Cardinals | Larry Fitzgerald has owned Philly    Fri Oct 24, 12:53 PM

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald has at least one touchdown (10 total) and averages 6.7 catches for 107 yards in six career games against the Philadelphia Eagles, his Week 8 opponent. However, Fitzgerald is tempering his expectations this time around, as he knows he isn't the target magnet he once was. He's only on pace for 61 catches for 755 yards this season. Head coach Bruce Arians isn't concerned with anyone on the team building their stats, and the offense thrives on spreading the ball around. Only RB Andre Ellington (25 catches) has more than Fitzgerald on the team.

Cardinals | Andre Ellington's foot still sore    Thu Oct 23, 10:52 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington (foot) said the partially torn tendon in his foot probably won't feel better until after the year. 'I understand it's never going to feel good,' Ellington said. 'It's probably not going to feel good until January or February or whenever the season is over with.'

Footballguys view: Ellington hasn't hit his ceiling for dynasty leagues, and in redraft he will carry this limited ceiling for the rest of the season, but he is showing his toughness under a heavy workload, and Ellington is still on track to be one of the most valuable fantasy running backs this year and long term.

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (ankle) did not practice in full Thursday, Oct. 23.

Footballguys view: Brown's ankle is slowing him down a bit. Even though the Cardinals passing game looks better with Carson Palmer, we're not falling all over ourselves to get Brown into the lineup. He's a desperation fantasy play this week.

Cardinals | Andre Ellington extremely productive    Tue Oct 21, 03:58 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington had 88 yards rushing and 72 yards receiving in Week 7, and only four players in franchise history since 1960 to have more yards from scrimmage than Ellington's 653 through six games. Ellington has also been playing with a partially torn tendon in his foot. Head coach Bruce Arians said Ellington will continue to sit out of practice on Wednesdays.

Footballguys view: Ellington is one of the most explosive players in the game today. It's wise for the Cardinals to use him as much as possible. However, fantasy owners were upset that Stepfan Taylor (and not Ellington) scored a couple of touchdowns for the Cardinals in Week 7.

Cardinals | Carson Palmer needs practice reps    Tue Oct 14, 12:04 PM

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (shoulder) said his right shoulder felt great Monday, Oct. 13, but he needs as many repetitions in practice this week as possible heading into Week 7 against the Oakland Raiders. He won't throw Wednesday, Oct. 15, but head coach Bruce Arians said the plan is for him to do 'hopefully everything' in practice. Palmer is unsure how long it'll take to regain full strength in his arm. 'It's going to take a while. It's going to take at least a week of throwing, I would think. It's kind of what I'm expecting to really get it back. It just needs to get back in shape. It's just out of shape. It's like sitting on the couch after training camp -- you have a knee issue or high ankle sprain, you just get out of shape, you get out of the football shape. My arm's out of throwing shape, and that'll come back,' Palmer said.

Footballguys view: The team isn't worried about his shoulder problem, but people need to keep an eye on the practice reports to see what Palmer does this week. We'll have better clarity about his status at the end of the week.

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (shoulder) said the pain subsided enough for him to get a good night's rest after the team's Week 6 win Sunday, Oct. 12, and head coach Bruce Arians said Palmer's nerve in his right shoulder didn't regress after playing against the Washington Redskins. "I was concerned until I saw him today," Arians said. "And then now he feels great, so we should just get better and better and just get stronger." Arians is hopeful that Palmer will take part in all practices this week.

Footballguys view: Good news for the Cardinals and Palmer here. If they're not worried, then we're not worried--mostly. Still monitor the practice reports to watch Palmer's progress through the week.

Cardinals | Larry Fitzgerald had bigger role    Mon Oct 13, 12:45 PM

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald was a big part of the game plan in Week 6 against the Washington Redskins with QB Carson Palmer back in the starting role. Fitzgerald had six catches for 98 yards and his first touchdown of the season, and he tied a season high for catches and a season high for yards. He had only 13 catches for 164 yards in the team's first four games.

Footballguys view: Palmer being back in the starting lineup made the passing game look better. His presence certainly helped Fitzgerald put up better numbers for his fantasy owners.

Cardinals | Michael Floyd gets on board    Sun Oct 12, 04:47 PM

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd hauled in his first touchdown reception of the season in the Week 6 game against the Washington Redskins. It was the first touchdown grab between Floyd and WR Larry Fitzgerald, who continues to search for that first elusive score.

Footballguys view: Carson Palmer doesn't have the arm to stretch the field today, but he is still an aggressive passer and he gave Floyd the chance to win in the air in the end zone.

Cardinals | Carson Palmer active    Sun Oct 12, 03:03 PM

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (shoulder) is active for the team's Week 6 game.

The Arizona Cardinals have declared RB Marion Grice, LB Desmond Bishop, LB Thomas Keiser, LB Glenn Carson, DT Bruce Gaston, TE Troy Niklas, DE Calais Campbell inactive for Week 6.

Cardinals | Carson Palmer likely to play    Sun Oct 12, 10:33 AM

Cardinals | Drew Stanton cleared to play    Fri Oct 10, 10:29 PM

Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (concussion) has passed all his exams and has been cleared to play in the Week 6 game against the Washington Redskins Sunday, Oct. 12.

Footballguys view: Stanton is not a lock to start and we might not know until game-time if he will start or if he will back up Logan Thomas, so Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald owners can't get too excited yet, but things are looking up for Stanton.

  Cardinals | Cardinals QB a game-time decision?    Fri Oct 10, 04:47 PM

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (shoulder) was throwing at around 80 percent and some decent velocity Friday, Oct. 10, but head coach Bruce Arians said all three quarterbacks could be active in Week 6 against the Washington Redskins. A decision on who will start might not come until around game time, and it'll depend on health. Both Palmer and QB Drew Stanton (concussion) were limited Friday in practice and are questionable for Sunday, Oct. 12. Stanton has yet to take or pass his concussion test.

Footballguys view: In other words, don't wait around for your Cardinal receivers. Andre Ellington is the only viable option for fantasy lineups on Arizona this week.
