Eagles | Alex Collins a fit in Philly?    Sat Feb 16, 11:27 PM

Baltimore Ravens restricted free-agent Alex Collins could be a trade target for the Philadelphia Eagles, in the opinion of Bill Barnwell of ESPN.com.

Footballguys view: Why trade for him when the Ravens could just let him go? Collins had a breakout season in 2017 but struggled to stay healthy and impress in 2018. There is buzz that the Ravens won't tender him, thus letting Collins hit the open market. If the Eagles were to give up something in a trade it wouldn't be more than a late-round pick.

Eagles | Dallas Goedert to be used more?    Sat Feb 16, 10:45 PM

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert caught 12 of his 33 passes as a rookie over the final four games, and Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com believes Goedert's usage should increase in 2019 after the coaching staff has an entire offseason to figure out more ways to give him the ball.

Footballguys view: We were hoping they'd use Goedert more last year during his rookie season. The 2018 second-round pick ended up with 33 catches for 334 yards and four receiving touchdowns. We'll see if they can concoct a way to get him more involved in the offense alongside their top tight end Zach Ertz.

Eagles | Nick Foles unlikely for Philly backup spot    Thu Feb 14, 07:52 PM

Free-agent QB Nick Foles (Eagles) is not expected to return to the Philadelphia Eagles as the backup to Carson Wentz.

Footballguys view: Zero surprise here. Foles wants to be a starter and that isn't going to happen in Philly with Wentz pegged as their franchise quarterback.

Eagles | Decision due on Nelson Agholor     Tue Feb 12, 12:56 PM

Eagles | Philly likely to bolster D-Line?    Sat Feb 9, 11:21 PM

Eagles | Philly could be interested in DeVante Parker    Sat Feb 9, 01:32 AM

The Philadelphia Eagles might be interested in Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker if he is released, in the opinion of Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski, who notes that the team reportedly discussed acquiring Parker from Miami at last year's trade deadline.

Footballguys view: Instead of getting Parker, the Eagles landed Golden Tate...and he didn't do too much with his new team. Tate is likely gone in free agency, leaving the Eagles looking for more help at the position.

Eagles | Derek Barnett eyeing OTAs    Thu Feb 7, 10:10 PM

Philadelphia Eagles DE Derek Barnett (shoulder) is expected to be ready for the start of OTAs.

Footballguys view: Barnett was only able to make it through six games in 2018. The 2017 first-round pick had shoulder surgery for a torn rotator cuff. He should be eased back into action in OTAs.

Eagles | Nick Foles now a free agent    Tue Feb 5, 09:46 PM

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles declined his $20 million option by exercising a $2 million buyout and will become a free agent.

Footballguys view: Foles is a free agent...for now. We'll see if the Eagles actually slap the franchise tag on Foles so they can try to trade him and control his landing spot. Foles will be starting somewhere else in 2019 (most likely).

Eagles | Nick Foles' option likely to be exercised    Sat Feb 2, 03:32 PM

Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles' $20 million option for 2019 is expected to be picked up by the Eagles this offseason, according to sources.

Footballguys view: Foles can still buy his way into free agency for two million, but then the Eagles can tag him, while knowing that they can't fit his nearly 25 million dollar salary on the tag under the cap. The chess game with Eagles and the rest of the league is just getting started.

Eagles | Latavius Murray a fit in Philly?    Fri Feb 1, 02:01 AM

Minnesota Vikings RB Latavius Murray could be a free-agent target of the Philadelphia Eagles, in the opinion of NJ.com's Zack Rosenblatt, who believes Murray's abilities as a receiver and reasonable price tag could make him part of a timeshare with holdover RB Josh Adams.

Footballguys view: Murray can work in a downhill running game, but he's a committee back through and through. The Eagles could also aim higher at the position in the draft or free agency. Murray wants to start again, but is unlikely to get a huge payday or workload in free agency.

Eagles | Rodney McLeod staying in Philly     Thu Jan 31, 09:25 PM

Philadelphia Eagles FS Rodney McLeod has agreed to a restructured deal to remain with the Eagles in 2019.

Footballguys view: The Eagles are in a bad cap situation at the moment and needed this move to help for the 2019 outlook. Nick Foles eventual trade or release should get them under the cap, but they are projected to be over right now.

Eagles | QB Nick Foles an unenviable scenario    Thu Jan 31, 12:47 PM

Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles is likely to part ways with the team this offseason, and some current teammates are concerned about some of his potential landing spots. 'I would hate to see him with the Giants just because I hate playing my friends, and if I end up back in Philly I'd have to play him twice a year,' Eagles DE Chris Long told NJ Advance Media. 'But I think whoever gets him is going to be very lucky. He's a leader. He's a franchise-type quarterback. The tough thing is we have another franchise quarterback, a guy who is homegrown and is going to be a great player for a long time to come.'

Footballguys view: It's clear Foles has greatly endeared himself to his teammates, which is a big selling point along with his postseason success. Jacksonville seems like one of the best destinations for him among the quarterback needy teams.

