Chiefs | Phillip Dorsett interviews    Fri Jan 23, 03:01 AM

Miami WR Phillip Dorsett interviewed with the Kansas City Chiefs during Senior Bowl week in Mobile, Ala.

Footballguys view: The Chiefs need all the help they can get at wide receiver. Our very own Cecil Lammey and Matt Waldman liked what they saw from Dorsett at the Senior Bowl practices this week. Dorsett is quick off the line of scrimmage and elusive after the catch.

  Chiefs | 19 signed to Reserve/Futures contracts    Tue Jan 20, 04:30 PM

The Kansas City Chiefs signed TE Brandon Barden, WR Armon Binns, LB JoJo Dickson, DT Loni Fangupo, OT Curtis Feigt, LS Brandon Hartson, OG Ricky Henry, CB Aaron Hester, LS Jorgen Hus, WR Corbin Louks, CB Deji Olatoye, QB Terrelle Pryor, OG Jarrod Pughsley, WR Da'Rick Rogers, TE Adam Schiltz, OT Derek Sherrod, FB Spencer Ware, WR Fred Williams and DT Jerel Worthy to Reserve/Futures contracts Tuesday, Jan. 20.

Footballguys view: In super super deep dynasty leagues we're still holding out hope for Da'Rick Rogers. He's an incredible talent with a fantastic size/speed combination. Keep monitoring him on a WR-starved team like the Chiefs.

Chiefs | Tyler Bray has torn ACL    Tue Jan 20, 04:16 PM

Kansas City Chiefs QB Tyler Bray (knee) has a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Footballguys view: Fantasy owners in super deep dynasty leagues can let go of Bray. He was a long-shot coming out of Tennessee, but his arm strength always made him an interesting prospect. This knee injury could knock him out of the pros as a guy who was barely hanging onto a roster spot.

Chiefs | LaVon Brazill, Joe Morgan worked out    Sat Jan 10, 09:10 AM

Free-agent WR LaVon Brazill (Colts) and WR Joe Morgan (Saints) worked out for the Kansas City Chiefs Thursday, Jan. 8.

Footballguys view: Brazill has good speed to get down the field, but his time with the Colts was a disappointment. Morgan was always a tease with the Saints because of his size/speed combination, but he's never produced consistently. Both are only worth monitoring in super deep dynasty leagues.

Free-agent LB Erin Henderson (Vikings) is scheduled to work out for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Chiefs | Da'Rick Rogers signs    Thu Jan 8, 03:03 AM

The Kansas City Chiefs signed WR Da'Rick Rogers to a contract Wednesday, Jan. 7. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Ah what might have been. At least the Chiefs are adding a wide receiver with incredible natural talent. Rogers has failed to stick in the NFL, but he does have high upside. Keep an eye on him in super deep dynasty leagues.

Chiefs | Terrelle Pryor signs    Thu Jan 8, 02:58 AM

Updating a previous item, the Kansas City Chiefs signed QB Terrelle Pryor to a one-year contract Wednesday, Jan. 7.

Footballguys view: An interesting move for a team that already has Alex Smith, Chase Daneil, Aaron Murray and Tyler Bray on the roster. Pryor is a fine athlete with a rocket arm, but he struggles with accuracy and decision making as a passer.

Chiefs | Terrelle Pryor working out    Wed Jan 7, 12:38 PM

Free-agent QB Terrelle Pryor (Seahawks) is working out for the Kansas City Chiefs Wednesday, Jan. 7, according to a source. Pryor is only working out as a quarterback.

Footballguys view: Pryor is still trying to prove that he can be a QB at this level even though some have suggested a position switch. He's athletic and has a rocket arm, but Pryor fails to read defenses quickly.

Chiefs | Aaron Hester signs    Tue Jan 6, 06:10 PM

The Kansas City Chiefs signed CB Aaron Hester to a Reserve/Futures contract Tuesday, Jan. 6.

Chiefs | Alex Smith unattractive to WRs?    Mon Jan 5, 07:04 PM

Kansas City Chiefs QB Alex Smith has earned a reputation for throwing the shorter routes, which means receivers often don't pile up big statistics when they play with him. That could have an effect on free-agent wideouts deciding to sign with the Chiefs over other teams.

Footballguys view: The Chiefs were *this* close to signing Emmanuel Sanders last offseason. Instead, Sanders chose "wide receiver heaven" with Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. Sanders put up career-high numbers in 2014 with 101 catches, 1,404 yards and nine receiving touchdowns. He would not have put up those numbers in Kansas City.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe could be cut    Mon Jan 5, 07:00 PM

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe is a candidate to be cut this offseason if the team can't work out a reduced contract with him.

Footballguys view: Bowe is not set to be a free agent until 2018 with his current contract. This deal pays him an annual average salary of $11.2 million and it had $20 million guaranteed. This was one of the worst deals the Chiefs have done in recent years.

Chiefs | Corbin Louks signs     Fri Jan 2, 05:16 PM

The Kansas City Chiefs signed WR Corbin Louks to a Reserve/Futures contract Friday, Jan. 2.

