Quick fantasy outlook: After a year of misses and then a year of blocked kicks, Washington released Gano at the tail end of the preseason in 2012. Gano resurfaced later in the season, replacing Justin Medlock, to play the final six games with the Panthers. His three misses were a pair of long field goals and an extra point. The Panthers have not brought in any veteran or big name rookie competition, instead opting to sign lesser known rookies Morgan Lineberry (Abilene Christian) and Jordan Gay (Centre College). Both of Gano's co-specialists remain the same as last year - long snapper J.J. Jansen and holder/punter Brad Nortman. The trio will be relying on opportunities from the offense guided by new coordinator Mike Shula. The Panthers climbed to 18th in kicker scoring opportunities in 2011 after having been in the bottom third in 4 of the 5 previous years. Last year it was back to the bottom at 31st.
