Panthers | Devin Funchess feels he is healthy    Mon Jun 29, 10:02 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess (toe) cited a toe injury for the reason his numbers were disappointing in his final season at the University of Michigan. 'We never got to see the full Devin Funchess at Michigan because I did play one season at wide receiver, and I was battling through an injury,' Funchess said Monday, June 29. Funchess said his toe injury was a torn ligament with some cracked bones and ruptured cartilage.

Footballguys view: It wasn't just the injury, it was Funchess looking lost on the field at times. He's big, but Funchess doesn't win at the point of the catch with consistency. We'll see if he can flourish as the Panthers WR2 this year opposite Kelvin Benjamin.

Panthers | Big role for Devin Funchess?    Mon Jun 29, 11:28 AM

Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess impressed during offseason workouts and could have a big role in 2015. He played all three receiver positions, and his 6-foot-4 frame could create mismatches.

Footballguys view: The Panthers are hoping that Funchess can develop into a quality starting wide receiver opposite Kelvin Benjamin. The two have similar skill sets, but Benjamin was much further along as a wide receiver when he came out of Florida State last year. Funchess will body catch too many passes, and he lacks the "my ball" mentality that Benjamin has. We're intrigued by him as a developmental player but he'll probably only catch about 40 passes with a few touchdowns in 2015.

Panthers | Corey Brown expanding his game    Sat Jun 27, 09:42 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Corey Brown has developed into more than just a deep threat, according to TE Greg Olsen. 'Last year at this time, Corey was a guy where we said, 'Wow, he's fast.' This year he is a receiver,' Olsen said. 'The guy can play. He's not just a one-trick pony, a guy who is just going to run deep. He has a lot of natural instinct to him. He has a good feel.'

Footballguys view: The artist formerly known as Philly Brown showed some promise as a receiver in 2014 (36 targets for 21/296/2 receiving). The Panthers won't have a world-class passing attack, but Brown will be in the mix as a backup option.

Panthers | Kelvin Benjamin's weight gain overblown    Thu Jun 25, 03:50 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin's reported weight gain this offseason is being overblown, according to general manager Dave Gettleman. Gettleman expects Benjamin to be ready to go for training camp next month. A team source said Benjamin, who played at 245 pounds as a rookie last year, showed up to workouts in April nine pounds overweight. 'It really is much ado about nothing. Right now he's only five pounds off his playing weight. That's it,' Gettleman said after the team wrapped up their three-day minicamp. Benjamin has had weight problems before, as he took a redshirt year in college after being 20 pounds overweight. He had 73 catches for 1,008 yards and nine touchdowns in 2014, but he missed 10 of 14 practices during organized team activities and minicamp with injuries to both his hamstrings.

Footballguys view: We suspected this all along. Guys show up with a little bit of bad weight after the offseason and it makes the papers. Benjamin is set to be Cam Newton's favorite target again this season, and he'll build off the experience he gained last year as a rookie. We like Benjamin's current ADP of WR16 (3.10) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Panthers | Cam Newton to be turned loose    Fri Jun 19, 09:48 PM

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton won't run less in 2015 because of the contract extension he received, general manager Dave Gettleman said. 'He's got to be Cam,' Gettleman said. 'You don't hold back a thoroughbred, you don't.'

Footballguys view: Great news, let's see this happen! Newton is best when he's fearless as a runner or passer. If he's not worried about rushing the ball, he should be more productive. We'll see if he can finish as a top-5 fantasy QB this season.

Panthers | Cam Newton works on footwork    Fri Jun 19, 09:14 AM

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton has better footwork and decision making in what head coach Ron Rivera called the best he has seen from Newton in practice this week. 'I think it's all part of his growth,' said Rivera. 'Again, he's a young man. He came into this league after playing only one year of major-college football. I think it's been good for him. I think his development is really headed in the right direction and again the big plus is we've had him (healthy) for all the OTAs (organized team activities) and minicamp this year.'

