Eagles | Zach Ertz an extension candidate    Sun Jan 19, 03:14 PM

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz will be a candidate for a contract extension this offseason.

Footballguys view: Ertz is under contract with the Eagles through the 2021 season. He has a cap hit of $12.4 million in 2020 and there's $13.5 million remaining in dead money. The Eagles might want to adjust that number and re-work the veteran tight ends deal. Ertz appeared in 15 games in 2019, catching 88 passes for 916 yards and six touchdowns. That was good to rank No.5 for fantasy tight ends in standard-scoring leagues.

Eagles | No surgery for Miles Sanders    Mon Jan 6, 12:29 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Miles Sanders (knee) was spotted wearing a brace on his left knee and on crutches following the team's NFC Wild Card loss to the Seattle Seahawks, but he insisted he will not require offseason surgery.

Footballguys view: Good news for the young back here. The Eagles found a quality starter when they picked up Sanders as a second-round pick out of Penn State in the 2019 NFL draft. He began the year as a reserve player but moved up the depth chart and into the starting role. He finished his rookie year with 818 rushing yards, three rushing touchdowns, 50 catches, 509 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns. Fantasy GMs can look at him as an RB2 with upside as the Eagles lead back for the 2020 season.

Eagles | Jason Peters will play in 2020    Mon Jan 6, 09:54 AM

Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent OT Jason Peters said he will play somewhere in 2020.

Footballguys view: Peters missed three games in 2019 with a knee problem but he was still a strong starter in 13 games for the Eagles. Undrafted out of Arkansas back in 2004, Peters became one of the best left tackles in the game and has been named to the Pro Bowl nine times. The Eagles drafted his replacement in Andre Dillard in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft, so Peters may be playing elsewhere in 2020.

Eagles | Philly ousted in Wild Card round    Sun Jan 5, 07:49 PM

Philadelphia Eagles QB Josh McCown completed 18-of-24 passes for 174 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in place of the injured QB Carson Wentz (head) in the NFC Wild Card Game against the Seattle Seahawks Monday, Jan. 5. RB Miles Sanders (ankle) shook off an ankle injury to rack up a game-best 69 rushing yards on 14 attempts while adding three grabs for eight yards. RB Boston Scott ran for 25 yards on six attempts with 23 yards on three catches. TE Dallas Goedert had seven catches for 73 yards, while TE Zach Ertz had two catches for 44 yards on four targets. WR Greg Ward Jr. was the top receiver with three receptions for 24 yards.

Footballguys view: Once Carson Wentz was bounced from the game with a concussion, the Eagles chances of winning dropped...although they were in it until the end. Wentz had made it through the regular season for a full 16 games for the first time in his career but was knocked from this game after about nine minutes. It's an unfortunate end for an Eagles team that had to fight through a ton of injuries on both sides of the ball just to make it to the postseason.
