Quick fantasy outlook: At 6'5" David Nelson isn't your typical slot receiver. But the interior of the field is where he does most of his damage. His role in the Rob Chudzinski/Norv Turner offense is yet to be determined, but he has a few obstacles to overcome. He tore his ACL in Week 1 last year. Even if he rehabs properly and is ready for camp, he'll be battling two other slot receivers (Travis Benjamin and Davone Bess) for the limited opportunities available at the position as Chudzinski and Turner both seem to use tight ends more than slot men on the interior.