Footballguys view: All reports out of Panthers camp indicate that Newton may be taking his game to another level this year. The team has put better weapons around him in the passing game, and Newton seems intent on cleaning up the parts of his game that need the most work. Newton is coming off the board at QB7 (7.02) in 12-team PPR leagues right now, but he may finish as a top-5 fantasy quarterback as he did in both 2011 and 2012 (4th-best in those seasons).

Panthers | Kelvin Benjamin reported overweight    Thu Jun 18, 10:59 AM

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (hamstring) showed up 8 or 9 pounds overweight, and head coach Ron Rivera believes Benjamin's hamstring injury could be a result of that. 'It could be as simple as weight,' Rivera said in an attempt to explain why Benjamin suffered another hamstring injury just as he returned from one. 'He did come in a little heavy and he had to work himself into shape. Or diet or something. We're going to take a look at it and make sure it's not a chronic issue with him. He's too good a football player to have on the sideline.'

Footballguys view: That's a concern. Already a beefy guy, Benjamin can't really afford to come in heavy. Plus, it also could be a sign that he isn't taking his off-field work seriously enough. Young players often don't understand the year-round effort required in the arena of body maintenance. And yes, carrying the extra weight will not only impact his hamstrings and legs, but his back as well. We have him as a strong WR2 right now, but this storyline bears watching.

Panthers | Tyronne Green out for season    Wed Jun 17, 05:43 PM

Carolina Panthers OG Tyronne Green (Achilles') is out for the year with a torn Achilles' tendon he suffered Tuesday, June 16.

Footballguys view: Green was competing for a roster spot with the Panthers, and this news isn't overly devastating. He hasn't played in the NFL since he started about a dozen games for the San Diego Chargers in 2012.

Panthers | Stephen Hill impresses coach    Wed Jun 17, 12:24 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Stephen Hill has been one of the standout performers during offseason workouts, according to head coach Ron Rivera.

Footballguys view: Hill followed in the footsteps of greats like Calvin Johnson and Demaryius Thomas at Georgia Tech. Injuries and inconsistencies have plagued his career to this point, but it sounds like he may be turning things around. A second-round pick of the Jets in 2012, Hill was on the Panthers practice squad last year. In super deep dynasty leagues we'd go ahead and buy low just out of curiosity.

Panthers | Kelvin Benjamin misses practice    Wed Jun 17, 12:10 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (hamstring) did not take part in practice Wednesday, June 17, because of a hamstring injury.

Footballguys view: Good thing for Benjamin, this is not the hamstring he injured earlier this offseason. With minicamps and OTAs about wrapped up, there's no need for the Panthers to rush Benjamin back.

Panthers | Kelvin Benjamin readying for grind    Sat Jun 13, 10:14 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin is working on ways to take care of his body better this offseason in order to handle the grind of a 16-game schedule. He is also working on running better routes.

Footballguys view: Benjamin put up a strong season last year as a rookie. This year, he's looking to build off that start. We think Benjamin should go over 1,000 yards receiving again this year. A favorite of QB Cam Newton, Benjamin should snare about 75-80 catches this year. We also feel he could grab about 8-10 touchdowns this season because of his size, wingspan and leaping ability.

Panthers | Confident in Cameron Artis-Payne    Sat Jun 13, 10:07 PM

Carolina Panthers RB Cameron Artis-Payne can carry the load in the event of an injury to RB Jonathan Stewart, according to head coach Ron Rivera.

Footballguys view: The rookie from Auburn has good burst and a hard-charging running style. He runs with good foot frequency and is tough to bring down when he builds momentum. Artis-Payne does lack patience as a runner at times as he's constantly looking to make a big play. He'll compete with Fozzy Whittaker for the primary backup job behind Stewart.

Panthers | Corey Brown could be deep threat    Sat Jun 13, 10:06 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Corey Brown (formerly known as Philly Brown) has big-play speed and he has run more precise routes during offseason workouts. He has developed a nice rapport with QB Cam Newton and he could potentially be a deep threat, more so than WR Ted Ginn Jr.

Footballguys view: We're not expecting much from Brown this season. He's currently fourth on the depth chart behind Kelvin Benjamin, Devin Funchess and Jerricho Cotchery. In fact, there's little change for Brown to rise up the depth chart outside of injury.

