Cowboys | Dallas not looking at Darrelle Revis Sun May 28, 06:05 PM
Free-agent CB Darrelle Revis (Jets) is not an option for Dallas Cowboys, according to sources inside the organization.
|Footballguys view: Just last week, ESPN New York reported there was no market for Revis because of last year's significant decline and whispers about his commitment. That comes from Rich Cimini, one of the most plugged in writers in all of football. Revis may be able to sign with somebody before training camp, but it will be for a deal that hovers near veteran minimum.|

Free-agent CB Justin Gilbert (Steelers) will be suspended for the first four weeks of the 2017 season, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: Gilbert was released by the Steelers in February, and he hasn't gotten a sniff on the open market. This suspension isn't going to help that matter. A first-round pick in 2014 (Browns), Gilbert has been a colossal bust.|

Steelers | Senquez Golson practicing Wed May 24, 01:00 PM
Pittsburgh Steelers CB Senquez Golson has not played since he was drafted in the second round in 2015 due to shoulder and foot injuries, but he is back at practice with the team and practicing as a slot corner.
|Footballguys view: Some in the scouting community thought Golson had Pro Bowl upside as a slot corner when he came out of Ole Miss in 2015. His future production level is a huge mystery as injuries have suffocated his pro career. Golson says he's fully healthy, and it will be interesting to see what kind of player he becomes on Sundays.|

Bengals | Dre Kirkpatrick sidelined 2-3 weeks Wed May 24, 12:04 PM
Cincinnati Bengals CB Dre Kirkpatrick (hand) expects to be out of practice for the next two to three weeks after suffering a small fracture on his right hand.
|Footballguys view: Signed to a five-year, $52.5 million contract earlier this year Kirkpatrick suffered the injury in what he describes as a "freak accident." He'll be out there for training camp and should have no problem when Week 1 of the regular season rolls around.|

Titans | Adoree' Jackson signs with Titans Tue May 23, 04:41 PM
Tennessee Titans CB Adoree' Jackson signed his four-year rookie deal Tuesday, May 23. Financial terms were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Jackson was arguably the most athletic player in the 2017 NFL draft. The Titans selected him 18th overall in the first round, and he should be an instant impact player on special teams as a return man. On defense, Jackson has the speed to cover anybody and the ball skills to make field-flipping plays.|

NFL | Darrelle Revis won't face discipline Mon May 22, 10:22 AM
Free-agent CB Darrelle Revis (Jets) won't face league discipline after felony assault charges were dismissed in March by a Pittsburgh judge, according to a league spokesman.
|Footballguys view: Charges were dropped in March, but the league wanted to conduct their own investigation with no wrongdoing found. He's not going to get suspended, but Revis is drawing zero interest on the open market. Teams may be questioning his commitment to the game after he seemed to mail it in last year for the Jets.|

Bills | Buffalo has several options at punt returner Sun May 21, 06:45 PM
Buffalo Bills WR Brandon Tate, FS Micah Hyde and CB Tre'Davious White all worked as punt returners during organized team activities last week.
|Footballguys view: Tate's best chance of making the 53-man roster comes on special teams. If he doesn't win the primary return man gig, then Tate isn't likely to stand out enough as a wide receiver to make the squad.|

Jaguars | Jacksonville worked out Alterraun Verner Sun May 21, 01:14 PM
Free-agent CB Alterraun Verner (Buccaneers) had a workout with the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, according to a league source.
|Footballguys view: The Jaguars are stacked at the CB position with guys like Jalen Ramsey, A.J. Bouye and Aaron Colvin. It's been three years plus since Verner was an All-Pro selection (2013) and things just didn't work out for him in Tampa. His resume gets him a job before training camp...maybe in Jacksonville.|

Bills | Buffalo signs Tre'Davious White Thu May 18, 02:10 PM
Buffalo Bills first-round pick CB Tre'Davious White signed his four-year rookie deal Thursday, May 18. Financial terms were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: White is the 12th first round pick to come to terms with his team, and it's some good news on a day when one of their other picks - receiver Zay Jones - is dealing with a knee issue. The team needed to counteract losing Stephon Gilmore in free agency to the Patriots and White has the potential to be a very good corner for a long time.|
Browns| Howard Wilson won't need surgery Thu May 18, 01:58 PM

Browns | Jason McCourty joining Browns Tue May 16, 05:31 PM
Free-agent CB Jason McCourty (Titans) will sign a two-year deal with the Cleveland Browns.
|Footballguys view: McCourty was bothered by groin injuries in 2015 that limited him to four games. Last year he played in 14 games, but he didn't quite look like his old self. McCourty should compete for a role with veterans Joe Haden and Jamar Taylor in the secondary.|

Cowboys | Chidobe Awuzie terms Tue May 16, 12:13 PM
Dallas Cowboys CB Chidobe Awuzie's four-year rookie deal was worth $4.283 million and included a signing bonus of $1.255 million. The total guarantee of the deal is $1.74 million. He has a base salary of $465,000 this year with base salaries of $659,708, $854,416 and $1.049 million from 2018-20.
|Footballguys view: Awuzie can make an immediate impact for the Cowboys defense. He's smart, always finds a way to the ball and can disrupt the play at the point of the catch. Awuzie is versatile, so expect the Cowboys to line him up in different spots as a rookie.|
Browns | Jason McCourty taking physical for Browns Tue May 16, 09:17 AM
Free-agent CB Jason McCourty (Titans) is taking a physical for the Cleveland Browns Tuesday, May 16, after having dinner with them the previous night.
|Footballguys view: Taking a physical suggests the two sides are close to a deal. McCourty was bothered by groin injuries in 2015 that limited him to four games. Last year he played in 14 games, but he didn't quite look like his old self. If added, McCourty would compete for a role behind Joe Haden and Jamar Taylor.|

