Jaguars | Calvin Pryor cut    Sat Dec 2, 11:44 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars S Calvin Pryor was waived Saturday, Dec. 2. DE Carroll Phillips was promoted from the practice squad in a corresponding move.

Footballguys view: The former first-round pick just isn't sticking anywhere since the Jets gave up on him. He's a downhill in the box safety who can be exposed in pass coverage.

Jaguars | Jacksonville makes roster moves    Sat Nov 18, 11:35 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Larry Pinkard was promoted from the practice squad Saturday, Nov. 18. The team also activated S Calvin Pryor and WR Dede Westbrook from the Reserve/Injured list. In corresponding move, the Jaguars waived DT Sheldon Day and WR Jaelen Strong and placed Arrelious Benn (knee) on the Reserve/Injured list.

Footballguys view: Undrafted out of Old Dominion in 2015 (Packers), Pinkard is a speedy WR who can contribute as a return man if need be. Speaking of speedy, Westbrook is a dynamic rookie who can toy with defenders matched up against him. With Allen Hurns (ankle) banged up, Westbrook could split time with Keelan Cole opposite Marqise Lee.

Jaguars | Friday injury report for Jacksonville    Fri Sep 15, 03:14 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars S Calvin Pryor (ankle) did not practice Friday, Sept. 15, and has been ruled out for Week 2. CB Jalen Ramsey (ankle) also did not participate in practice Friday and has been listed as questionable. OL Brandon Linder (knee) remained limited practice, while QB Blake Bortles (wrist), A.J. Bouye (illness), DT Abry Jones (knee) and RB T.J. Yeldon (hamstring) participated fully in practice and were removed from the report.

Footballguys view: Ramsey could play, but there's no guarantee he'll be nearly as effective in what could be a good development for the Titans passing game - although they will still face a stiff test at Jacksonville.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have declared LB Blair Brown, SS Calvin Pryor, CB Jalen Myrick, OG Josh Walker, DT Michael Z. Bennett, RB T.J. Yeldon, OT William Poehls inactive for Week 1.

Footballguys view: Corey Grant could get more work with Yeldon out. The team is taking it slow with his recovery because they have the depth at running back to allow him to sit without hurting the offense.

Jaguars | Jacksonville claims Calvin Pryor    Fri Sep 8, 05:18 PM

Free-agent SS Calvin Pryor (Browns) was claimed off waivers by the Jacksonville Jaguars Friday, Sept. 8.

Browns | Calvin Pryor headed to Browns    Thu Jun 1, 08:49 AM

New York Jets SS Calvin Pryor is part of a trade Thursday, June 1, to the Cleveland Browns for an undisclosed package, according to sources.

Footballguys view: They finally got rid of Pryor, who has been something of a disappointment but who fit better in defensive coordinator Gregg Williams' defense than what the Jets ran. New York gets linebacker Demario Davis, a former Jet who signed with Cleveland last offseason.

Jets | Calvin Pryor back at practice    Wed May 24, 02:28 PM

New York Jets SS Calvin Pryor was on the field for organized team activities Wednesday, May 24, after he skipped the workout Tuesday, May 23.

Footballguys view: Pryor is back with the team, but for how long remains a mystery. The Jets didn't pick up his fifth-year option, then they selected two safeties in the first two rounds of the 2017 NFL draft. Pryor is on the books for $1.6 million this year and all of that is fully guaranteed.

Jets | Calvin Pryor could be on bubble    Sun May 21, 04:36 PM

New York Jets SS Calvin Pryor could be released before the 2017 season if FS Rontez Miles outperforms him during training camp, in the opinion of NJ.com's Connor Hughes.

Footballguys view: Zero surprise here with the selection of SS Jamal Adams (1st round) and S Marcus Maye (2nd round) in the 2017 NFL draft. Pryor's fifth-year option wasn't picked up this year, so he's set to be a free agent in 2018. He's no lock for the 53-man roster.

Jets | Calvin Pryor's option won't be picked up    Tue May 2, 08:31 AM

New York Jets S Calvin Pryor won't have his fifth-year option picked up for 2018, according to sources.

Footballguys view: Not a surprise here...especially considering the Jets added two safeties in the first two rounds of the 2017 NFL draft. There has been buzz about the Jets wanting to trade Pryor, but he's been a colossal bust and is unlikely to generate much (if any) interest.

Jets | Calvin Pryor available    Fri Apr 28, 05:07 PM

Seahawks | Seattle looking at Calvin Pryor?    Sat Jan 28, 08:31 PM

New York Jets SS Calvin Pryor is expected to be on the trading block this offseason, and a league source believes the Seattle Seahawks could offer OT Germain Ifedi in exchange for Pryor.

Footballguys view: A first-round pick in 2014, Pryor is known as a big hitter but he's a liability in coverage. His aggressive playing style could fit in well with the Legion of Boom.
