Footballguys view: The Dolphins are going to go with Matt Moore as the primary backup to Jay Cutler. Doughty should have practice squad eligibility and Fales was just a camp arm. |

Dolphins | Four players sign with Dolphins Tue Jan 10, 07:33 PM
The Miami Dolphins re-signed RB Storm Johnson and QB Brandon Doughty and signed free-agents RB Senorise Perry (Bears) and TE Chris Pantale (Eagles) to Reserve/Future contracts Tuesday, Jan. 10.
Footballguys view: A seventh-round pick this year for the Dolphins, Doughty is an interesting developmental quarterback. He's smart and accurate when given time to throw. Doughty doesn't have a plus-arm, but he throws with great anticipation and understands complex defenses. |

Dolphins | Miami signs Storm Johnson Tue Nov 8, 06:59 PM
Free-agent RB Storm Johnson (Buccaneers) signed with the Miami Dolphins' practice squad Tuesday, Nov. 8.
Footballguys view: Johnson has bounced around the league during his short pro career, but he's a decent all-purpose back. He was coached at UCF by current Dolphins RB Coach Danny Barrett. That's probably not a coincidence. |

Falcons | Storm Johnson worked out for Atlanta Tue Oct 25, 08:27 PM
Free-agent RB Storm Johnson (Buccaneers) worked out for the Atlanta Falcons Tuesday, Oct. 25.
Footballguys view: The Falcons are just updating their emergency list. Tevin Coleman is down with a hamstring injury, so they'll be looking for depth behind starter Devonta Freeman. They activated Terron Ward off their practice squad on Tuesday. |

Free-agent RB Storm Johnson (Buccaneers) worked out for the Green Bay Packers on Tuesday, Sept. 13.

Buccaneers | Tampa Bay makes roster moves Sun Aug 28, 01:25 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Andre Davis, RB Storm Johnson and TE Tevin Westbrook were waived Sunday, Aug. 28.

Buccaneers | Storm Johnson ready to silence doubters Sun Jun 5, 11:37 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Storm Johnson said he isn't taking his opportunity with the Buccaneers lightly, and he said being cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars has only fueled his fire for the game.
Footballguys view: Johnson is fired up, but fantasy owners can look elsewhere for sleeper RBs this year. He's a jack-of-all-trades RB, and he can be effectively used as a runner or receiver out of the backfield. However, Johnson lacks the juice/explosion/electricity needed to be dangerous in those areas of his game. He'll compete with guys like Mike James and rookie Peyton Barber for the RB3 spot behind Doug Martin and Charles Sims. |

Buccaneers | Storm Johnson signs with Bucs Mon Apr 25, 05:10 PM
Free-agent RB Storm Johnson (Jaguars) signed an undisclosed deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Monday, April 25.
Footballguys view: Johnson did next to nothing during his time with the Jags. He's a below average all-purpose back who may not be able to make the final roster with the Bucs. |

Jaguars | Storm Johnson placed on NFI list Wed Jul 29, 02:03 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Storm Johnson (undisclosed) was placed on the Non-Football Injury list Wednesday, July 29.
Footballguys view: Johnson needs to get healthy and get on the practice field. He's on the roster bubble this year after the Jaguars added talent like T.J. Yeldon to the backfield. Johnson is trying to stick around as a reserve runner. |

Jaguars | Storm Johnson exits early Wed Jun 17, 11:56 AM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Storm Johnson (back) left practice Wednesday, June 17, with back tightness.
Footballguys view: This back injury is not going to help Johnson make the final roster. He needs to get healthy and shine in training camp, or the team could move on from the former UCF standout. |
Storm Johnson player page
Jaguars | Storm Johnson may not make team Tue Jun 16, 08:51 AM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Storm Johnson (back) seems unlikely to make the team out of training camp. He was singled out by head coach Gus Bradley for uneven practice play and hasn't practiced since June 4 due to a back injury.
Footballguys view: It's called "Not For Long" for a reason. Johnson was a college teammate of Jaguars QB Blake Bortles, and he's a decent all-around back who can work effectively as a receiver out of the backfield. However, guys like Johnson are a dime a dozen in the pros. The Jaguars could easily move on if Johnson doesn't get healthy and impress. |

