It was his sixth surgery since being diagnosed with MRSA two weeks ago, and he remains in a New York City hospital while he receives antibiotics. Giants | May use committee at TE Mon Aug 25, 05:21 PM
The New York Giants may use a committee approach with their tight ends this season based on different situations, according to head coach Tom Coughlin. 'I really think that there'll be a group of guys that'll play that'll help us in different situations and will be matched up according to the circumstance,' Coughlin said. 'I think that's where it's going to go. I think there's a lot of roles for that spot.' TEs Larry Donnell, Adrien Robinson, Daniel Fells and Kellen Davis are expected to make the final roster, but no starter has been named.

Giants | Daniel Fells could start Fri Aug 22, 02:26 PM
New York Giants TE Daniel Fells could win the team's starting job with a strong showing in their preseason game Friday, Aug. 22, in the opinion of Jordan Raanan of the Star Ledger.
Footballguys view: That's great and all, but fantasy owners shouldn't care. There's no fantasy relevant tight end on the Giants roster. We're intrigued by the new Ben McAdoo system, but there's plenty of better late-round fantasy tight ends to choose from. |

Giants | Larry Donnell leading TE pack Mon Aug 11, 11:31 AM
New York Giants TE Larry Donnell is leading the positional race so far, according to Dan Graziano, who said Donnell has the surest hands of the group. Daniel Fells' (knee) injury has helped Donnell's cause. He's a good downfield blocker but needs to improve his run blocking at the point of the attack, Graziano said.
Footballguys view: The bottom line here is that there is likely no fantasy value coming from the Giants TE position. Adrien Robinson has the athletic ability to present upside, but he is struggling to move up a very weak depth chart. |

Giants | Daniel Fells may have the edge Thu Jul 24, 09:34 AM
New York Giants TE Daniel Fells has received the first snap in 11-on-11 drills during the team's two days in training camp.
Footballguys view: The Giants tight end situation is a mess, with no proven pass catchers in the bunch. This means more three-wide sets, which could make #12 overall pick Odell Beckham or 2013 late-season star Jerrel Jernigan candidates to see the field a lot this year. "JPP of tight ends" Adrien Robinson is the only name worth watching in this position battle, but the chances that this situation produces a fantasy relevant TE are very low. |

New York Giants TEs Kellen Davis, Larry Donnell, Daniel Fells and Xavier Grimble are all expected to receive time with the first-team offense during offseason workouts and training camp. TE Adrien Robinson is believed to be the leading candidate for the starting tight end job at this point.
Footballguys view: The Giants have to find a tight end for Eli Manning. The team hasn't been the same at the position since Martellus Bennett moved on in free agency.
