Week 12: at Philadelphia Eagles
Mark and Joe say: Good matchup. Zach Mettenberger posted a nice 15/24 for 263 yards passing, two TDs with zero interceptions effort vs. Pittsburgh last week, and took a 17-10 lead into the locker room at half-time. Though the Steelers eventually prevailed, Tennessee had a positive outing from their young signal caller. Nate Washington got loose for an 80-yard bomb during the game (two targets for 1/80/1), while Kendall Wright (eight targets for 4/70/0 receiving) and Justin Hunter (four for 2/48/0) kept the chains moving last week - Chase Coffman handled the other TD for Mettenberger with four targets for 3/32/1 receiving. The Eagles pass D was beat up in Green Bay last week, allowing 24/38 for 365 yards passing, three TDs and zero interceptions thrown (one sack taken for -2 yards by Aaron Rodgers) - two games ago, Carolina's Cam Newton and company threw down for 25/40 for 215 net yards passing, two TDs and three interceptions thrown, with nine sacks taken for -91 yards during the loss to Philadelphia. Obviously, protecting your passer is a key when Philadelphia is across the line of scrimmage (unfortunately for Mettenberger, the Titans have given up 25 sacks this year, tied for 25th in the NFL). Look for the Eagles to bring the pass rush a lot in this game to try and rattle the young Tennessee quarterback. To date the Eagless are second in the NFL with 33 sacks generated, though they have only seven interceptions this year (22nd in the NFL). Through 10 games the Eagles average 263 net passing yards allowed per game (28th in the NFL) with 22 pass scores given up. If Mettenberger can keep his poise under pressure, he should throw for some decent numbers against this vulnerable secondary. He'll have to dodge some pass rushers to do well.

With Delanie Walker not involved, Coffman got an opportunity to make a reception in the third quarter. He caught a deep crossing route when he was wide open after play action. A few plays later, Coffman caught another pass on an out route against man coverage. It was Chase Coffman drive, as he capped it off with an athletic touchdown reception in the end zone.
