide receivers on the line of scrimmage, but he does struggle to turn his hips in coverage on downfield routes. He's a late-round pick with the ability to move to free safety.|

Steelers | Three draft prospects visit Wed Apr 22, 02:51 AM
North Dakota DE Kyle Emanuel, Utah CB Eric Rowe and Ohio State CB Doran Grant all visited the Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday, April 21.
|Footballguys view: Rowe is one of the more talented defensive backs in this class and the Steelers are sorely in need of help there. He's a big, physical corner who might not be the best suited to mirror quicker or faster receivers in man coverage.|
Chiefs | Shaquille Richardson released Tue Apr 21, 05:20 PM
Kansas City Chiefs CB Shaquille Richardson (undisclosed) was released Tuesday, April 21, with a failure to disclose physical condition designation.
|Footballguys view: A fifth-round pick by the Steelers just last year, Richardson was picked up by the Chiefs earlier this year in February. An injury-riddled preseason with the Steelers led Richardson to being placed on the team's practice squad. The two sides reached an injury settlement last November which left Richardson free to sign anywhere. It's not a good sign that he made it exactly one day into the offseason program with the Chiefs.|
Giants | Chandler Fenner signs tender Mon Apr 20, 06:36 PM
New York Giants CB Chandler Fenner signed his exclusive-rights free-agent tender Monday, April 20. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Craig Robertson player page
Ravens | Two players sign tenders Mon Apr 20, 05:27 PM
Baltimore Ravens WR Kamar Aiken and CB Tramain Jacobs signed their exclusive-rights free-agent tenders Monday, April 20.
|Footballguys view: Aiken is the player dynasty owners need to watch here. Last year, Aiken caught 24 passes for 267 receiving yards and three touchdowns. At this time, Aiken will compete for the WR3 job in Baltimore behind Steve Smith and Marlon Brown. However, we expect the Ravens to add a wide receiver in the draft.|
Giants | Prince Amukamara almost at full health Mon Apr 20, 05:12 PM
New York Giants CB Prince Amukamara (biceps) said he's about 90% recovered from a torn biceps he suffered last season.
|Footballguys view: Amukamara only appeared in eight games last season. He injured is biceps in the Monday Night Football game against the Colts in Week 9. Amukamara still defensed 11 passes and intercepted the ball three times in 2014.|

Dolphins | Will meet with Byron Jones Fri Apr 17, 03:05 PM
Connecticut CB Byron Jones is scheduled to meet with the Miami Dolphins, according to sources.
|Footballguys view: Jones will have to pass a medical check after shoulder surgery knocked him out of four games during the last part of the 2014 season. He's got a good size/speed combination, and Jones does a good job of diagnosing plays that stay in front of him. He should be a first- or second-round pick in the draft.|
Bears | Trae Waynes visits Fri Apr 17, 03:06 AM
Michigan State CB Trae Waynes visited the Chicago Bears.
|Footballguys view: Waynes is one of the best cornerbacks in this draft class, and he's a lock to be a first-round pick. He's got good length, fluid hips and the speed to stay with any receiver downfield. Waynes also plays with great confidence and has a physical edge to his game.|
Giants | Waive two players Wed Apr 15, 05:27 PM
New York Giants LB Paul Hazel and CB Josh Victorian were placed on no-recall waivers Wednesday, April 15.Link to story

Raiders | Will meet with Marcus Peters Wed Apr 15, 01:40 PM
Washington CB Marcus Peters is scheduled to meet with the Oakland Raiders this week, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: Peters was kicked off the Huskies last year after multiple infractions with the coaching staff. He has the size, speed and athleticism to dominate on the outside. Some in the scouting community have compared his skill set to that of Aqib Talib (Broncos). The Raiders could use as much help in the secondary as they can even though they selected D.J. Hayden in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft.|
Falcons | Marcus Peters works out Wed Apr 15, 01:39 PM
Washington CB Marcus Peters worked out for the Atlanta Falcons Wednesday, April 15, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: Peters was kicked off the Huskies last year after multiple infractions with the coaching staff. He has the size, speed and athleticism to dominate on the outside. Some in the scouting community have compared his skill set to that of Aqib Talib (Broncos). The Falcons selected his former college teammate Marcus Trufant in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft. Even with his character concerns, Peters should be a first-round pick this year.|
NFL | Akeem King drawing interest Wed Apr 15, 07:54 AM
San Jose State DB Akeem King, a former wide receiver who converted to a safety, is drawing interest as a cornerback as the NFL Draft approaches. The Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks have all expressed interest in King.
|Footballguys view: King can play cornerback or safety at the pro level. He's got good ball instincts and can play close to the line of scrimmage. King is likely going to be a late-round pick or undrafted free agent.|
Giants | Josh Gordy signs Tue Apr 14, 05:53 PM
Free-agent CB Josh Gordy (Colts) signed a veteran minimum deal with the New York Giants Tuesday, April 14, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: Gordy has been with the Colts for the last three years, and he can play either cornerback or safety. With the Giants, we'll likely see him compete for playing time at safety.|
