Cardinals | Three players sign Reserve/Futures deals    Tue Jan 26, 03:20 PM

Arizona Cardinals RBs Marion Grice and Robert Hughes and WR Jaxon Shipley signed Reserve/Futures contracts Tuesday, Jan. 26.

Footballguys view: Grice is the most interesting player here in super deep dynasty leagues. He's a powerful runner who makes his living between the tackles. Hughes, an undrafted free agent (2011) out of Notre Dame, has bounced around to several teams in his short career but he's been with the Cardinals since 2013.

Lions | Marion Grice coming to Detroit    Tue Oct 20, 12:17 PM

Free-agent RB Marion Grice (Cardinals) will sign with the Detroit Lions' practice squad.

Footballguys view: Grice has the size to bang it between the tackles, and he's a decent receiver out of the backfield. The Lions had to IR rookie Zach Zenner this week, so they're looking for help at the position.

Cardinals | Arizona makes roster cuts    Sat Sep 5, 07:18 PM

Arizona Cardinals QB Phillip Sims, QB Logan Thomas, RB Paul Lasike, RB Kerwynn Williams, WR Trevor Harman and WR Jaxon Shipley were cut Saturday, Sept. 5. RB Marion Grice (shoulder) was waived-injured.

Footballguys view: Thomas's fate was sealed once Matt Barkley was acquired. Maybe he'll follow in Terrelle Pryor's footsteps and try to convert to being a position player. Thomas's size and athleticism would make him an intriguing tight end prospect.

Cardinals | Marion Grice could start Sunday    Tue Dec 2, 09:33 AM

Arizona Cardinals RB Marion Grice will likely start if RB Andre Ellington (hip) can't go Sunday, Dec. 7, in Week 14. RBs Stepfan Taylor and Robert Hughes would also be in the mix.

Footballguys view: Grice is a no-nonsense rookie back from Arizona State. Coming out of college, Grice was known as a speed back with exceptional quickness. He has good vision and the footwork to make defenders miss in the open field. Grice is not much of a banger, and he'll struggle to run through arm tackles. In Week 14, Arizona faces a Kansas City Chiefs team that surrendered over 200 yards rushing to the Denver Broncos last week.

The Arizona Cardinals have declared RB Marion Grice, LB Desmond Bishop, LB Thomas Keiser, LB Glenn Carson, DT Bruce Gaston, TE Troy Niklas, DE Calais Campbell inactive for Week 6.

Footballguys view: Campbell is maybe the key player of the Cardinals defense. The Washington offense has a head start but even good teams tend to have trouble moving the ball in Arizona.

The Arizona Cardinals have declared LB Desmond Bishop, LB Glenn Carson, TE Darren Fells, NT Bruce Gaston, RB Marion Grice, LB Thomas Keiser, QB Carson Palmer inactive for Week 5.

Footballguys view: Grice was thought to possibly have a shot to play a role coming out of the bye after being signed away from the Chargers practice squad, but he'll just be season-long depth for now.

Cardinals | Marion Grice signed    Tue Sep 23, 06:17 AM

The Arizona Cardinals signed RB Marion Grice to a two-year contract Monday, Sept. 22, financial terms of which were not disclosed. Grice had been on the San Diego Chargers' practice squad.

Footballguys view: Just when the Chargers could use help in the backfield, the Cardinals snipe Grice away. He's a versatile rookie who can contribute as a runner and receiver out of the backfield.

The San Diego Chargers have signed free-agent DT Ricardo Mathews (Texans). Terms of the contract were not disclosed. The team also waived RB Marion Grice.

Footballguys view: Grice is an interesting rookie running back to monitor in super deep dynasty leagues. However, from what we've seen so far in the preseason and gathered from camp reports, Grice needs a lot of work.

San Diego Chargers RB Branden Oliver had seven carries for 64 yards, including a 27-yard touchdown run, in the first half of the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 7. Michael Gehlken of The San Diego Union-Tribune believes Oliver's strong performance could put RB Marion Grice in jeopardy of missing the roster.

Chargers | Several players excel in practice    Wed Jun 18, 08:01 PM

San Diego Chargers RB Marion Grice caught passes and made it look easy Wednesday, June 18. WR Keenan Allen ran pretty double-move routes. DE Corey Liuget and LB Manti Te'o breezed through conditioning drills after practice.

Footballguys view: Grice is a good pass catcher and could make the team as a strong fourth running back who can fill some of the role of each of the three vets in front of him in a pinch and contribute as a kick returner.

San Diego Chargers WRs Eddie Royal, Keenan Allen Tevin Reese, Brelan Chancellor, Javontee Herndon and RB Marion Grice will compete to return kickoffs and punts.

Footballguys view: We may not see many carries for Grice this year, but we want to see his athleticism on the field as a return man.

Chargers | Marion Grice misses practice    Sat May 17, 12:51 PM

San Diego Chargers RB Marion Grice (foot) did not participate in practice Friday, May 16, because of a foot injury.

Footballguys view: Grice was a curious pick by the Chargers. The team added Donald Brown in free agency, and they already have Ryan Mathews and Danny Woodhead on the roster. Grice will have an almost "redshirt" season as the fourth back on the depth chart.

Chargers | Sign three draft picks    Wed May 14, 03:59 PM

The San Diego Chargers signed DT Ryan Carrethers, RB Marion Grice and WR Tevin Reese Wednesday, May 14. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Grice is an interesting name to remember in dynasty leagues if Ryan Mathews' injury woes return this year. Mathews is a free agent next year and Grice is an underrated runner who could impress if he gets his foot in the door. Reese will add a vertical element to the Chargers offense, but he is rail thin and probably can't hang as an outside receiver.
