Broncos | Von Miller to avoid contact for a while    Wed Jul 23, 04:42 PM

Denver Broncos LB Von Miller (knee) will not take part in any contact until the third preseason game at the earliest.

Footballguys view: This is no surprise. The Broncos want Miller healthy for the start of the regular season. He's coming back from the knee injury he suffered last year in the Week 16 game against the Houston Texans. If healthy, Miller should be one of the best pass-rushers in the league again after a disappointing 2013 season.

Broncos | Von Miller avoids PUP    Wed Jul 23, 02:52 PM

Denver Broncos LB Von Miller (knee) will not be placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list, and he has been cleared for limited work.

Footballguys view: Great news for the Broncos here. He looked to be ahead in the recovery process, and now he will get to be eased into practice at Dove Valley. If healthy, Miller should be a dominant force as a pass-rusher. Opposite of him this year will be free agent addition DeMarcus Ware. The Broncos will be able to put a ton of pressure on opposing quarterbacks in 2014.

Kansas City Chiefs OLB Justin Houston will report to training camp and not hold out.

Footballguys view: Charles is holding out, but Houston is not. The team wants to find new deals for both, and Houston might be first since he's showing good faith by showing up. Houston is set to hit free agency next year. He only has a $1.6 million cap hit in 2014.

Bills | Two signed, two cut    Mon Jul 21, 12:34 PM

The Buffalo Bills signed free-agent WR Naaman Roosevelt (Lions) and DT Landon Cohen (Bears) to undisclosed deals. The team released WR Ramses Barden and LB Nathan Williams.

Footballguys view: Barden's days in the NFL are likely over. He was an intriguing third-round pick by the Giants in 2009, but his size and wingspan never helped him at the pro level. Barden lacks the explosiveness and "my ball" mentality to stick around in the NFL.

Broncos | Four could go on PUP    Mon Jul 21, 11:43 AM

Denver Broncos LB Von Miller (knee), CB Chris Harris Jr. (knee), DT Kevin Vickerson (hip) and TE Joel Dreessen (knee) could begin the preseason on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

Footballguys view: We wouldn't be shocked to see all four of these players go on PUP to begin training camp. The Broncos want Miller and Harris to be ready for the start of regular season. Both are coming back from late-season knee injuries suffered in 2013. Miller seems to be ahead in the recovery process, but expect the team to take it easy on him when he does come back.