Chiefs | Brandon Hartson signs futures deal    Wed Dec 31, 07:11 PM

The Kansas City Chiefs signed free-agent LS Brandon Hartson (Bears) to a futures contract Wednesday, Dec. 31. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Chiefs | 12 signed to Futures contracts    Tue Dec 30, 07:17 PM

The Kansas City Chiefs signed TE Brandon Barden, WR Armon Binns, LB JoJo Dickson, DT Loni Fangupo, OT Curtis Feigt, OG Ricky Henry, LS Jorgen Hus, DB Deji Olatoye, OG Jarrod Pughsley, TE Adam Schiltz, RB Spencer Ware and WR Fred Williams to Reserve/Futures contracts Tuesday, Dec. 30.

Footballguys view: Binns and Ware are worth keeping an eye on here if you play in a super deep dynasty league. Binns is a big-bodied receiver with good my-ball mentality, but his lack of athleticism has held him back at that position. Ware is an instinctive running back/fullback 'tweener from LSU. He has a nose for the end zone, plus he can run over defenders with ease.

Chiefs | Alex Smith won't need surgery    Fri Dec 26, 05:32 PM

Kansas City Chiefs QB Alex Smith (spleen) will heal on his own and isn't expected to need surgery for a lacerated spleen. Trainer Rick Burkholder said Smith's recovery time should be around six weeks. Smith could return if the team advances deep into the playoffs. 'From a long-term standpoint and from a health standpoint from Alex, he's going to be fine. That's going to heal up,' Burkholder said. Smith wasn't diagnosed with a lacerated spleen until midway through this week after he put in a few practices.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles questionable    Fri Dec 26, 04:52 PM

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (ankle, hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 26, and is listed as questionable for Week 17.

Footballguys view: Charles will be relied upon heavily with Chase Daniel in at quarterback, but he hasn't been a strong fantasy play since Week 14, so his daily fantasy price might not be justified.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe's status in question    Fri Dec 26, 04:45 PM

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 26, and is listed as questionable for Week 17.

Footballguys view: Bowe is the second best fantasy play in a wide receiver corps that hasn't scored a touchdown this year. He missed the Week 17 game that Chase Daniel started last year.

Chiefs | Alex Smith out for Week 17    Fri Dec 26, 12:12 PM

Kansas City Chiefs QB Alex Smith (spleen) will not play in the team's Week 17 game after suffering a lacerated spleen.

Footballguys view: Chase Daniel gets the start with both teams' playoff hopes on the line. Daniel was serviceable as the Chiefs starter against a playoff bound Chargers team last year in Week 17, so Kansas City's offense might not drop off that much without Smith.

The Kansas City Chiefs released LB Darin Drakeford from their practice squad Reserve/Injured list.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe has sprained shoulder    Mon Dec 22, 04:51 PM

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (shoulder) is dealing with what the team is calling a sprained shoulder, and his availability for Week 17 against the San Diego Chargers is in question. However, head coach Andy Reid is optimistic that Bowe will be able to play in the season finale. Bowe missed all of practice last week while dealing with the flu and still caught six passes for 57 yards in Week 16. "Knowing Dwayne, he doesn't miss much,' Reid said. "I think he'll be OK once it's all said and done here. We've got a little different schedule because of Christmas and we'll practice tomorrow. It will be a stretch for him to practice to be able to do that tomorrow but as the week goes on, he'll be there.'

Footballguys view: Bowe may not play in Week 17...and fantasy owners won't notice. Bowe is an unexciting fantasy option, and he's unlikely to see many lineups even if he does play against the Chargers this week.

Chiefs | Albert Wilson emerging for KC    Mon Dec 22, 04:45 PM

Kansas City Chiefs WR Albert Wilson played 58 of the team's 66 offensive snaps in Week 16 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he had five catches for a team-high 87 yards in the loss. He has emerged as the team's best receiving threat in recent weeks, and he has 12 catches for 209 yards in the last three contests.

Footballguys view: Dynasty owners need to keep an eye on Wilson here. The Chiefs don't have a good group of wide receivers, but Wilson has been their best. We expect the Chiefs to address the position this offseason through the draft and/or free agency.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe questionable    Fri Dec 19, 04:48 PM

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (flu) did not practice for the third straight day this week Friday, Dec. 19, and is questionable for Week 16 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, head coach Andy Reid is confident that Bowe will play against the Steelers. "He's taken in some fluids and trying to maintain keeping those fluids in," Reid said. "We'll just see how he does. He is making improvement, but he did not practice today."

Footballguys view: Bowe has a great matchup against Pittsburgh, but he could be weak and not up for the game physically if he doesn't get better by game time. Monitor this if you are thinking about starting him.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles fully practices    Thu Dec 18, 05:33 PM

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee, ankle) participated fully in practice Thursday, Dec. 18.

Footballguys view: One of the few preseason top ten draft picks which has paid off, Charles should carry you to some great points this week in your RB1 slot. While we aren't so sure the Chiefs will beat the Steelers, we are confident that Charles will put you in good position to win your matchup.
