Chicago Bears DT Jeremiah Ratliff (ankle) suffered an ankle injury during the third preseason game Saturday, Aug. 29, and was in a walking boot after the game. DT Eddie Goldman (concussion) suffered a concussion during the game.

New York Jets DE Leonard Williams (knee) suffered a knee injury during the third preseason game Saturday, Aug. 29, and is scheduled to undergo an MRI Sunday, Aug. 30.

Footballguys view: There is optimism that the injury is only a bone bruise and Mo Wilkerson said Williams told him he is okay. If the Jets are without Williams and Sheldon Richardson to open the season, Cleveland's matchup in Week 1 gets a lot easier.

Buffalo Bills DT Marcell Dareus (leg) is not playing in the third preseason game Saturday, Aug. 29, because of a sore leg.

Jacksonville Jaguars DE Andre Branch (knee) suffered a knee injury during the third preseason game Friday, Aug. 28, and will not return.

Detroit Lions DE Ziggy Ansah (undisclosed), DE Jason Jones (knee) and LB DeAndre Levy (undisclosed) will not play in the third preseason game Friday, Aug. 28.

Green Bay Packers DE Letroy Guion will be suspended for the first three games of the regular season after his appeal was apparently denied.

Falcons | Ra'Shede Hageman should be in uniform    Thu Aug 27, 04:31 PM

Atlanta Falcons DT Ra'Shede Hageman (concussion) is expected to play in the third preseason game Thursday, Aug. 27.

Footballguys view: We'd like to see Hageman reach the potential we saw at the Senior Bowl before he was drafted, so with luck he'll be healthy. As a whole, the Falcons defense is uninspiring this year and no more than a very occasional portion of a Team Defense by Committee.

Panthers | Star Lotulelei should be ready    Tue Aug 25, 11:52 AM

Carolina Panthers DT Star Lotulelei (foot) is expected to be ready for the season opener.

Footballguys view: Getting the big man back in the middle will be a boost for the defense. Lotulelei is a mountain of a man, and his presence forces backs in another lane and into the waiting arms of linebackers like Thomas Davis and Luke Kuechly.

Detroit Lions DE Ziggy Ansah (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Friday, Aug. 21, after he limped off the field during the second preseason game Thursday, Aug. 20.

Footballguys view: Ansah has had trouble staying healthy during his career or he would have been moving into the elite DE tier in IDP leagues. This should give you pause before taking him too high in IDP leagues until we know more about the nature of his injury.
