Jordan Todman's strong performance as a kick returner in 2013 held off Denard Robinson amongst others. Now he just needs to start finding the end zone.

Jordan Todman looks to be the backup running back to Toby Gerhart entering the season. He played in all 16 games for the Jaguars in 2013 and had his most productive day against the Bills in week 15 where he carried the ball 25 times for 109 yards and added 4 receptions for 44 yards. (May 13)

Jaguars | Toby Gerhart is lead dog (Tue Aug 12, 08:05 PM) - Jacksonville Jaguars RB Toby Gerhart (hip) is the 'lead dog' in the ground game, according to offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch. RBs Storm Johnson, Denard Robinson and Jordan Todman are also battling for carries. Gerhart is a candidate to lead the conference in carries, but there are questions about his ability since he has just 86 attempts over the past two seasons.

Our View: Gerhart looked good in limited duty during his time as the primary backup behind Adrian Peterson. Jacksonville could feature him early and often in 2014. Gerhart is a strong back between the tackles, plus he's a good receiver out of the backfield. His current ADP is RB20 (4.07) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Jaguars | Committee at RB coming? (Mon Aug 11, 05:05 PM) - Jacksonville Jaguars RB Toby Gerhart could be part of a running-back-by-committee approach this season with Gerhart getting around 15 carries a game, in the opinion of's Alex Marvez.

Our View: This opinion contradicts what we've heard earlier about Gerhart being the bellcow for the offense. Behind Gerhart, the Jaguars have guys like Jordan Todman, Denard Robinson and Storm Johnson. Todman and Robinson are mostly speed backs who can make plays in the open field. Johnson is a good all-purpose rookie with dynasty league potential. Watch to see if more clues are assembled during the rest of the preseason.
