Summary

"Ziggy" Ansah had a very disappointing campaign in 2016, only logging two sacks on the year. Part of the reason for this was that Ansah spent much of last season battling an ankle injury. He only missed three contests, but the injury clearly kept him from being the explosive player he had been in 2015. The other rationale for the lack of production was that there was little to no pass rush generated from the rest of the team. The Lions only generated 26 sacks, the second lowest total in the league. The team shook up the front seven significantly in an effort to improve their ability to generate pressure. If Ansah can stay healthy and his teammates can keep offenses from completely keying upon him, it's reasonable to expect Ansah to bounce back. For dynasty purposes, it's also worth noting that Ansah is a free agent in 2018 and the team has not made any move to extend him as of this writing. (May 30)
