Week 12: at Cincinnati Bengals

All WR vs CIN

FBG says: Bad matchup. There really isn't any way to say it other than DeShone Kizer is an absolute mess. The Browns passing game with a combination of DeShone Kizer and Cody Kessler over the last three weeks have been sacked 12 times, thrown three interceptions, and fumbled the ball three times of which they lost two of those. The good news for the Browns is that they got Corey Coleman back this past week and appear to be utilizing him heavily as he had 11 targets this past week and is the lone receiver on this Browns team that has above replacement level talent. The Bengals secondary has been one of the best defenses against the pass in the league as they are only averaging 200.6 yards per game which is the sixth best in football. Over the last four weeks, however, they are 15th in fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks and have faced Brock Osweiler, Marcus Mariota, and Blake Bortles, so while this is a good unit, it is not an elite unit as they are decimated with injuries. The Bengals are without one of their best corners Adam Jones as he is still dealing with a concussion and appears unlikely to play this week. The good news for the Bengals is that their pass rush should have a field day against this Browns passing game as the Bengals are fourth in the NFL in terms of sacks and the Browns are fourth in sacks allowed this season.

Recent Game Summaries

2017 Week 7 vs TEN (3 / 1 / 11 / 0 rec)

Higgins had a notable day in that he drew two straight targets near the Tennessee end zone during the second quarter. The first pass was too far out of bounds for Higgins to make the grab. The second one was thrown way too high and resulted in the first of three Titans interceptions in the game.

2017 Week 3 vs IND (6 / 2 / 10 / 0 rec)

Higgins came back to earth after a huge game in Week 2. His first target was batted at the line of scrimmage and he dropped his second target of the game right near the first down marker on a third down. He did get free down the middle of the field in the second quarter but quarterback DeShone Kizer overthrew him. That play would have gone for a long gain had they connected. In the third quarter, Higgins dropped another pass and, to make matters worse, had offensive pass interference called on him.

2017 Week 2 vs BAL (11 / 7 / 95 / 0 rec, 1 / 4 / 0 rush)

Higgins had a career day against the Ravens after being elevated from the practice squad earlier in the week. In the first quarter, he made a great diving catch for a 35-yard gain. He had another shot at a big gain in the second quarter but was unable to hold onto the ball. Higgins and reserve quarterback Kevin Hogan displayed good chemistry, with many of his catches coming in the quarter or so that Hogan was in the game.
