The Baltimore Ravens have declared CB Cassius Vaughn, TE Chase Ford, WR Joe Morgan, DL Kapron Lewis-Moore, OG Kelechi Osemele, TE Nick Boyle, RB Terrance West inactive for Week 11.

Saints | Joe Morgan will have a role    Thu Sep 17, 11:18 AM

New Orleans Saints WR Joe Morgan will have a role in the Week 2 game after he rejoined the team Wednesday, Sept. 16, according to head coach Sean Payton. Payton said they could use his speed to help spell WR Brandin Cooks.

Footballguys view: He shouldn't have a roll for your fantasy team though, and is barely worth a bench spot in deeper leagues.

Saints | Joe Morgan re-signs with Saints    Fri Apr 3, 08:44 AM

Free-agent WR Joe Morgan re-signed with the New Orleans Saints Friday, April 3.

Footballguys view: Morgan had a rocky season with the Saints last year, including a two-game suspension, and he was cut in December. We still like his prospects in super deep dynasty leagues. He missed all of the 2013 season due to knee injuries, and he needs to be more assignment sound if he's ever going to play up to his potential as a pro.

Chiefs | LaVon Brazill, Joe Morgan worked out    Sat Jan 10, 09:10 AM

Free-agent WR LaVon Brazill (Colts) and WR Joe Morgan (Saints) worked out for the Kansas City Chiefs Thursday, Jan. 8.

Footballguys view: Brazill has good speed to get down the field, but his time with the Colts was a disappointment. Morgan was always a tease with the Saints because of his size/speed combination, but he's never produced consistently. Both are only worth monitoring in super deep dynasty leagues.

Jets | Work out several players    Wed Dec 24, 02:15 AM

The New York Jets worked out several free agents earlier in the week, including WR Joe Morgan (Saints), QB Bryn Renner, QB Eric Ward (Canadian Football League), WR Greg Childs (Vikings), QB Dominique Davis, LB Brandon Denmark and LB Aaron Hester (Lions).

Footballguys view: There's no word on whether or not the Jets are going to sign any of these guys. Fantasy owners in super super deep dynasty leagues should monitor all of these players, especially the quarterbacks.

Saints | Two Saints WRs could see more time    Mon Nov 17, 02:34 PM

New Orleans Saints WRs Robert Meachem and Joe Morgan will likely be asked to play more with WR Brandin Cooks (thumb) out for an extended period.

Footballguys view: Neither player has a ton of fantasy upside. We like Kenny Stills here with Cooks done for about a month. Stills is likely to have a much bigger role in the offense.

The New Orleans Saints have declared WR Joe Morgan, C Jonathan Goodwin, RB Khiry Robinson, LB Kyle Knox, WR Nick Toon, RB Pierre Thomas, CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste inactive for Week 8.

Saints | Joe Morgan ready to practice    Thu Jul 24, 06:57 PM

New Orleans Saints WR Joe Morgan (knee) is good to go for practice, according to head coach Sean Payton.

Footballguys view: Good news for the Saints and Morgan here. He has talent and can be a valuable deep threat for the team when healthy. The problem for Morgan is staying healthy. He suffered a partially torn ACL as well as a torn meniscus in August a year ago and missed the entire season. The team decided not to tender Morgan in March, but he later signed a one-year deal for $495,000 to return to the Saints. He's buried on the depth chart at this time, but he could rise quickly if he finally plays up to his potential.

Saints | Joe Morgan hoping to prove himself    Fri Jun 6, 09:50 PM

New Orleans Saints WR Joe Morgan (knee) is hoping to carve out a role in the offense after missing all of last season with a torn ACL. He estimates that his health is at 80 percent, but he hopes to be ready for the start of training camp.

Footballguys view: Morgan has made a few spectacular plays as a deep threat, and he was expected to take over for Devery Henderson last year before suffering the injury. Now, the team has drafted Brandin Cooks, who has arguably even better jets than Morgan, so Morgan will be fighting for a roster spot.

Saints | Joe Morgan re-signs    Tue Mar 18, 07:10 PM

The New Orleans Saints re-signed WR Joe Morgan to an undisclosed one-year deal Tuesday, March 18.

Footballguys view: Morgan was set to come on as the #3 receiver in the offense and main deep threat in the Saints offense, before tearing his ACL in training camp last year. They bet that he wouldn't be signed in free agency instead of offering the restricted free agent a second-round tender, and they were correct. He'll be a good sleeper if 2013 fifth-round pick Kenny Stills stumbles.

The New Orleans Saints will not tender offers to restricted free-agent FB Jed Collins and WR Joe Morgan, which will make them unrestricted free agents. The team is still interested in re-signing both players.

Footballguys view: Morgan is an interesting player to keep an eye on in super deep dynasty leagues. We like his upside because of his size/speed combination.

Saints | Two RFAs may not receive tender offers    Thu Mar 6, 07:13 PM

Saints | Joe Morgan could get low tender    Thu Feb 27, 11:33 PM

New Orleans Saints restricted free-agent WR Joe Morgan could receive the lowest tender offer this offseason. The team could also try to sign him to a more affordable contract.

Footballguys view: Morgan's speed is needed in an offense that is seeing its top wide receivers starting to lose a step. He should be ready to go for training camp after tearing his ACL in last year's camp.

Saints | In early discussions with four     Wed Feb 26, 05:23 PM

The New Orleans Saints are in early discussions with OT Zach Strief, LB Parys Haralson, SS Rafael Bush and WR Joe Morgan on new contracts. All are scheduled to become free agents in March.