Redskins | Several moves made by Redskins Mon May 15, 04:31 PM
Free-agent TE Manasseh Garner (Bills) and undrafted free-agent CB Tevin Homer were signed by the Washington Redskins Monday, May 15. In addition, LB Khairi Fortt and TE Wes Saxton were waived, while CB Tharold Simon was released.
|Footballguys view: Garner has bounced around to a few teams during his short pro career. He's mostly a blocker or H-back type of tight end and shouldn't make much of a fantasy impact if he somehow/someway makes the 53-man roster in Washington.|
Tharold Simon player page
Bengals | Five rookies sign with Bengals Mon May 15, 03:00 PM
Cincinnati Bengals DT Ryan Glasgow, PK Jake Elliott, LB Jordan Evans, S Brandon Wilson and TE Mason Schreck signed their four-year rookie deals Monday, May 15.
|Footballguys view: A seventh-round pick out of Buffalo, Schreck is known as a natural hands catcher and receiving tight end. He only had one drop on 59 receptions with the Bulls last year. He was the leading receiver in 2016, and now he hopes to make an impression for the Bengals. With his receiving ability and willingness to block, we could see the rookie work his way up the depth chart with time.|
Colts | More roster moves for Indianapolis Mon May 15, 02:47 PM
Free-agent OG Blake Muir (Falcons) and undrafted free-agent WR Al-Damion Riles (Louisiana-Lafayette) signed with the Indianapolis Colts Monday, May 15. Additionally, C Austin Blythe, WR Jerome Lane, CB Chris Lyles, OG Christopher Muller and CB Frankie Williams were waived.
|Footballguys view: Riles was the Ragin' Cajuns leading receiver in 2016 with 60 receptions for 729 yards and two touchdowns. He caught at least one pass in 29 straight games dating back to 2014 and was one of the most consistent players on offense. Riles was originally a safety and linebacker in college before switching to the wide receiver position.|
Eagles | Sidney Jones not rushing back Sun May 14, 04:36 PM
Philadelphia Eagles CB Sidney Jones (Achilles') said the team is taking a cautious approach to his return and want him healthy before he returns to the field, so there is no timetable for his return. Jones is able to lift weights and is focusing on regaining his mobility. He will have his walking boot removed next week and expects his rehab to ramp up at that point.
|Footballguys view: Jones has tremendous upside, but an Achilles' injury during his pro day will likely keep him out as a rookie. When healthy, Jones plays a lot like another former Washington CB - Marcus Peters (Chiefs) - because of his gambling style and casino cornerback play. Jones will take chances in coverage, but he can make plays and turns into an offensive player with the ball in his hands.|
Seahawks | Mike Tyson working at cornerback Sun May 14, 04:02 PM
Seattle Seahawks sixth-round pick DB Mike Tyson is practicing at cornerback this spring after spending most of his college career at safety. Head coach Pete Carroll told ESPN's Sheil Kapadia that Tyson reminds him a bit of former Seahawks CB Byron Maxwell.
|Footballguys view: Tyson lacks the recovery speed to cover downfield, but he's got the size (6'1" 204 pounds) and football instincts that scouts love. We see him more as a safety, but the Seahawks are known for moving versatile pieces around in the defensive backfield.|

Financial terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Golladay is big, swift and able to haul in deep passes. He'll be worked into a larger role with the Lions offense, but may be limited as a rookie. Roberts is a "Y" tight end who can block and was known in college at Toledo as a TD hog. Kaaya is a developmental quarterback who will compete with Jake Rudock for the primary backup job behind Matthew Stafford.|
Texans | Deshaun Watson, two others sign Fri May 12, 09:56 AM
Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson, LB Zach Cunningham and CB Treston Decoud signed their rookie four-year deals Friday, May 12.
|Footballguys view: Watson steps into a great situation with the Texans. They've got a great defense, and he's got incredible weapons around him like WR DeAndre Hopkins and RB Lamar Miller. Watson will compete with Tom Savage for the starting job, but we fully expect him to win the job.|
Cowboys | Dallas signs most of its draft class Fri May 12, 02:56 AM
The Dallas Cowboys signed draft picks CB Chidobe Awuzie, WR Ryan Switzer, S Xavier Woods, CB Marquez White, DL Joey Ivie, WR Noah Brown and DE Jordan Carrell to their rookie contracts Thursday, May 11. Third-round pick CB Jourdan Lewis is the team's lone unsigned draft choice.
|Footballguys view: Switzer and Brown are the fantasy assets to consider in dynasty leagues here. While Switzer plays more like Wes Welker, Brown has drawn comparisons to Dez Bryant because of his ball skills. Switzer can work as a return man in addition to duties as a slot wide receiver. Brown is not as talented as Bryant, but he is fast and able to make crazy catches.|
