Footballguys view: Ngata is getting up there, but he's got one year left on his contract and he can still be a solid run-defender for the Lions. In 2017, Ngata has a cap hit of $7.75 million, but the Lions could save a little over $5.7 million if they let him go. Perhaps a re-negotiated deal will keep him on the team. |

DE Ziggy Ansah (ankle), FS Don Carey (ribs), DT A'Shawn Robinson (shoulder), OG Laken Tomlinson (neck) and OG Larry Warford (hip) are listed as questionable. Levy, Ngata and Warford did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 14. Ansah, Robinson and Tomlinson were limited, while Carey fully participated in practice.
Footballguys view: Ansah should return to the lineup this week, but the Lions will swap him out with Ngata, a force in the middle of the defensive line that will be missed going up against Todd Gurley and the Rams running game. |