Eagles | Paul Worrilow staying in Philly    Tue Jan 29, 08:19 PM

Impending free-agent LB Paul Worrilow agreed to terms on a one-year undisclosed contract to return to the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday, Jan. 29, according to a source.

Footballguys view: Worrilow torn an ACL in his first practice with the Eagles last year, but the Eagles aren't done with him. If Jordan Hicks leaves in free agency, Worrilow could compete for a starting job.

Eagles | Matt Burke to join Eagles    Tue Jan 29, 03:32 PM

Former Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Matt Burke is expected to join the Philadelphia Eagles as an aide to defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz.

Footballguys view: Burke was previously under Schwartz in Tennessee and Detroit, so he'll be asset to a defensive staff that will looking to bounce back from an up and down year.

Eagles | Nick Foles heading elsewhere?    Mon Jan 28, 04:33 PM

Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles is expected to be released this offseason as there is not enough salary cap space for a franchise tag or a trade. Foles carries a cap hit of over $20 million. If Foles is released, the Eagles would be compensated with a third-round draft pick in 2020.

Footballguys view: Foles might not generate enough trade interest to justify more than a third round pick in exchange anyway. The Eagles have seemed to want to do right by Foles and allowing him to pick his new team via release would be the best move to achieve that goal.

Eagles | Josh Adams not in Philly's plans?    Sun Jan 27, 10:07 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Josh Adams lack of involvement during the postseason is a sign that he has 'fallen out of favor' with the coaching staff, according to Andrew Kulp of CSNPhilly.com, and Kulp expects the Eagles to part ways with Adams this offseason.

Footballguys view: Adams had some moments in his short stint atop the depth chart and looked like no mere UDFA. He should catch on another roster if he let go, but his fantasy upside is limited by his lack of involvement in the passing game.

Eagles | Jay Ajayi finished in Philly?    Sun Jan 27, 09:58 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jay Ajayi's (knee) history of knee injuries will likely cause the Eagles to part ways with him this offseason and target a running back in the 2019 NFL Draft, in the opinion of Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Footballguys view: Ajayi was still running well at the beginning of the season but there will likely be skepticism about his ability in free agency in a league that is depressing the value more of running backs with each passing year. He'll likely have to fight his way up a depth chart to have fantasy value next season.

Eagles | Zach Ertz battled injuries down stretch    Sun Jan 27, 09:21 PM

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (undisclosed) said he was less than 100 percent down the stretch of the season, but he didn't reveal the exact nature of his injuries.

Footballguys view: Ertz production did tail off at times with Nick Foles, but this could be a better explanation than a lack of chemistry. Still, many players are getting worn down by the end of the year, and it will be difficult to expect more from Ertz next year.

Eagles | Corey Clement to miss time in 2019?    Sat Jan 26, 11:26 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Corey Clement (knee) still hasn't revealed the exact nature of his knee injury, but Andrew Kulp of CSNPhilly.com believes the injury could force him to miss the start of the 2019 season.

Footballguys view: The Eagles are of the most likely teams to make a splash at running back even though UDFA Josh Adams had an auspicious start to his career. Darren Sproles might retire, Jay Ajayi is a free agent, and Wendell Smallwood is still just a committee back. Whatever plans they had for Clement are up in the air with this injury hanging over him.

Eagles | Breshad Perriman a possible fit    Thu Jan 24, 02:02 AM

Cleveland Browns WR Breshad Perriman could be a free agency target for the Philadelphia Eagles, in the opinion of Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski, who believes Perriman's speed could be a missing component in the Eagles' passing game.

Footballguys view: A first-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft, Perriman was a bust for the Ravens. He moved on to the Browns in 2018 and made some plays here and there -- finishing with 16 catches for 340 yards and two touchdowns. The Eagles could use some deep speed on offense, but we think it's DeSean Jackson who could best fill that role in 2019. Jackson is still under contract with the Buccaneers but is expected to be released this offseason.

Eagles | Philly a fit for Kareem Hunt?    Thu Jan 24, 01:43 AM

The Philadelphia Eagles could be a landing spot for former Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt, in the opinion of Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski, who believes the team may be willing to move past Hunt's off-the-field incident based on their previous interest in Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon when he was coming out of Oklahoma -- Mixon was also recorded striking a woman.

Footballguys view: Hunt is facing a lengthy suspension, and there is a belief that he will be informed about his discipline from the league before the start of free agency. The Eagles could use a back like Hunt, but they are far from the only team interested.

Eagles | Nick Foles could be tagged?    Wed Jan 23, 01:36 AM

Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles would be eligible to be franchise or transition tagged and then traded if the team decides not to pick up his option, which ESPN's Chris Mortensen believes is a possibility as doing so would allow the Eagles to influence Foles' destination.

