Chiefs | Reggie Ragland sent to Chiefs    Mon Aug 28, 01:14 PM

Buffalo Bills LB Reggie Ragland was acquired by the Kansas City Chiefs Monday, Aug. 28, in exchange for a 2019 fourth-round pick.

Footballguys view: Ragland was a highly thought of second-round pick in 2016, but he was running with the third-string defense at Bills camp. The Chiefs could use him quite a bit in 2017.

Bills | Reggie Ragland could shift outside    Tue Jul 11, 09:41 AM

Buffalo Bills LB Reggie Ragland could shift to outside linebacker if LB Preston Brown wins the starting middle linebacker job.

Footballguys view: A second-round pick out of Alabama in 2016, Ragland was lost for his entire rookie season due to a knee injury. The Bills saw Ragland as a great option as an inside hammer in Rex Ryan's 3-4 defense, but now he's a bit of an odd fit in the 4-3 scheme they're running this year. Ragland had speed concerns that could be exposed in coverage, so he's just a two-down thumper no matter where he lines up in 2017.

Bills | Reggie Ragland not a fit in new defense?    Fri Feb 10, 12:25 PM

Buffalo Bills LB Reggie Ragland, who is still recovering from a torn ACL last summer, may be too big (6-2, 252 pounds) to play inside in new head coach Sean McDermott's defense, as Thomas Davis (6-1, 231) and Shaq Thompson (6-1, 220) both relied on speed and athleticism with the Carolina Panthers. As such, the Buffalo News 'Vic Carucci believes it 'remains to be seen' whether or not he is a good fit in the new scheme.

Footballguys view: The Bills moved up in the second round of the 2016 NFL draft to select Ragland. He's a large-bodied thumper, but he lacks the athleticism to work on the outside as a pass-rusher.

Bills | Reggie Ragland out for season    Wed Aug 10, 09:19 AM

Buffalo Bills LB Reggie Ragland (knee) will have surgery to repair his anterior cruciate ligament and will miss the 2016 season.

Footballguys view: The Bills will be without their first two picks for at least the first month, with first-round pick Shaq Lawson coming back from shoulder surgery. Ragland was going to be a force against the run, so the strong Bills defensive line will have to pick up the slack.

Bills | Reggie Ragland has partial tear of ACL    Sun Aug 7, 09:36 PM

Buffalo Bills LB Reggie Ragland (knee) has a partially torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, according to an initial MRI. He will have a second opinion on the injury Monday, Aug. 8.

Footballguys view: The Bills signing two inside linebackers today makes even more sense with the revealing of this information. The team could be without their first two picks for most of the 2016 season, as first-round pick Shaq Lawson is still recovering from shoulder surgery and not due back until at least October.

Bills | Reggie Ragland suffers injury    Fri Aug 5, 04:22 PM

Buffalo Bills LB Reggie Ragland (knee) suffered a knee injury during practice Friday, Aug. 5, but the team is not sure about the severity of the injury, according to head coach Rex Ryan. Ryan said he does not believe Ragland's ligaments were damaged.

Footballguys view: It was a non-contact injury, which is never a good sign. The team also lost backup ILB Kevin Reddick to an MCL injury. Former Titan second-round pick Zach Brown is one of the players who could pushed into action if Ragland is out for a while.
