Recent Game Summaries

2015 Week 17 vs WAS (33 / 48 / 435 / 3 / 2 pass, 1 / 0 / 0 rush)

The final stat line looks impressive for Moore eclipsing 400 yards and adding three touchdowns, however, the game was never in question against Washington. Moore logged plenty of production on underneath routes in the second half, trailing by multiple scores. Moore had glaring first half mistakes, only fueling Washington's offense bolting out to a big lead. Moore airmailed Jason Witten on a third down pass over the middle, resulting in an easy interception. Moore also fumbled a snap under center, staking Washington in scoring range again. Down the stretch Moore made a handful of better throws than in previous weeks, including hitting Terrance Williams between defenders for a chunk gain. Overall, Moore has shown an NFL backup baseline level of ability going forward.

2015 Week 16 vs BUF (13 / 31 / 186 / 0 / 1 pass, 1 / -1 / 0 rush)

Without the friendly confines of a dome, Moore's arm strength limitations were more pronounced this week in Buffalo. Moore was most effective early in the game, finding a balance between deep arcing throws to Brice Butler down the sideline and open receivers underneath coverage. Dallas did not find the end zone in the game and Moore contributed to the offensive struggles missing a wide open Butler for a long touchdown. Moore threw the ball over the wrong shoulder, making Butler adjust to the poorly-thrown pass. Moore's interception came on another inaccurate throw, this time behind Butler on a slant route. The ball was tipped into the air for the interception. While Butler and Terrance Williams made plays for Moore, there were too many misguided soft tosses to put much pressure on Buffalo's defense, especially after the opening drives of the road loss.

2015 Week 15 vs NYJ (15 / 25 / 158 / 1 / 3 pass, 0 / 0 / 0 rush)

Moore saw his first regular season action under center in the NFL. Matt Cassel struggled through one-and-a-half quarters prompting Dallas to make a move as the game was close with the Jets. Moore's positive traits included exhibiting some accuracy and quality progressions through his reads. Like Cassel, however, Moore's arm strength limitations were pronounced on a few impactful plays. Moore led Dallas' lone touchdown drive of the game, through those smart decisions and accuracy. Moore also threaded the needle on a third down slant route to Cole Beasley, then again to Beasley on a fourth down late in the game. Moore's ugly moments were on par to Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel this season. Moore threw the ball up for grabs on multiple occasions. Once Dez Bryant was well-covered near the back line of the end zone and Moore threw into the crowd for an interception. Moore also floated the ball over the middle for another interception to a roaming safety. Finally, with the game still within reach, Moore had a desperation heave into a triple-covered Bryant resulting in a tipped ball and a game-ending interception.
