Week 13: at Pittsburgh Steelers

Mark and Joe say: Good matchup. Drew Brees threw 35/45 for 420 yards, three TDs and one interception against the Ravens last week (and had a couple of other TDs that could have been reeled in with some better luck) - though the Saints lost Brees' fantasy owners probably won last week if they started him. Jimmy Graham (10 targets for 6/47/2 receiving) led the team in TDs, while Kenny Stills (nine for 8/98/0) led the team in receiving. Marques Colston also visited the end zone (four for 4/82/1) and Joe Morgan made two big plays on the night with a 67-yard rush and a 62-yard reception. It looks like Stills will work out just fine taking over for Brandin Cooks. The Steelers' pass D is ranked 16th in the NFL averaging 241.6 net yards passing allowed per game, with 19 passing scores given up vs. eight interceptions (tied for 20th in the NFL) and 20 sacks (25th) generated to date. They are a mediocre-to-sub-par bunch pretty much across the board, as you can see. Zach Mettenberger (15/24 for 263 net yards, two TDs and one interception thrown, with zero sacks taken) and Michael Vick (10/18 for 125 yards, two TDs and zero interceptions, with four sacks taken for -7 yards) both notched two passing scores on the Steelers in their last two games played. Advantage, New Orleans.

Recent Game Summaries

2014 Week 11 vs CIN (1 / 1 / 7 / 0 rec)

Morgan finally got involved for the Saints as the talented young player caught an out-route for a modest gain of seven yards. Cooks' injury potentially opens the door for Morgan to get more opportunities over the next month.

2014 Week 12 vs BAL (1 / 1 / 62 / 0 rec, 1 / 67 / 0 rush)

Morgan got an opportunity to run the ball on the second play of the game. He took a reverse handoff and sprinted down the left sideline for 67 yards, showing off his blazing speed. Only a horse-collar tackle by a Ravens CB at the two yard line kept him out of the end zone. Morgan made a second huge play in the first quarter afer he got a couple steps on the defense on a deep go route and Brees hit him in stride for a 62-yard-gain. Only a diving shoe-string tackle by the CB kept if from being a 71-yard touchdown. Despite the two big plays early, Morgan remained the Saints' #4 WR getting far less playing time than Nick Toon.

Saints | Two Saints WRs could see more time (Mon Nov 17, 02:34 PM) - New Orleans Saints WRs Robert Meachem and Joe Morgan will likely be asked to play more with WR Brandin Cooks (thumb) out for an extended period.

Our View: Neither player has a ton of fantasy upside. We like Kenny Stills here with Cooks done for about a month. Stills is likely to have a much bigger role in the offense.
