Eagles | Ryan Mathews will join rotation upon return    Mon Sep 26, 12:40 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews (ankle) will remain the starter, but head coach Doug Pederson said the team will continue to rotate backs even when Mathews is healthy.

Footballguys view: The Eagles should continue to use Darren Sproles as a receiving weapon, even if/when Mathews is at full strength. If Mathews misses time with this ankle injury (that he's been playing with), then perhaps Kenjon Barner or Wendell Smallwood would be asked to do more like they did in Week 3.

Eagles | Ryan Mathews absent down stretch    Mon Sep 26, 01:13 AM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews (ankle) carried just twice for minus-5 yards in Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Head coach Doug Pederson did not have information on Mathews' status after the game, but said he would have an update Monday, Sept. 26.

Footballguys view: Mathews has been bothered by this ankle injury, but he has not missed time despite having an ankle heavily taped. Get on your waiver wire to see if you can add Kenjon Barner or Wendell Smallwood.

Eagles | Bigger role ahead for DGB?    Sat Sep 24, 02:34 PM

Philadelphia Eagles WR Dorial Green-Beckham is a candidate to see his role expanded, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

Footballguys view: Dynasty owners should be watching the big target. Green-Beckham has always had the physical potential to be a top-15 WR in the game. He's far from producing at that level, but his natural talent should have all fantasy owners intrigued.

Eagles | Zach Ertz to return in Week 5    Sat Sep 24, 10:52 AM

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (rib) will return to action Oct. 9, during Week 5's game against the Detroit Lions, according to head coach Doug Pederson. He has already been ruled out for Week 3's game versus the Pittsburgh Steelers and the club has a bye in Week 4.

Footballguys view: Ertz will get plenty of time to recover from this injury. In the meantime, Trey Burton continues to be a sneaky TE play for DFS players.

Eagles | Zach Ertz out Wednesday    Wed Sep 21, 12:44 PM

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (rib) is out of practice Wednesday, Sept. 21.

Footballguys view: Trey Burton is the player to watch here. If Ertz is out again, Burton could be in line as the primary target at TE. Veteran Brent Celek will continue as the team's big-bodied blocker, but it's Burton who looked good (and was targeted 7 times) against the Bears in Week 2.

Eagles | Zach Ertz's Week 3 status up in the air    Tue Sep 20, 01:31 PM

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (rib) will likely be a game-time decision in Week 3 against Pittsburgh Steelers, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

Footballguys view: Ertz could be out for at least another game this week against the Steelers, so Trey Burton isn't a bad choice in what should be a high-scoring game. The Eagles bye is in Week 4, so Ertz should be back soon. That's a reason to not go too aggressive for Burton on the wire.

Footballguys view: That's not a high mark, but Agholor is just trying to bounce back after a disappointing rookie season. His dynasty stock has improved with his play early this season.

Eagles | Zach Ertz ruled out for Week 2    Sat Sep 17, 11:17 AM

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (rib) has been ruled out for Week 2's game against the Chicago Bears, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

Eagles | Zach Ertz does not practice    Fri Sep 16, 08:02 PM

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (rib) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 16.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews shining on Monday nights    Fri Sep 16, 02:40 PM

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews has recorded 23 receptions for 299 yards (99.7 ypg) combined over his last three games on Monday Night Football. He's also scored a pair of receiving touchdowns over that span.

Footballguys view: Carson Wentz has breathed life back into the fantasy value of Matthews and the rest of the Eagles offense. Consider Matthews a borderline WR1 against a porous Bears secondary.

Eagles | Zach Ertz not ruled out for Week 2    Thu Sep 15, 10:57 AM

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (rib) has not been ruled out to play Monday, Sept. 19, in Week 2.

Footballguys view: We aren't counting on him, and neither should you. Even if he plays, those ribs could prohibit him from producing quality numbers.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews connects with Carson Wentz    Wed Sep 14, 09:00 AM

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews has a rapport with QB Carson Wentz, and the two connected seven times for 114 yards and a touchdown in Week 1. One 28-yard gain occurred after Wentz changed the pass protection at the line of scrimmage and Matthews adjusted his route accordingly.

Footballguys view: That's a great sign for both players. Wentz is going to get tested by NFL defenses, especially after they get some film on him and learn his tendencies. Having strong chemistry with his best WR will help him work through the struggles we all know will arise. Wentz could have another strong game in Week 2 as they face a bad Bears defense, but from a fantasy lens we only consider him a low-end QB2.

Free-agent QB Aaron Murray (Cardinals) signed with the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad Tuesday, Sept. 13. WR Marcus Johnson was subsequently released.

LBs Nigel Bradham and Jordan Hicks played 51 snaps - 98 percent total. The Eagles used their nickel package for most of the game, and Hicks and Bradham are both ahead of Kendricks in that package.
