Steelers | Roethlisberger, OC clicking    Mon Dec 15, 07:20 PM

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger and offensive coordinator Todd Haley are working very well together this season. With the game on the line late in the fourth quarter in Week 15 against the Atlanta Falcons, Haley gave Roethlisberger the freedom to decide between two different plays. The fact that Haley didn't insist on a run with just one yard to gain shows how well the relationship between the coordinator and QB is going.

Footballguys view: Giving Roethlisberger freedom to run the offense has benefited the Steelers greatly. Haley is taking more of a backseat on game day, and it's helped the team thrive on offense. Roethlisberger was 12-for-14 for 191 yards on plays in which the Falcons rushed at least five defenders, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell has 2,043 total yards this season, eclipsing the team record of 2,034 previously held by former RB Barry Foster.

Footballguys view: Bell is playing at a level that Foster, and probably even Franco Harris never reached in a Steelers uniform. He has been neck and neck with Demarco Murray for the most dominant running back this year.

Footballguys view: Brown has had 30 straight games with at five catches and 50 yards, an unheard of level of consistency from a fantasy wide receiver. He might be the first wide receiver off of the board in PPR leagues next year.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (non-injury related) practiced fully Thursday, Dec. 11.

Footballguys view: Biggety Ben Roethlisberger is not only good to go, he is a top 5 QB1 this week against a poor Atlanta team. We don't expect him to get back to his six touchdown marathons but he should have some very good numbers.

Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger stayed patient    Tue Dec 9, 05:17 PM

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger stayed patient in the team's Week 14 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, and he was 5-for-7 for 147 yards and two touchdowns on play-action passes, according to ESPN Stats & Information. In the game, he went 25-for-39 for 350 yards and three touchdowns, and he did not force any throws that led to turnovers. Roethlisberger has thrown five of his eight interceptions this year on the road.

Footballguys view: Roethlisberger didn't force things, but he stayed patient and was able to pick apart the Bengals defense. It didn't hurt to have Le'Veon Bell running wild on Sunday.

Steelers | PIT not worried about overworking Le'Veon Bell     Tue Dec 2, 02:14 PM

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell is the only player with at least 1,000 rushing yards and 600 receiving yards this year, but head coach Mike Tomlin isn't concerned about overworking the team's running back the way QB Ben Roethlisberger is. 'I'm not overly concerned about that,' Tomlin said. 'He's a highly conditioned guy, he's a mentally tough guy. Personally I think he's built for it. He's excited about having an opportunity to do that for us.'

Footballguys view: If fantasy drafts were to be held today, Bell would arguably be the first-overall pick. Bell has been getting it done on the ground, using his power and speed to eat up yards. He's also been incredible as a receiver out of the backfield. The Steelers should be going through Bell as much as possible.

Steelers | Big Ben worried about Le'Veon    Tue Dec 2, 12:26 PM

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell is the 'best all-around back in the game,' according to QB Ben Roethlisberger, but the quarterback is concerned about Bell's workload down the stretch. Bell is the only rusher in the league with at least 1,000 rushing yards and 600 receiving yards this year, and he played all but two of the team's 90 offensive snaps in Week 13. 'I don't know of a running back since I've been here that has basically been able to play every single snap, but you do have to be careful,' Roethlisberger said. 'I hope we don't run him into the ground if you will, but it's that stretch of the year where everyone's going to give it everything they have. He probably wants to be in there every single play because that's the type of player he is.' Roethlisberger said making RB Dri Archer part of the offense on regular plays is key.

Footballguys view: The Steelers seem content to ride Bell into the ground. They dumped LeGarrette Blount a couple of weeks ago, and they don't really have a back behind Bell that could take a few carries to lighten the load.
