The Indianapolis Colts placed RB Donald Brown (ankle) and FB Robert Hughes (knee) on the Injured Reserve Tuesday, Dec. 11, and re-signed RBs Deji Karim and Mewelde Moore to the active roster in corresponding moves. Also, the team signed free-agent RB Davin Meggett (Texans) to the practice squad and released RB Alvester Alexander from the practice squad. OG Justin Anderson (undisclosed) was placed on the practice squad injured list.
| Footballguys view: Without Brown in the lineup we'll see the team continue to feature rookie Vick Ballard as the lead back. Two of the next three weeks the Colts face the tough Texans rush defense. That makes Ballard more of a low end RB2 or flex play in week 15 & 17. However, in week 16 (fantasy championship) the Colts face a weak Chiefs defense. Ballard could help you win your title if you can make it through this week. |

Donald Brown and Delone Carter are competing for the starting RB position, but Moore could serve as a valuable change of pace back. He's not the same player he used to be, but is more than capable as a runner and receiver out of the backfield. |
