Recent Game Summaries

2016 Week 17 vs TEN (11 / 28 / 0 rush, 4 / 3 / 12 / 0 rec)

Alfred Blue received touches but there was not much to go along with it. Only rushing for 28 yards and catching 3 passes for 12 yards, it was a disappointing day for Blue. Much of that was on the offensive line getting beat and shuffling lineman in and out to get them work.

2016 Week 16 vs CIN (21 / 73 / 1 rush, 4 / 4 / 17 / 0 rec)

Alfred Blue took over the running game and like spot starts he has had over his career, he wears on a defense. Blue plugged away and had his normal 3 to 4 yard gains and rarely has a negative run. His big run came on a 24 yard run that ended up in the end zone to give the Texans the lead. Blue had some nice blocking and got a key block from DeAndre Hopkins to get him into the second level to run away from defenders. Blue remains a solid back for the Texans when he gets the opportunities and he continued to show why in a spot start.

2016 Week 14 vs IND (16 / 55 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 0 / 0 rec)

Texans turned to Alfred Blue to get the offense going and even though his longest run was 7 yards, he continued to plug away on the ground. He did have a fumble but that was saved by a review that was inconclusive even though his teammate did recover the ball. Blue is used inside the tackles and it is tough for break away runs but his 16 carries were a season high. With Miller's injury issues, Blue will continue to get work on the field.

2016 Week 13 vs GB (5 / 38 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 3 / 0 rec)

After missing the past two games with a calf injury, Alfred Blue made his return. Blue had four carries with his longest coming on a 25 yard scamper around the corner with Xavier Su'a-Filo leading the way on the play. He had a bailout reception for Osweiler for -9 yards but he did have a 12 yard reception late in the 4th quarter to help set up a score for Hopkins long touchdown reception.

2016 Week 10 vs JAX (7 / 23 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Much like Lamar Miller, Alfred Blue's rib situation is not helping his cause either. Blue's longest run of the day was 12 yards and that was on a drive when the Texans offensive line was mashing up front. Blue is the Texans best rusher inside the tackles and showed it once again this game. Blue is always falling forward but outside that 12 yard run and rib issue, his day was uneventful. Just like Miller, Blue had no pass attempts throw his way.

2016 Week 8 vs DET (9 / 41 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Blue continues to make plays and he is running hard and making defenders feel it with each run. His best run came on a 19 yard dash where he stiff armed a defender and hurdled one late in the run. He also had a 12 yard run wiped out due to a holding call but Blue is eating up yards on the ground. With Miller banged up, Blue is putting together some solid work for the offense moving the chains.

2016 Week 7 vs DEN (11 / 63 / 0 rush, 3 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

With Lamar Miller on the sideline, Alfred Blue took over and had a really strong day. His longest run was 17 yards and has having much success between the tackles. Blue started to get more looks as the game went on and had runs of 9 and small ones of 4 and 3. With the Texans driving late, Blue had a costly fumble late in the 3rd quarter which sealed the Texans fate. Blue has a much better understanding of the Texans offense and it showed, but his fumble ruined what would have been a solid day.