Footballguys view: Morgan has stretch the field speed and he projected to be Devery Henderson, but better before he tore his ACL in training camp. Retaining him would be a good idea for this team unless they are smitten with the possibilities of Kenny Stills as a deep threat.

Saints | Joe Morgan to miss season    Wed Aug 7, 01:03 PM

New Orleans Saints WR Joe Morgan (knee) will miss the entire 2013 season because of a partially torn anterior cruciate ligament as well as a torn meniscus.

Footballguys view: We had Morgan as the #3 most productive WR for the Saints so it's a tough blow but not a devastating injury for the Saints (it is for Morgan obviously). But still something to watch. We'll be looking to see how the team reacts and who looks to fill the void from Morgan. Guys like Steve Breaston, Nick Toon, and Kenny Stills will compete for that spot.

Saints | Younger WRs could get more chances    Tue Aug 6, 12:27 AM

New Orleans WRs Saalim Hakim, Preston Parker, Kenny Stills, Andy Tanner and Nick Toon could each see bigger roles following the injury to WR Joe Morgan (knee), who is likely to miss at least a few weeks. However, the team values experience in the top three receiver roles, and it is believed veteran WR Steve Breaston will get a long look as the No. 3 first before any of the younger players.

Footballguys view: Toon is the player to watch here. If healthy Toon has good size and the wingspan to make plays in the red zone. Toon is not a quick twitch athlete and needs to be a more refined route runner if he wants to play up to his potential.

Saints | Steve Breaston could be used as No. 3 WR    Tue Aug 6, 12:26 AM

New Orleans Saints WR Steve Breaston could get a shot as the No. 3 wide receiver behind starting WRs Marques Colston (foot) and Lance Moore following the injury to WR Joe Morgan (knee).

Footballguys view: Breaston has the experience over other young WRs (like Nick Toon) on the Saints roster. He's not the same player he used to be but should be asked to run clear out routes deep to open things up underneath.

New Orleans Saints WR Joe Morgan (undisclosed) was help off the field by trainers during practice Saturday, Aug. 3, because of an undisclosed injury.

Saints | Joe Morgan battling for No. 3 job    Tue Jul 30, 01:34 PM

New Orleans Saints WR Joe Morgan is battling WRs Nick Toon, Kenny Stills and Courtney Roby for the No. 3 wide receiver spot in training camp behind WRs Marques Colston and Lance Moore.

Footballguys view: Morgan is an interesting name to remember. He's got an intriguing size/speed combination and can track the ball deep. If he plays up to his potential then he could make a nice 'what the heck' flex from week to week.

Saints | Nick Toon to have bigger role?    Sun Jun 9, 08:08 PM

New Orleans Saints WR Nick Toon (foot) appears more comfortable in the offense despite missing all of his rookie season in 2012 due to a foot injury. He will be among those trying to beat out WR Joe Morgan for the No. 3 wide receiver duties.

Footballguys view: Toon is a large target with a big wingspan and good 'my ball' mentality. He's not the most explosive player and needs to hone his route running in order to get open consistently at the pro level.

Saints | Joe Morgan could be No. 3 WR    Thu Jun 6, 05:00 PM

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said he believes WR Joe Morgan could be the team's No. 3 wide receiver and deep threat this season. Morgan's roster spot seems secure even though he was arrested for driving while intoxicated last month.

Footballguys view: Morgan has good downfield speed and can take the top off the defense. He could be the team's third WR but could be fourth or fifth in targets behind Marques Colston, Jimmy Graham, Lance Moore, and Darren Sproles.

Saints | Joe Morgan arrested    Wed May 29, 10:12 AM

New Orleans Saints WR Joe Morgan was arrested Saturday, May 25, and charged with DWI and driving with no license, according to arrest reports. Morgan fell asleep at the wheel, failed a field sobriety test and registered a 0.218 blood alcohol content.

Footballguys view: Morgan has an opportunity to have a bigger role with the team this season. He's a name to remember late in fantasy drafts because of his size/speed combination. We'll have to wait until the legal process is done before knowing how big of an impact this arrest will have on his season.

Saints | Joe Morgan working on route running    Fri May 24, 10:24 AM

New Orleans Saints WR Joe Morgan said he'll have to work on his intermediate route running to win the No. 3 receiver spot. Six of his 10 receptions last season were for over 30 yards, so defenses will game-plan on him being their deep threat.

Footballguys view: This is an important note for fantasy owners. Morgan could be the WR3 for the Saints in 2013 and that makes him a nice sleeper to consider late in your draft. He's got a good size/speed combination and can make difficult catches seem routine. He made only 10 catches last year but averaged an outstanding 37.9 yards per catch.

Saints | Joe Morgan expected to get bigger role    Thu Apr 11, 09:30 PM

New Orleans Saints WR Joe Morgan is expected to have a bigger role in the offense next season because he is the No. 3 wide receiver on the depth chart. He said he needs to work on his short and intermediate routes to make himself a more complete receiver.

Footballguys view: Morgan is more sure-handed than Devery Henderson, and just as athletic. He could be a breakout player in 2013 and should be stashed away in deep dynasty leagues.

Saints | Joe Morgan expected to have bigger role     Fri Dec 28, 02:28 PM

New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael said he expects WR Joe Morgan to have a bigger role in the offense next season.