Panthers | Shaq Thompson returns to practice    Thu Jun 11, 02:08 PM

Carolina Panthers LB Shaq Thompson (hamstring) participated in practice Thursday, June 11.

Footballguys view: Thompson's debut was delayed by the hamstring as well as the end of Washington's school year. With Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis this could be a dangerous group of linebackers. We love that Thompson can play a Kam Chancellor-like role for the Panthers defense.

Panthers | Kelvin Benjamin takes part in practice    Thu Jun 11, 02:06 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (hamstring) participated in practice Thursday, June 11.

Footballguys view: The Panthers are counting on Benjamin, who was one of three rookie receivers to go over 1,000 yards last season. He, along with rookie David Funchess, could form the core of a very nice receiving group down the road. Hamstring or not, Benjamin is hovering as a WR2 in early drafts, going in the mid to late third round.

Panthers | Signing Scott Simonson     Tue Jun 9, 04:55 PM

Free-agent TE Scott Simonson (Raiders) is signing a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Simonson spent almost all of the 2014 season on the Raiders practice squad. They did activate him for the last four games of the regular season, but he did not have a reception while playing only 21 snaps. He'll give the Panthers some tight end depth and compete on special teams if he makes the final roster.

Panthers | Devin Funchess making progress     Mon Jun 8, 06:59 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess has been working at all three wide receiver positions during organized team activities and looks comfortable at each of the positions. Funchess has been working with the first-team offense during the workouts and is receiving extra reps because of injuries. Funchess has developed good chemistry with QB Cam Newton this offseason.

Footballguys view: It's no mystery, Funchess needs a lot of work as a pro wide receiver. The rookie from Michigan needs to refine his route-running ability and show better use of his frame to "box out" smaller defenders. We're interested to see if Funchess can develop into a decent WR2 opposite Kelvin Benjamin.

Panthers | Kelvin Benjamin returning soon    Mon Jun 8, 03:58 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (hamstring) may return to full participation in organized team activities Tuesday, June 9, after taking some repetitions Monday, June 8.

Footballguys view: Benjamin injured his hamstring last month and has not participated in OTAs. He was Cam Newton's favorite target last year, and the Panthers are expecting him to take another step in his sophomore season with the team.

Panthers | Kelvin Benjamin out again    Thu Jun 4, 11:09 AM

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (hamstring) is out of practice Thursday, June 4.

Footballguys view: The Panthers would love to have him in OTAs, but there's no rush. Benjamin will be healthy for training camp and currently his ADP is 3.07, reflecting the expectation of owners that he can replicate his 2014 numbers and be a solid WR2.

Panthers | Cam Newton's cap numbers    Wed Jun 3, 10:27 AM

Updating previous reports, Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton's new deal yields salary cap numbers of: $13 million, $19.5 million, $20.166 million, $21.5 million, $23.2 million and $21.1 million.

Panthers | Kevin Greene waived    Tue Jun 2, 05:42 PM

Carolina Panthers TE Kevin Greene was waived Tuesday, June 2.

Footballguys view: An undrafted free agent out of USC in 2014, Greene has bounced around the league during his brief time in the pros. A converted linebacker/defensive end, Greene is incredibly raw as he's only been playing tight end for two years. We'll see if another team wants to take a chance on him as a developmental prospect.

Panthers | Cam Newton financials    Tue Jun 2, 04:55 PM

Updating a previous report, Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton has agreed to a five-year, $103 million deal, according to a source. He will make $67.6 million in the first three years of the deal.

Footballguys view: That number over the first three years is the greatest in NFL history. The Panthers obviously are putting their money and their full confidence behind Newton. He hasn't been the most consistent quarterback out there, but Newton can continue to flourish on a team that hopes to make a deep postseason run in 2015.

Panthers | Cam Newton nearing new deal    Mon Jun 1, 09:55 AM

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton is close to a contract extension that will run through the 2020 season, according to sources. The deal could be done in the next day or two.

Footballguys view: Newton should get an extension with more guaranteed money than the $95 million deal Ryan Tannehill just signed with the Dolphins. After taking him with the first-overall pick in 2011, Newton has led the Panthers to the NFC South division title twice in the last four years. They're not going to let him get away.

