Week 3: vs Pittsburgh Steelers

All WR vs PIT

FBG says: Great matchup. No one expected Ryan Fitzpatrick to create yet another quarterback controversy at age 35, but that's where things are headed. Fitzpatrick has been the NFL's MVP through 2 weeks, topping 400 yards and throwing 4 touchdowns in each game. And he's done so against two of 2017's best pass defenses. He shredded the gambling Saints secondary in the opener, routinely throwing Mike Evans, DeSean Jackson, and company turning into huge plays. And last week he braved the Eagles' tenacious pass rush, using play action and trust in his playmakers to dominate again. With Evans boxing out every smaller corner he faces and Jackson scorching slot men off the line, there's no clear recipe to slowing the flow. Of course, Fitzpatrick has always been a volatile passer, one deeply in love with the deep ball and willing to test traffic. The bottom could indeed fall out at any point, resulting in a 25-of-50, 3-interception nightmare. But the connection he has right now with Evans, Jackson, Chris Godwin, and O.J. Howard is magical. All Buccaneer receivers are taking advantage of the aggressiveness and winning their downfield matchups, and there's no football reason to expect that to slow against one of the league's worst secondaries. It's safe to say there are holes in this Pittsburgh pass defense. Some may blame Week 2's implosion on Joe Haden's absence, but that's very shortsighted. Haden is a shell of his former self, and the rest of this secondary is subpar at best. Artie Burns continues to struggle on the outside, while slot man Mike Hilton is solid in coverage but a poor tackler after the catch. With or without Haden on the field, the Tampa Bay receivers shouldn't have much trouble winning battles down the field. There's also a lack of coverage talent at the linebacker and safety spots; Travis Kelce's touchdown catch put that on full display last week. Simply put, there's little to like among this unit aside from edge rusher T.J. Watt, and the red-hot Tampa Bay offense is licking its chops.
