Titans | Offense affected by Delanie Walker injury Tue Dec 3, 01:28 PM
Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak said the injury to TE Delanie Walker (concussion) early in Week 13 against the Indianapolis Colts affected the team's passing offense. 'All of a sudden, they can put more attention on Kendall (Wright), on Nate (Washington), on our other receivers, which they couldn't have done before,' Munchak said. TE Taylor Thompson played 72 of 75 offensive snaps as a result with TE Craig Stevens (concussion) also out. The status of Walker and Stevens remains up in the air for Week 14 against the Denver Broncos, and they'll have to pass the concussion tests in order to play this weekend.
Footballguys view: Thompson is a converted DE who is an interesting prospect to watch in super deep dynasty leagues. The Broncos historically struggle to cover TEs so it will be interesting to see how they match up on Sunday. |

Titans | Taylor Thompson hopeful for Saturday Sun Aug 11, 11:27 PM
Tennessee Titans TE Taylor Thompson (shoulder) was unable to practice Sunday, Aug. 11, as he nurses a sprained AC joint in his shoulder. However, he is hopeful of playing in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 17, against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Footballguys view: Thompson needs to get healthy and gain more experience on the football field. He was a defensive end in college at SMU but transitioned to tight end at the 2012 Players All Star Classic in Little Rock, AR. The Titans liked him enough to take a chance on him in the fifth-round of the 2012 NFL draft. Thompson is big, strong, and athletic enough to create mismatches when he's on the field. He's an interesting player to monitor in dynasty leagues. |

Titans | Taylor Thompson likely will be pushed for roster spot Mon Jul 15, 03:50 PM
Tennessee Titans TE Taylor Thompson likely will enter training camp as the favorite for the No. 3 tight end job but will have to compete with TEs Jack Doyle and Brandon Barden for the job.
Footballguys view: Thompson played DL in college at SMU but was moved to TE for the 2012 Players All Star Classic. He impressed enough at that All Star game to get drafted as a TE by the Titans in the fifth-round of the 2012 NFL draft. Thompson is a physical player who can wrestle away contested catches. He's also athletic enough to create mismatches on the field. We'll see if he can continue to develop his raw skill set. Thompson is an interesting prospect to watch in deep dynasty leagues. |

Titans | Taylor Thompson expected to have bigger role Thu Mar 7, 03:13 PM
Tennessee Titans TE Taylor Thompson is expected to receive a bigger role in the offense this season especially if they do not re-sign impending free-agent TE Jared Cook.
Footballguys view: Thompson was drafted in the fifth-round last year despite never playing TE in college. He switched to TE at the Players All Star Classic and caught the eye of several scouts in attendance. He's big, athletic, and can create mismatches on the field. |

Titans | Taylor Thompson emerging as blocker Tue Nov 13, 10:52 PM
Tennessee Titans TE Taylor Thompson saw more action in Week 10 against the Miami Dolphins than he had in any previous game this season, although he wasn't targeted on a single pass. He has progressed as a run blocker this season, and saw one more snap (24) than fellow TE Jared Cook on offense.
Footballguys view: Thompson never played TE in college at SMU, where he lined up at DE. At the Players All Star Classic scouts wanted to see him play TE because of his size and athleticism. The Titans drafted him as a developmental prospect based on those practices and his natural skill set. Fantasy owners in deep dynasty leagues should have Thompson on their squads. If he continues to develop then perhaps he'll be given a larger role. |

Titans | Have big plans for Taylor Thompson Mon Jul 2, 08:32 AM
Tennessee Titans TE Taylor Thompson was impressive throughout the team's offseason workouts. According to sources, Thompson showed elite athleticism similar to New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski. The Titans believe Thompson could become a dynamic offensive player and be special in the long term if he continues to develop.
Footballguys view: Our very own Cecil Lammey watched Thompson make the transition from DE to TE during the week of practice for the Players All Star Classic earlier this year. He was impressed with Thompson's size, athleticism, and run after the catch ability. Thompson needs to refine his route running, but makes for an interesting prospect to add in deep dynasty leagues because of his upside. |

Titans | Agree to terms with two draft picks Wed May 23, 11:12 AM
The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with fifth-round draft pick TE Taylor Thompson and seventh-round draft pick DE Scott Solomon. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Our very own Cecil Lammey watched Thompson at the Players All Star Classic earlier this year and came away impressed with his size, athleticism, and hands. Thompson played DE at SMU but made the switch to TE for that All Star Game. At the Scouting Combine he had an outstanding performance which skyrocketed his draft stock. He's raw but has good upside. This year he'll compete to be third on the depth chart behind Jared Cook and Craig Stevens. |