Footballguys view: If the Eagles don't pick up his option, then Foles can buy out of it...and thus he would be eligible to be tagged....and then traded. Eagles GM Howie Roseman loves to trade and he could get a premium pick for Foles. We think this is the most likely outcome.

Eagles | Philly could shop Nelson Agholor    Mon Jan 21, 02:10 AM

Philadelphia Eagles WR Nelson Agholor could be made available in a trade, according to Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski, who cites Agholor's high salary ($9.387 million) and the team's limited cap space as reasons the Eagles would consider trading Agholor.

Footballguys view: A first-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft, Agholor took a couple of seasons to get going as a pro but over the last two years he's caught over 60 passes each year. If he stays with the Eagles and has a similar role, Agholor produces at a WR4 level for Fantasy GMs.

Eagles | Golden Tate could be re-signed    Mon Jan 21, 02:00 AM

Philadelphia Eagles WR Golden Tate could be brought back if the team moves on from WR Nelson Agholor, in the opinion of Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski, though he believes Tate signing elsewhere to be the more likely outcome.

Footballguys view: Tate is set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2019, and he should more than a few teams interested. In a season split between two teams (Lions/Eagles), Tate failed to reach 1,000 receiving yards for the first time since 2015. He's still capable of making plays because of his run-after-the-catch ability. Some are speculating he could find his way back to Detroit.

Eagles | Carson Wentz should be ready for workouts    Sun Jan 20, 02:00 PM

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) is expected to be healthy enough to be a full participant when offseason workouts start in April, according to sources.

Footballguys view: With Nick Foles likely to be tagged and traded, Wentz is the clear cut guy for the Eagles...and for good reason. He just needs to stay healthy in order to produce at the expected level. Wentz hasn't played a full 16-game season since his rookie year in 2016.

Eagles | Dates looming on Nick Foles decision    Fri Jan 18, 01:05 PM

Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles might have played his last game with the Eagles, and the first key date in that process arrives Feb. 10 -- one month before the start of the new league year -- when the Eagles must decide if they're going to pick up Foles' $20 million contract option for 2019. If so, Foles has five days to decide if he wants to void the option.

Footballguys view: There's going to be a market for Foles once teams figure out what he could possibly had for. The speculation remains that the Eagles will tag and trade Foles. We'll see if that can happen or if Foles opts out. Stay tuned....and look for a team like Jacksonville to make a move for the veteran passer.

Eagles | Brandon Graham to test market    Wed Jan 16, 09:43 PM

Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent DE Brandon Graham said he plans to test the free-agent market this offseason because he wants to do what is best for his family.

Footballguys view: The Eagles have been trying for some time to get Graham signed but to no avail. "I'm a little disappointed that we tried the last couple years and couldn't get a deal done," Graham told PFT in a phone interview. The veteran should have quite a few teams interested in his services.

Eagles | Nick Foles a Philly favorite    Tue Jan 15, 01:14 PM

Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles is a player the team would like to have return even though Foles can buy out of the final year of his contract if the Eagles pick up his 2019 option. 'We would love to keep Nick Foles,' Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the team's year-end news conference. 'You talk about a guy we've drafted here and grown incredibly close with. Certainly, as we go into the substance of those discussions, no question ... we'd love to keep him.'

Footballguys view: It's going to be an interesting offseason for the Eagles due to this Foles situation. Some out there believe they'll be able to tag and trade Foles in an effort to get something for him and not lose him with nothing in return. We'll see what happens with Foles but one thing is clear; the team wants Carson Wentz as their starting quarterback.

Eagles | Philly GM defends Golden Tate trade    Tue Jan 15, 12:24 PM

Philadelphia Eagles WR Golden Tate's trade-deadline acquisition from the Detroit Lions 'no question' worked out the way the Eagles hoped it would, general manager Howie Roseman said Tuesday, Jan. 15.

Footballguys view: Tate did make some plays with the Eagles here and there but he just didn't seem to fit in as good as he could have. Now he enters free agency in 2019 and it's unlikely the Eagles bring him back. They took a chance and it didn't work out...even though Roseman spun it differently on Tuesday.

Eagles | Philly going forward with Carson Wentz    Tue Jan 15, 12:06 PM

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (back) is the team's 'starting quarterback going forward ,' head coach Doug Pederson said Tuesday, Jan. 16, at the team's season-ending news conference.

Footballguys view: After Nick Foles led them to the playoffs in 2018, many wondered what the future held for Wentz. It looks like the Eagles are going with Wentz. He hasn't played a full 16-game season since 2016 but when healthy he has the skill to be one of the best in the league at his position. We'll see if the Eagles can trade Foles this offseason.

Eagles | Philly signs 10 to futures deals    Mon Jan 14, 08:07 PM

Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Braxton Miller was a third-round pick of the Texans in the 2016 NFL draft but he failed to develop as a receiver. He's incredibly athletic and can be a weapon on offense. We'll stubbornly monitor him but only in super deep dynasty formats. Pumphrey and Tye are worth keeping an eye on in those leagues as well.
