Updating a previous report, Carolina Panthers DT Star Lotulelei (foot) underwent surgery for a small fracture in his foot Wednesday, Jan. 7.

Footballguys view: The last three Panthers/Seahawks game have been 13-9, 12-7 and 16-12. As you can see, all three games were defensive battles where neither team did much offensively. Yes, Newton is winless against the Seahawks but know that each game has been hard fought and low scoring.

Panthers | DeAngelo Williams probable    Fri Jan 2, 03:53 PM

Carolina Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams (hand) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 2, and is probable for the team's wild-card playoff.

Footballguys view: Williams will be back in action, but he's still going to be behind Jonathan Stewart in the pecking order. Those playing daily fantasy should recognize there will be a split amongst RB touches in Carolina when considering Stewart.

Panthers | Friday practice report for wild-card playoff    Fri Jan 2, 02:51 PM

Carolina Panthers LB A.J. Klein (ankle) fully practiced Friday, Jan. 2, and is questionable for the team's wild-card playoff. QB Derek Anderson (illness) and OG Fernando Velasco (non-injury) both fully practiced and are probable. S Thomas DeCoud (hamstring) did not practice and is doubtful.

Panthers | Jonathan Stewart to remain lead back    Fri Jan 2, 02:08 PM

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart is expected to start and see most of the carries over RB DeAngelo Williams in the team's Wild Card game against the Arizona Cardinals Saturday, Jan. 3. Stewart has the second most rushing yards (486) in the league in the last five games, and Williams was a liability in the passing game with an injured right hand. However, Williams is 'ready to roll' this week, according to head coach Ron Rivera.

Footballguys view: Stewart has upside for fantasy owners playing daily games during the playoffs. However, Williams may cut enough into his touches to hold his production down compared to what it's been over the last five weeks.

Panthers | DeAngelo Williams fully practices    Thu Jan 1, 06:28 PM

Carolina Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams (hand) practiced fully Thursday, Jan. 1.

Footballguys view: Williams hasn't been much help to this offense during the year, on the rare occasions when he wasn't hurt. If we were going to bet on a running back here, it'd be Jonathan Stewart who we see as gaining between 60 and 70 total yards. Williams should serve as a backup behind Stewart against the Cardinals on Saturday.