Panthers | Extra snaps for Devin Funchess    Sun May 31, 07:29 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess has been seeing extra snaps while WR Kelvin Benjamin (hamstring) is sidelined, and head coach Ron Rivera said the extra work for Funchess has been an unintended plus.

Footballguys view: Funchess is a big target like Benjamin, and the Panthers are hopeful the rookie can develop into a quality starter. He's got the ability to be a factor in the red zone, but Funchess needs to catch passes with more consistency. Funchess too often lets passes into his body and fights passes that should be easy to snare.

Panthers | Corey Brown gained muscle, speed    Thu May 28, 09:36 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Corey Brown said Thursday, May 28, he's gained 10 pounds and is faster.

Footballguys view: Fantasy owners will know him better as Philly Brown. As a rookie last year, Brown had 21 catches for 296 yards and two touchdowns. He also chipped on special teams with a return touchdown as well. He'll be in the mix of reserve receivers on the Panthers roster.

Panthers | Kelvin Benjamin still out    Thu May 28, 03:27 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (hamstring) sat out organized team activities Thursday, May 28, as he continues to nurse a sore hamstring.

Footballguys view: After a tremendous (and somewhat surprising) rookie season, Benjamin is a key piece for the Carolina Panthers and they need more of the same. He finished as a solid WR2 last season so we're looking for more of the same in 2015. If he can get - and stay - healthy, he can definitely do well. We're not worried about rookie Devin Funchess taking away targets, and we love that Cam Newton is healthy.

Panthers | Cam Newton showing confidence    Mon May 25, 04:11 PM

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton said no one has the size, the speed, the arm strength or the intangibles that he has. 'I'm not saying that to say I'm a one-on-one type of person that this league will never see another... I'm just saying that so much of my talents have not been seen in one person.'

Footballguys view: We love the confidence, but the Panthers (and fantasy owners) need Newton to play at a higher level in 2015. His 58.5 percent completion rate ranked 29th in the NFL last season. Newton has no fear when sending passes long, and the Panthers have added better weapons around him to help that. His 9.7 air yards per passing attempt was 4th-best in the NFL last year, and Newton put up those numbers under a lot of pressure. Only Joe Flacco (37.3) had a higher blitz-per-dropback percentage than Newton (35.8). We'll see if the Panthers can better protect Newton and if he can become a more accurate passer in 2015.

Panthers | Kelvin Benjamin nursing injury    Thu May 21, 04:55 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (hamstring) is nursing a strained hamstring he suffered last week, according to a source. Benjamin is not likely to participate in organized team activities next week.

Footballguys view: Benjamin had an exceptionally good rookie season, enough to drive his early ADP up into the third round. If rookie Devin Funchess can duplicate Benjamin's first season just a little, Benjamin will have an easier time with opposing secondaries. We know Cam Newton likes him, and that goes a long way towards building opportunity and production. We like him as a lot as a WR2 for your fantasy team.

Panthers | Devin Funchess to be No. 2 WR?    Wed May 20, 05:55 PM

Carolina Panthers rookie WR Devin Funchess could be the No. 2 wide receiver ahead of Jerricho Cotchery this season, according to Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com.

Footballguys view: Funchess isn't going to be handed the job, but he'll have to prove himself in training camp. He's a large target with the ability to play above the rim. Funchess is quite raw as a route-runner, and he's not going to get a lot of separation against NFL corners unless he improves that part of his game. He also needs to improve his concentration in order to play up to his potential as a pro. Fantasy owners can do a lot better than Funchess as the Panthers offense will still be run-heavy and Funchess is far from a sure thing as a rookie.

Panthers | Cameron Artis-Payne to be No. 2?    Tue May 19, 10:30 AM

Carolina Panthers RB Cameron Artis-Payne is expected to win the No. 2 running back job behind starting RB Jonathan Stewart. Artis-Payne, a 2015 fifth-round draft choice, should play a significant role in the offense, in the opinion of ESPN.com's David Newton. Rookie RB Brandon Wegher and RB Fozzy Whittaker are likely to compete for the No. 3 job.

