Minnesota Vikings WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette (toe), CB Mackensie Alexander (personal), CB Kris Boyd (hamstring), TE Ben Ellefson (neck) and CB Bashaud Breeland (illness) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 30. TE Tyler Conklin (glute, elbow), RB Dalvin Cook (ankle), LB Anthony Barr (knee), PK Greg Joseph (hip) and DT Michael Pierce (elbow, shoulder) were limited. S Xavier Woods (hamstring), LB Eric Kendricks (hip), CB Harrison Hand (hamstring) and OT Christian Darrisaw (groin) practiced in full. Vikings | Three draft picks reach deals Thu May 13, 09:36 PM
Minnesota Vikings fifth-round draft choice WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette, fifth-round draft choice TE Zach Davidson and sixth-round draft choice DT Jaylen Twyman agreed to terms on four-year contracts with the Vikings Thursday, May 13, according to sources. Financial terms were not disclosed.
| Footballguys view: Smith-Marsette has a nice size/speed combination and can get by defenders with ease. He has "late hands" when passes are incoming, so he doesn't tip off cornerbacks that he's going to make a catch. Smith-Marsette is buried on the depth chart now, but he could develop into a no.3 receiver for the Vikings in the future. Watch him in dynasty formats. |

Iowa WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette has met with or is scheduled to meet virtually with the New Orleans Saints, Los Angeles Rams, New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals, Las Vegas Raiders, Washington Football Team and Buffalo Bills.
| Footballguys view: Smith-Marsette has track speed and it shows up when you watch him play. He has good over-the-shoulder vision, late hands so he doesn't tip off the pass is coming and he does a good job of ripping contested passes away from defenders. Smith-Marsette is likely a mid-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft but he's a steal if he plays up to his potential in the pros and a player we will monitor closely in the NFL. |