Jaguars | Bernard Pierce could face suspension Fri Mar 20, 01:27 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Bernard Pierce will face a suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy with his DUI arrest this week. Pierce will be given a chance to compete for playing time with RBs Toby Gerhart, Denard Robinson and Storm Johnson in 2015. Pierce has struggled in the NFL since his rookie season in 2012, and he's mainly been hampered by a list of injuries including back, ankle, knee, shoulder, thigh, toe and head ailments.
Footballguys view: Pierce has a chance to be part of a three-man rotation, especially if the Jaguars use Gerhart more as an H-back. |

Jaguars | Storm Johnson to get bigger role Sun Dec 14, 06:53 AM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Storm Johnson will get a bigger role in the team's offense now that RB Denard Robinson (foot) will miss the remainder of the season. "I think it's been based on the last couple weeks of practice. That's what I've been talking to him about. It wasn't because of injury that you're getting this opportunity. We were talking to him about it anyway. He's earned it," coach Gus Bradley said.

Jaguars | Jaguars will use three RBs Wed Dec 10, 05:06 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars RBs Toby Gerhart, Jordan Todman and Storm Johnson will all receive playing time since RB Denard Robinson (foot) is out for the season, according to head coach Gus Bradley.
Footballguys view: No fantasy owner should be rushing out to get Gerhart (or any of these guys) into the lineup. We like Johnson's ability the best out of these three. The rookie from UCF has a good all-purpose skill set, and he can be used effectively as a runner or receiver out of the backfield. |

Jaguars | Storm Johnson was on snap count Tue Oct 14, 01:29 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Storm Johnson was on a snap count in Week 6 in his first career start. He carried just 10 times, and head coach Gus Bradley said that's exactly what the team had planned for him. Johnson had 21 yards on the ground and also scored a touchdown. "His toughness and things like that were there," Bradley said. "But, there's a couple of areas and just his overall reads and where we actually want the play to hit. He hit it more front side where he could bring it backside, so things like that."
Footballguys view: Fantasy owners are hoping to see that snap count rise in the near future. However, Toby Gerhart should be returning soon from his foot injury, and he may get first crack at the starter's workload. We'd avoid this situation, but it bears monitoring in deeper leagues. |

Jaguars | Bigger role for Storm Johnson? Thu Oct 9, 09:38 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Storm Johnson (ankle) will likely have a chance to prove he deserves more playing going forward, according to head coach Gus Bradley.
Footballguys view: Fantasy owners need to keep an eye on this situation. Johnson is a good all-purpose running back, and he has strong chemistry with QB Blake Bortles dating back to their days together as college teammates at UCF. |

Jaguars | Storm Johnson practicing in full Thu Oct 9, 04:23 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Storm Johnson (ankle) practiced in full for the second straight day Thursday, Oct. 9.
Footballguys view: The Jaguars are going to use a RBBC, and Johnson is a good all-purpose back. His touches may be limited, but watch to see if his role can grow. We like his chemistry with QB Blake Bortles (college teammates at UCF), and Johnson has played well in limited duty so far this year. |

Jaguars | Storm Johnson a full go Wed Oct 8, 06:14 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Storm Johnson (ankle) practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Footballguys view: Good news for the Jaguars here. Johnson may be in line for some more snaps as the season goes on. Toby Gerhart is banged up, and he's ineffective even when he's healthy. We like Johnson's all-purpose skill set as both a runner and receiver out of the backfield. |
Jaguars | Committee approach for Jags backfield Wed Oct 8, 04:36 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars RBs Toby Gerhart, Denard Robinson, Jordan Todman and Storm Johnson have all shared carries in the backfield. The team ranks 31st in the league in rushing, averaging just 67 yards per game. Johnson is the wild card in the backfield, as he ran four times for a team-high 27 yards in his debut in Week 5. "It's not surprising to me," head coach Gus Bradley said. "I mentioned two weeks ago he had a good practice. Last week he had a good week, and it's that trust and he's building trust. For him to go in there and perform and really capture his opportunity was pretty cool to see. ... The runs he had were very impressive."
Footballguys view: Johnson is the player to watch here. He's a good runner and decent receiver out of the backfield. Redraft fantasy owners should not be invested in the Jags backfield, but dynasty owners should scoop up Johnson whenever possible. |

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Storm Johnson saw his first action of the season in Week 5 and is expected to see an increased role in the offense going forward.
Footballguys view: We like Johnson's all-purpose game. He's a good runner with the ability to quickly and decisively pick up yards between the tackles. Johnson is also a good receiver out of the backfield who is tough to bring down when he builds a head of steam. |