Footballguys view: Artis-Payne shows good patience as a runner, and he has the foot frequency to get to top speed in a hurry and avoid trash near the line of scrimmage. He's an efficient runner who wastes little motion when carrying the rock. Artis-Payne is not going to break any ankles, and he doesn't break as many tackles as his size would indicate.

Panthers | No. 2 WR job Devin Funchess' to lose?    Tue May 19, 09:27 AM

Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess eventually will be the Panthers' No. 2 receiver opposite WR Kelvin Benjamin, but it is unclear if the rookie will begin the 2015 season in this role, according to ESPN.com's David Newton.

Footballguys view: Funchess can easily create mismatches on the field because of his size (6'4" 232 pounds), but he has a lot to develop before he's a reliable starter. He dropped 20 passes over the last three years and needs to improve his focus and concentration. Funchess looks huge, but he doesn't win enough contested catches and needs to better his "my ball" mentality. The rookie will battle with WRs Jerricho Cotchery, Ted Ginn Jr., Philly Brown and Stephen Hill this summer.

Panthers | Jerricho Cotchery expected to stick    Tue May 19, 09:22 AM

Carolina Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery is expected to remain with the Panthers as their No. 3 or No. 4 wide receiver in 2015, according to ESPN.com's David Newton.

Footballguys view: Cotchery's best seasons are far behind him, and he's unlikely to replicate the 10 touchdown season he had in 2013 for the Steelers. However, he does give the team quality veteran depth and a guide for the younger receivers on the roster.

Panthers | Devin Funchess being moved around    Fri May 15, 12:36 AM

Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess has played all three receiver positions during minicamp.

Footballguys view: Funchess was considered a WR/TE tweener, although a pure receiving TE a la Ladarius Green. He could get snaps all over the offensive formation, and he'll do most of his damage on short and intermediate stuff. He's more of a danger to Greg Olsen's fantasy value than Kelvin Benjamin's.

Panthers | D.J. Swearinger on radar    Mon May 11, 10:29 PM

The Carolina Panthers are interested in SS D.J. Swearinger, waived by the Houston Texans Monday, May 11. Many teams would have to pass on him for the Panthers to get a claim off waivers.

Footballguys view: We're not sure Swearinger is going to get picked up via waivers. He's struggled covering and in run support. The Panthers are looking for secondary help, but Swearinger isn't the best answer.

Panthers | Devin Funchess signs contract    Mon May 11, 07:24 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess signed a contract with the team Monday, May 11. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Funchess is a large wide receiver, but he has a lot of work to do in order to be an effective pro. He needs to learn how to better use his frame to box out smaller defenders and win at the point of the catch. Funchess needs to learn how to become a better route-runner and play with more explosion out of his breaks.

Panthers | Shaq Thompson leaves practice    Fri May 8, 06:42 PM

Carolina Panthers LB Shaq Thompson (hamstring) left practice early Friday, May 8, because of a hamstring injury.

Footballguys view: No word on the severity yet. Thompson is one of our favorite rookies from this draft class. He can be used in a role similar to what the Seahawks use Kam Chancellor. Thompson may not be as violent as Chancellor at the point of attack, but he's got the athleticism and speed to be moved all over the field.

Panthers | Devin Funchess dealing with cramps    Fri May 8, 05:26 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess was carted off the field during practice Friday, May 8, but is just dealing with leg cramps, according to the team.

Footballguys view: Funchess is an interesting pick for the Panthers. He's a big target--like last year's first-round pick Kelvin Benjamin--but Funchess drops too many passes and is not an explosive route-runner. Funchess is built more like a move tight end, so it will be interesting to see how Carolina tries to fit him into the offense.

Panthers | Shaq Thompson signs with Carolina    Thu May 7, 10:07 PM

Carolina Panthers LB Shaq Thompson signed his rookie contract Thursday, May 7. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: We love this pick. Thompson is listed as a linebacker, but he really plays more like safety Kam Chancellor (Seahawks). He can roam the field looking to make an impact play. Thompson arrives at the ball-carrier swiftly, and he's got the athleticism to cover in space. It will be interesting to see how Thompson fits on the Panthers defense.

