Lions | Nick Fairley could be lost for season (Tue Oct 28, 04:56 PM) - Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions DT Nick Fairley (knee) isn't certain to return this season, according to head coach Jim Caldwell. Fairley is dealing with a sprained knee, but there is hope that he can return in four to five weeks. Fairley had to be helped off the field in Week 8, and he was placed on a cart and taken to the locker room. He had 14 tackles and a sack through eight games.

Our View: Earlier reports seemed to indicate that Fairley would be out 4-5 weeks. Now, the timetable is non-existent. Consider him doubtful to return until we hear more about the nature of this knee injury.

Lions | Nick Fairley out 4-5 weeks (Mon Oct 27, 06:41 PM) - Detroit Lions DT Nick Fairley (knee) injured his medial collateral ligament and posterior cruciate ligament in Week 8, according to a source.

Our View: The team now turns to C.J. Mosley and Caraun Reid as options on the defensive line next to Ndamukong Suh. The team hopes he will be able to return in four or five weeks. This is a more optimistic outlook than was first feared. Fairley should be able to return for a postseason run.

Lions | Jim Caldwell not optimistic about Nick Fairley (Mon Oct 27, 04:05 AM) - Detroit Lions DT Nick Fairley (knee) suffered a knee injury during the team's 22-21 win over the Atlanta Falcons, and coach Jim Caldwell is not optimistic about his status. 'I'm not quite certain where he is right now,' Caldwell said after the game. 'But obviously, when you're carried off the field, it's not the greatest news. We'll see what the doctors say about him.' Caldwell did not speculate if he thought the injury could be season-ending.

Lions | Nick Fairley exits (Sun Oct 26, 10:39 AM) - Detroit Lions DT Nick Fairley (knee) left the game Sunday, Oct. 26, with a knee injury and will not return.

Our View: The Lions already sent CJ Mosley home this week, so they are seriously undermanned in their defensive line rotation. Look for rookie Caraun Reid to get a tonne of snaps today.
