Lions | Rashean Mathis agrees to terms Wed Mar 18, 01:18 PM
Free-agent CB Rashean Mathis (Lions) has agreed to terms with the Detroit Lions Wednesday, March 18, on a two-year deal worth $3.5 million, according to a source. He is scheduled to make $2 million in 2015.
Footballguys view: Mathis was arguably the best corner remaining on the open market. The Lions needed to find a starter opposite Darius Slay, and they felt Mathis was worth keeping around. Mathis won't count that much against the cap, and he should be able to provide the team with quality play. Last year, Mathis finished the season as the 12th-best corner in the league, according to Pro Football Focus. |
