Brett Martel, of The Associated Press, reports New Orleans Saints RB Reggie Bush (knee) is not traveling with the team for their Week 11 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to a person familiar with the decision. Bush is expected to return to practice next week.
| Our view: Bush had been experiencing swelling in his knee, and the Saints decided to play if safe with the injury. It's a knee bruise and not considered serious according to head coach Sean Payton. Expect a few more opportunities for Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell on the ground, but Bush's targets in the receiving game could be spread amongst all the receivers. |

Mike Triplett, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports New Orleans Saints RB Reggie Bush (knee) was held out of practice Friday, Nov. 20 with a bruised left knee. However, head coach Sean Payton didn't rule him out of Week 11. 'It's a knee bruise. With that, there's swelling,' said Payton, who considers Bush's injury more of a temporary issue than a long-term concern despite Bush's history of more significant left knee injuries. 'It's just a matter of trying to keep it immobilized, ice, treatment, seeing where it's at tomorrow.' Whether or not he is active, Payton indicated that Bush might not be available to return punts.
| Our view: The Saints could limit Bush, but will have to see how his knee responds tomorrow. It's a great matchup against the Bucs this week, but we could see more of Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell. |

The Associated Press reports the death of New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees, Mina Brees, has been ruled a suicide. A coroner concluded this week that Brees died of a prescription drug overdose and ruled the death a suicide. Autopsy results too longer than three months to be released, but that is typical for cases involving toxicology tests.

| Our view: Lance Moore's injury is lingering, so the Saints are looking for some help here. Yes, Nick Moore is Lance's brother, but he doesn't have the same type of game. Nick Moore once caught 20 passes in a game against Michigan, but he doesn't have the consistent hands that NFL teams desire. Aaron Kelly is a big target, but still raw as a route runner. His potential is huge if he could ever get the time to develop as a pro. Taurus Johnson might be the best receiver out of this group. He can get into his routes quickly, and changes direction without losing much speed. He can get separation out of his routes, but he is a little slender and can be pushed around off the line of scrimmage. |