Panthers | Devin Funchess to be used at WR    Fri May 1, 08:07 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess will be used exclusively at wide receiver, according to general manager Dave Gettleman.

Footballguys view: Well, he's a decent receiver, but there were other receivers on the board who are probably better fits (Jaelem Strong anyone?). Cam Newton should be a little happier but has to wonder where his protection is.

Panthers | Devin Funchess selected by Carolina    Fri May 1, 07:59 PM

Michigan TE Devin Funchess was selected 41st overall by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft Friday, May 1.

Footballguys view: This is a bit of a head-scratcher. The Panthers still have no help on the offensive line, and Funchness is a decent but not fantastic tight end. He won't have an impact immediately for fantasy, but is probably worth a second or third round rookie pick.

Panthers | Shaq Thompson selected 25th overall    Thu Apr 30, 10:49 PM

Washington LB Shaq Thompson was selected 25th overall by the Carolina Panthers in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.

Footballguys view: We love this pick..and this fit. Thompson is Kam Chancellor-like because he's a linebacker who can play free safety. The Panthers selected a similar player when they added linebacker Thomas Davis out of Georgia years ago. Davis has become a star with the Panthers, and we could see Thompson following a similar path.

Panthers | Express interest in Shaq Thompson    Sun Apr 26, 09:55 AM

Washington LB Shaq Thompson said he met with the Carolina Panthers this offseason, and the team also conducted an on-campus workout with him.

Footballguys view: Every team should be interested in Thompson. He's a player built like Kam Chancellor (Seahawks) and he can line up at linebacker or strong safety as a pro. Some think he could even still play running back. Thompson should be a first-round pick, and he's a dangerous weapon when used the right way.

Panthers | Benardrick McKinney works out    Fri Apr 24, 02:53 AM

Mississippi State LB Benardrick McKinney worked out for the Carolina Panthers on Thursday, April 23.

Footballguys view: McKinney is one of the best inside linebackers in this class. Look for him to come off the board in the late first or early second round. McKinney loves contact, and he can strike fear into opponents. He has good straight-line speed, but McKinney could struggle in coverage at the pro level.

Panthers | Two OL work out    Tue Apr 21, 07:47 AM

Utah OL Junior Salt and Utah OL Jeremiah Poutasi worked out for the Carolina Panthers on Monday, April 20.

Footballguys view: Poutasi should be a late-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft, while Salt is expected to go undrafted. At Utah, Poutasi played in a two-point stance and might be moved inside to guard at the pro level because of his athletic limitations. Salt sat out a year and went on a two-year mission, so his age (27) may be a factor for interested teams. He's a powerful player who does little at the second level of the defense.

Panthers | Landon Collins visits    Fri Apr 17, 07:26 PM

Alabama SS Landon Collins met with the Carolina Panthers Friday, April 17, according to a source.

Footballguys view: Collins is an intimidating player who can line up in the box and attack as a run-defender. He struggles in coverage, and is best playing facing the line of scrimmage. Round one is where we should see him go off the board.

Panthers | Ronald Darby visits    Thu Apr 16, 02:49 AM

Florida State CB Ronald Darby visited the Carolina Panthers recently.

Footballguys view: Darby has the upside to be a starter in the pros. He's got the speed to make up ground in the blink of an eye. This helps him if he takes false steps on a break or play-action fake. Darby is not a hitter, but he has shown the willingness to play press or off coverage. Look for him to come off the board in the second round of the draft.

Louisiana State CB Jalen Collins is scheduled to meet with the Carolina Panthers before the 2015 NFL Draft.

Panthers | Charles Tillman signed    Thu Apr 9, 04:01 PM

Free-agent CB Charles Tillman (Bears) signed a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers Thursday, April 9. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: The Panthers need some help in the secondary, but Tillman is well past his prime at this point. He's coming off a triceps injury which cost him the whole of the 2014 NFL season. Tillman's had health issues for years so we are guessing his impact will be relatively minimal.
