Week 5: vs Baltimore Ravens

Mark and Joe say: Great matchup. Andrew Luck is guiding the NFL's top passing attack after four contests, with a season average of 326 yards passing per game, with 13 TD throws vs. just four interceptions given away. He's thrown almost 70% completions with 115/167 for 1,305 yards passing, 13 TDs and four interceptions, while also rushing for 13/53/1 on the season. His main targets are Reggie Wayne (33 targets for 23/307/1 receiving) and T.Y. Hilton (38 for 22/291/0) at wide receiver; Dwyane Allen (15 for 1/145/3) and Coby Fleener (19 for 10/109/2) at tight end; and Ahmad Bradshaw (16 for 14/134/4) at running back. Hakeem Nicks has also seen some quality opportunities during September (18 for 12/94/2). As you can see, Luck spreads the ball around widely, making it difficult to defense all the options on each down. The Ravens' pass D ranks 24th in the NFL averaging 260.2 net passing yards allowed per game, with three passing scores allowed over four games, but only one interception (next-to-last in the NFL) and just four sacks (tied for 28th in the NFL) generated to date. They allowed 20/34 for 248 net yards passing, one TD and zero interceptions to the Panthers last week (with two sacks for -20 yards) and gave Brian Hoyer 19/25 for 290 yards, one TD and zero interceptions with zero sacks two games back. This is a great week for Luck owners - he has a fairly easy matchup and a tough matchup in the rushing phase means Luck will have to throw early and often in this one.
