Recent Game Summaries

2014 Week 6 vs PHI (5 / 24 / 0 rush, 5 / 3 / 28 / 0 rec)

Peyton Hillis was given the ball only to spell teammate Williams and didn't have any more success on the ground. The Giants running back depth is poor currently and Hillis' is not going to bring a spark or improve their rushing attack at this stage in his career. He was able to pick up some first downs late in the second half but the game was out of reach at that point and the Eagles were not playing as tough. Hillis will continue to backup Williams on the ground but is nowhere close to a fantasy startable back.

2014 Week 7 vs DAL (6 / 29 / 0 rush, 3 / 1 / 4 / 0 rec)

Hillis saw work as the passing down and hurry-up offense back over the reception-deficient Andre Williams. None of Hillis' touches came in meaningful situations and he even threw in a dropped pass on a dump-off target for good measure. Hillis is a contributor only until the superior Rashad Jennings is back in the lineup.

Latest News

Giants | Peyton Hillis favored on passing downs (Thu Oct 16, 02:18 PM) - New York Giants RB Peyton Hillis played 31 snaps in the team's Week 6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles because the coaching staff doesn't yet trust RB Andre Williams on passing downs. Williams and Hillis are expected to share the workload in the backfield without RB Rashad Jennings (knee) again in Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Our View: Williams is not a good pass blocker and that's all there is to it. That's why the team missed Rashad Jennings so much—he allows them to have more versatility. We still see Williams as a decent RB2 as he'll get most of the carries, but if the Cowboys get an early lead and the Giants have to throw, Williams will be on the sideline anytime the team needs to pass and that will limit his upside.

Giants | Rashad Jennings ruled out (Wed Oct 15, 01:44 PM) - New York Giants RB Rashad Jennings (knee) will definitely not play in Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys, according to head coach Tom Coughlin. Jennings sprained the medial collateral ligament in his knee in Week 5. The team is hoping he can return after their bye week.

Our View: Most reporters have speculated that Jennings would return after the team's Week 8 bye. Rookie Andre Williams and veteran Peyton Hillis will be relied on again, and Hillis could see additional snaps if QB Eli Manning is under heavy pressure.
