Patriots | Adrian Clayborn could participate in OTAs Mon May 21, 09:34 PM
New England Patriots DE Adrian Clayborn (quad) has recovered from the minor quadriceps injury he suffered earlier in the offseason workout program, according to a source. As a result, it wouldn't be a surprise if he participated in OTAs on Tuesday, May 22, according to Jeff Howe of The Athletic.
|Footballguys view: The injury was originally supposed to limit Clayborn in OTAs. Regardless of whether or not he practices, Clayborn should be full strength by the time training camp rolls around. Coming off a career high 9.5 sacks for the Falcons last year, Clayborn brings veteran punch to the Patriots pass rush.|

Rams | Ogbonnia Okoronkwo had surgery Mon May 21, 07:07 PM
Los Angeles Rams DE Ogbonnia Okoronkwo (foot) recently had surgery as a result of a foot injury this offseason.
|Footballguys view: The Rams added Okoronkwo in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL draft. He was a fierce edge rusher for the Sooners in college, and he'll fit right in on one of the most ferocious defenses in the NFL. Head coach Sean McVay expects Okoronkwo to participate in training camp.|

Ravens | Brent Urban still recovering Mon May 21, 12:47 PM
Baltimore Ravens DE Brent Urban (foot) is still recovering from the foot injury he suffered last season but should be back on the field for training camp at the latest.
|Footballguys view: A fourth-round pick for the Ravens in 2014, Urban signed a one-year contract with the team earlier this offseason. The Lisfranc injury he suffered in 2017 limited him to only three games (all starts). We'll see what kind of participation level he can have during training camp in August.|

Rams | Aaron Donald not showing up Mon May 21, 09:31 AM
Los Angeles Rams DT Aaron Donald won't attend organized team activities Monday, May 21.
|Footballguys view: Donald is set to make around $6.8 million in the final year of his rookie contract. The 2018 Defensive Player of the Year is seriously underpaid but lacks leverage in the situation. He must report to the team a month before the start of the regular season if he wants to become a free agent in 2019. The Rams could franchise him for two years in a row after this season if need be. Both sides should work to come to an agreement before the start of training camp, but there's no telling the distance in negotiations at this time.|

|Footballguys view: Diggs is in the final year of his rookie contract and is set to make a little over $700,000 in 2018. The Vikings spent a ton of money to get QB Kirk Cousins, but they should be able to find a way to get Diggs a contract.|

Patriots | Adrian Clayborn could be limited for OTAs Sun May 20, 01:10 PM
New England Patriots DE Adrian Clayborn (quad) reportedly tweaked a quadriceps muscle during offseason workouts.
|Footballguys view: It wouldn't be an NFL offseason without Clayborn banged up in some way. He's one of the more oft-injured players in the league, so expect the Patriots to be cautious bringing him along from this latest ailment. While he is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, he may be limited during OTAs, which begin Monday, May 21.|

Lions | Detroit may be interested in two DTs Sat May 19, 01:07 PM
Free-agent DT Alan Branch (Patriots) and DT Ricky Jean-Francois (Patriots) could be options for the Detroit Lions because they are familiar with head coach Matt Patricia's defensive scheme, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Michael Rothstein.
|Footballguys view: The Patriots did not exercise Branch's option, and he's gotten little to no interest on the open market. It makes sense to reunite him with Patricia, and the Lions should have interest as they look for a Haloti Ngata replacement.|

Cowboys | DeMarcus Lawrence not worried about contract Thu May 17, 03:42 PM
Dallas Cowboys DE DeMarcus Lawrence said he is not worried about his contract situation because he believes he will receive a long-term extension if he plays well in 2018.
|Footballguys view: Currently on the franchise tag (that he signed), Lawrence is set to make a little over $17 million in 2018. The two sides have until mid July to work on a new long-term contract. After nine sacks combined in 2015 and 2016, Lawrence exploded for 15.0 sacks in his contract year. The Cowboys don't want him to get away, and even with that large one-year number we could see a deal hammered out before the deadline to do so.|

Raiders | Maurice Hurst signs contract Wed May 16, 03:55 PM
Oakland Raiders DT Maurice Hurst signed his four-year rookie deal Wednesday, May 16. Financial terms were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Hurst has first-round tools but fell to the fifth round due to a heart condition that obviously scared teams off. He's got a dash of Warren Sapp to his game and could prove to be the steal of the draft for the Raiders. Hurst, measuring in at 6'1" 292 pounds, gets off the line of scrimmage quickly and can find the play in a hurry. He's one of the most disruptive defensive players in this draft class and should be a great presence for the Raiders inside on the defensive line.|
Eagles | Cedric Thornton visited Eagles Wed May 16, 02:09 PM
Free-agent DT Cedric Thornton (Bills) recently worked out for the Philadephia Eagles.
|Footballguys view: Thornton spent four seasons with the Eagles (2012-2015) but that was with a different coaching regime. Over the last two years he's bounced from Dallas to Buffalo and now is once again looking for a new home.|

Philadelphia Eagles DE Brandon Graham (ankle) recently underwent surgery on his injured right ankle and could miss all organized team activities.

Bills | Ryan Russell to meet with Buffalo Tue May 15, 01:32 PM
Free-agent DE Ryan Russell (Buccaneers) is scheduled to visit with the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday, May 16.
|Footballguys view: A fifth-round pick (Purdue) for the Cowboys back in 2015, Russell was not tendered as a restricted free agent by the Buccaneers. At 6'4" 269 pounds, Russell has the physical tools but has always been a bit of a career underachiever...even dating back to his college days for the Boilermakers.|
Rams | LA Rams sign two, cut two Tue May 15, 01:15 PM

Saints | New Orleans adding Jay Bromley Mon May 14, 02:53 PM
Free-agent DT Jay Bromley (Giants) will be signing with the New Orleans Saints Monday, May 14, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: A third-round pick of the Giants in 2014, Bromley has always worked as a reserve player in the rotation on the defensive line. That's what he should continue doing for the Saints in 2018.|

Los Angeles Chargers third-round draft choice DT Justin Jones signed a four-year deal with the Chargers Saturday, May 12. Financial terms were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Jones looks long and lean at 6'3" 309 pounds. He's not too bulky, but Jones is strong at the point of attack and can stuff the run. Jones won't offer much as a pass rusher but can work in a rotation to plug up the middle.|

The Indianapolis Colts claimed DE Rakeem Nunez-Roches off waivers from the Kansas City Chiefs Friday, May 11. The team also waived LB Joshua Perry.
|Footballguys view: The Colts now take over Nunez-Roches' entire $1.9 million salary for 2018. It's a bit of an odd pairing given the Colts defensive scheme, but we'll see if a fresh start can do Nunez-Roches some good.|
