Summary

For a 3-4 team with a storied history of sack production from the outside linebacker position, it was strange to see a pair of defensive ends lead the team in sacks. Heyward's 7 and Stephon Tuitt's 6.5 were the best on the team in 2015. This tandem of defensive ends rivals that of any team in the league using a predominantly three man front. Both of these players are prototypical 3-4 ends with the size and power to hold the point of attach and eat up blockers. What they have that most at the position do not is an extra burst as pass rushers. They are no threat to win the sack title or finish among the top ten fantasy options at the position, but both Heyward and Tuitt are likely to put up 35-40 tackles and 6-8 sacks. Such numbers will make them solid second starters or top shelf depth in most leagues. (May 27)
