Week 4: vs Seattle Seahawks
All TE vs SEA
Mark and Joe say: Bad matchup. Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 20-of-44 passes for 188 yards, zero touchdowns, and a whopping six interceptions in the Jets' Week 3 loss to the Chiefs. It is the most interceptions thrown during a NFL game since Ty Detmer tossed seven back in 2001. 'The trust is the same,' head coach Todd Bowles said Sunday, September 25 after the game. 'He had a bad day at the office. Last week, he had a great day at the office.' Fitzpatrick was an epic fail in last week's game at Kansas City. It didn't help that Brandon Marshall was somewhat limited by a sore knee (10 targets but just 3/27/0 receiving), but this loss is mostly on Fitzpatrick. He was awesome two games ago (24/34 for 374 yards passing, one TD and zero interceptions thrown, and just one sack taken for -4 yards, at Buffalo), but this game he simply crumbled in front of the rabid Kansas City crowd.
The Seahawks rebounded from their 3-9 loss to Los Angeles and beat San Francisco 37-18 last weekend, holding Blaine Gabbert to a miniscule 14/25 for 119 yards passing, zero TDs and one interception thrown, with zero sacks generated. Seattle has allowed zero TD passes this year, vs. one interception and eight sacks generated. Over the first three weeks of the season, Seattle has averaged 12.2 fantasy points allowed per game to opposing quarterbacks (second-least in the NFL); and 11.1 fantasy points per game allowed to wide receivers (least in the NFL); with 3.2 fantasy points given up per game to tight ends (seventh-least). This is an elite pass defense, friends.
The Jets shouldn't expect to bounce back against the Seahawks in this game. This is a bad matchup for Fitzpatrick and company.
