Eagles | Jason Peters believed to have torn biceps    Fri Oct 12, 10:45 AM

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles OT Jason Peters (biceps) is believed to have a torn biceps, but doctors are optimistic he can play through it. He'll have an MRI Friday, Oct. 12.

Footballguys view: Peters hasn't been that effective, and this injury won't help, but at least the expectation is that the team won't have to go to his backup. We'll be watching this situation through next week's practices.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery had eight receptions for 74 yards and a pair of touchdowns on Thursday, Oct. 11, against the New York Giants.

Footballguys view: Jeffery looked like alpha dog in the pass offense and Carson Wentz trusted him in tight coverage. He should have another strong day next week against the Panthers corners.

Eagles | Nelson Agholor leads team in receiving    Fri Oct 12, 12:46 AM

Philadelphia Eagles WR Nelson Agholor caught three passes (on five targets) for a team-high 91 yards against the New York Giants in Week 6.

Footballguys view: Agholor is still a peripheral part of this pass offense, but he snuck behind the defense twice for big gains, so his ceiling is getting higher despite the drop in opportunity.

Eagles | Corey Clement scores TD    Fri Oct 12, 12:39 AM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Corey Clement accounted for 43 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries in the team's Week 6 win over the New York Giants. Clement added 26 yards as a receiver.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Wendell Smallwood carried the ball 18 times for 51 yards against the New York Giants in Week 6.

Philadelphia Eagles OT Jason Peters (biceps) suffered a biceps injury against the New York Giants in Week 6 and has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Eagles | More on Lane Johnson    Thu Oct 11, 08:32 AM

Updating an earlier report, Philadelphia Eagles OT Lane Johnson (ankle) has been dealing with a high-ankle injury that flared up this week. He will push to play against the New York Giants Thursday, Oct. 11, but it will be difficult to suit up.

Footballguys view: Johnson is one of the best right tackles in the league and he would be missed. The Giants run defense is good as it is, so this could make things tougher on Corey Clement and Wendell Smallwood.

Eagles | Carson Wentz fully practices    Wed Oct 10, 02:07 PM

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (rest) returned to a full practice Wednesday, Oct. 10.

Footballguys view: Wentz is good to go for Thursday night against the Giants. He's a QB1 for Fantasy GMs but the Giants do have the 8th best defense in passing yards allowed per game (229.4) and that makes Wentz more of a low-end QB1 this week.

Eagles | Corey Clement good to go    Wed Oct 10, 10:28 AM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Corey Clement (quadriceps) is 100 percent ready to go for Week 6 Thursday, Oct. 11, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

Footballguys view: Clement has been down for a couple of weeks due to this injury. He returns to the lineup without Jay Ajayi who the team shut down for the year with a knee injury. Clement will compete with Wendell Smallwood for touches in the Eagles backfield on Thursday night against the Giants.

Eagles | Philly could pursue C.J. Prosise    Wed Oct 10, 02:37 AM

The Philadelphia Eagles could be interested in acquiring Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise, according to John Clayton.

Footballguys view: Prosise has done next to nothing during his time with the Seahawks. He's an explosive back who can make plays in space when healthy. It's that whole 'when healthy' part that has been difficult for Prosise in the pros.

Eagles | Jordan Howard a potential target?    Wed Oct 10, 02:30 AM

The Philadelphia Eagles could make a move to acquire Chicago Bears RB Jordan Howard, according to John Clayton, who characterized Howard as a sleeper candidate for the Eagles.

Footballguys view: The Eagles are looking for running back help with Jay Ajayi (knee) out for the year. Reports speculate they are considering a reunion with LeSean McCoy but perhaps Clayton is on to something here. Howard is a bit of an odd fit in Matt Nagy's system and would be an upgrade over Corey Clement or Wendell Smallwood.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (rest) was held out of practice Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Eagles | Darren Sproles remains sidelined    Tue Oct 9, 12:44 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles (hamstring) remained out of practice Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Footballguys view: The Eagles have a short week as they play on Thursday night against the Giants. They may not have Sproles back in action by that time. At least it looks like Corey Clement is returning from injury this week.

Eagles | Corey Clement practicing Tuesday    Tue Oct 9, 12:35 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Corey Clement (quadriceps) was participating in the team's practice Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Eagles | Philly interested in LeSean McCoy    Tue Oct 9, 12:20 PM

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy interests the Philadelphia Eagles, who have reached out to Buffalo to feel out a possible trade, a source said Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Footballguys view: McCoy is under contract through the 2019 season and going back to Philly would be a boost for his fantasy value. The Eagles lost Jay Ajayi for the year with a knee injury and McCoy would provide an upgrade over guys like Corey Clement and Wendell Smallwood.

Eagles | Le'Veon Bell not trade option for Philly    Mon Oct 8, 07:43 PM

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell has not been a trade target for the Philadelphia Eagles and likely will not be one even after the team created salary cap space, according to sources.

Footballguys view: There were some rumblings about Bell being of interest to the Eagles but apparently that's not the case. Even with Jay Ajayi done the season, the Eagles seem unlikely to pursue a trade for Bell.

Eagles | Jay Ajayi's left knee the issue    Mon Oct 8, 06:32 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jay Ajayi (knee) tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, according to sources. He suffered a torn right ACL in college.

Footballguys view: Ajayi (knee) will undergo surgery on his torn anterior cruciate ligament Thursday, Oct. 11, according to reports. The Eagles move forward with Wendell Smallwood as their lead back for now. When Corey Clement and Darren Sproles get healthy, the team will have more reinforcements (and a potential starter in Clement) at the position.

Eagles | Jay Ajayi out for the year     Mon Oct 8, 05:18 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jay Ajayi (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Oct. 8, after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Free-agent DT T.Y. McGill (Chargers) was claimed in a corresponding move.

Footballguys view: The Eagles are banged up at the running back position already and this injury doesn't help. Without Ajayi, the team has to turn to Wendell Smallwood to lead the way for the time being. Corey Clement is banged up with a quad injury or else he would be in line for a larger role. The Eagles may have to depend on Smallwood in Week 6 as they play against the Giants on Thursday night.
