Harris has been a 10-year starter in the middle of the Jets defense, but at 33 years of age it's probably time for the Jets to start looking for a replacement. With 1 year left on his current contract, many expect this will be his last year with the team. His level of play and production have seen some declines of late, but he is still a reliable veteran who can give you something close to the league average. That, along with his leadership and experience, should be enough to keep him in a 3-down role despite the offseason trade to bring back Demario Davis. (June 5)

Patriots | David Harris likely to make team (Fri Jun 23, 10:12 AM) - New England Patriots LB David Harris is a near lock to make the 53-man roster.

Our View: With $1.25 million in guaranteed money, Harris is a near lock for the final roster. Not a shock given his veteran experience and ability to still be a two-down run-stuffer. Harris should play on early downs, leaving LB Shea McLellin for sub-package situations.

Patriots | David Harris agrees with Patriots (Wed Jun 21, 10:23 AM) - Free-agent LB David Harris (Jets) agreed to a two-year deal with the New England Patriots Wednesday, June 21, according to a source.

Our View: Harris is a two-down thumper who can stuff the run. He's not the same player he used to be, but Harris can still be an effective pro. Harris will compete for playing time in a crowded linebacker group behind Donta Hightower.
