Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins went 16-for-27 for 170 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Green Bay Packers in Week 14.

Footballguys view: Haskins got a little banged up in this game, at times not putting weight on his ankle, but kept fighting and almost got his team back in this one. He'll face the Eagles next week.

Redskins | Dwayne Haskins poised for big game?    Sat Nov 23, 10:16 PM

Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins faces the Detroit Lions in Week 12, and the Lions have allowed at least two touchdown passes in each of the last six games and have a league-low three interceptions this season.

Footballguys view: This will be a good test of which poor unit has their deficiency asserted more. The Lions pass defense will get a green rookie, but Haskins will get a passing defense that has been exploited lately.

Redskins | Dwayne Haskins earns promotion    Mon Nov 11, 02:34 PM

Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins has been named the starting quarterback for the remainder of the season, according to interim head coach Bill Callahan.

Footballguys view: That's the only move that makes sense for Washington. Haskins is rough around the edges as a quarterback but he needs time and experience starting in the NFL if he's going to be their franchise quarterback.

Redskins | Dwayne Haskins expected to keep starting job    Wed Nov 6, 08:34 PM

Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins is expected to be the starting quarterback for the team's Week 11 game, according to sources.

Footballguys view: The team is going forward with Haskins as the starter, which at least will give the next head coach some more pro film to evaluate his strengths and weakness and craft a scheme and surroundings to suit him. It won't be great for his college teammate Terry McLaurin despite their experience together, because Haskins hasn't proven to be as effective a passer in the NFL (yet) as Case Keenum.

Redskins | Washington not ready to name Week 11 starter    Mon Nov 4, 03:15 PM

Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins isn't a lock to make a second straight start following his team's Week 10 bye, according to head coach Bill Callahan Monday, Nov. 4.

Footballguys view: Haskins wasn't terrible in Week 9 and Washington has a bye in Week 10. We'll see if we get clues when the team resumes practicing next week. Callahan said Monday, Nov. 4, he'll take his time and make an announcement after the bye.

Redskins | Dwayne Haskins held to 144 yards    Sun Nov 3, 03:14 PM

Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins went 15-for-22 for 144 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions against Buffalo Bills in Week 9. He also rushed for 14 yards on three carries.

Footballguys view: Haskins was only marginally successfully, albeit against a tough defense on paper. If he has to start after the bye, one hopes he'd be better prepared, although this offense is going to emphasize the run anyway. He doesn't appear to be able to support Terry McLaurin's early season value.

Redskins | Dwayne Haskins to make first career start    Fri Nov 1, 02:06 PM

Updating a previous report, Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins was named the starting quarterback for Week 9 against the Buffalo Bills on Friday, Nov. 1.

Footballguys view: This is a hit for his collegiate teammate Terry McLaurin and really the whole Washington offense, not that it was that robust to begin with. Haskins has looked overwhelmed in previous stints during the regular season.

Redskins | Dwayne Haskins taking top reps    Thu Oct 31, 01:42 PM

Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins was first among the team's quarterbacks for the second straight day Thursday, Oct. 31, in taking reps in individual drills.

Footballguys view: Case Keenum is still in concussion protocol, although he has extra time to get out of protocol compared to a typical week because he played on a Thursday last week. If Haskins starts, the Buffalo D/ST becomes an even better play.

Redskins | Dwayne Haskins not ready    Fri Oct 25, 11:41 PM

Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins 'needs a little bit more work,' according to head coach Bill Callahan, and Callahan said the plan is for Haskins to continue to serve as the backup.

Footballguys view: Everyone say it all together now "Haskins is not ready!" Yeah, we get it...and we see it. Haskins has talent but he's not ready to be a full-time starter in the NFL. Washington is atrocious but they won't turn things over to Haskins just yet. We expect he could get some starts near the end of the regular season.

Redskins | Dwayne Haskins does nothing in relief    Fri Oct 25, 01:10 AM

Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins completed three of his five passes for 33 yards after taking over for QB Case Keenum (concussion) at halftime of the team's Week 8 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He also threw an interception.

Footballguys view: Haskins didn't do anything to change the idea that he probably isn't ready to start yet.

Redskins | HC seeing growth from Dwayne Haskins    Wed Oct 16, 11:58 PM

Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins took all the first-team reps in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16 with QB Case Keenum (shoulder, foot) missing from practice. Interim head coach Bill Callahan said he is starting to see growth from the rookie.

Footballguys view: Haskins could start this week against the 49ers, but is that really the defense you would want him to face in his first NFL start? If Keenum can play it will probably be better for Haskins' college teammate Terry McLaurin because Haskins will be overwhelmed.

Redskins | Dwayne Haskins takes first team reps    Wed Oct 16, 03:24 PM

Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins took all the first-team reps at practice Wednesday, Oct. 16, with QB Case Keenum (undisclosed) sidelined.

Footballguys view: We could see Haskins inserted as the starter in the near future. Washington needs to take a look at their 2019 first-round pick but they don't want to set him back (at least that's what they're trying to sell the fan base). Head coach Bill Callahan said he's starting to see growth from the rookie signal-caller.

Redskins | Dwayne Haskins the backup for Week 6    Fri Oct 11, 09:04 PM

Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins will serve as the backup to QB Case Keenum against the Miami Dolphins in Week 6.

Footballguys view: Keenum should be able to take advantage of a bad Dolphins defense. Perhaps if Washington gets a big lead, we could see Haskins get some garbage-time work. Or, perhaps Washington could insert some packages for their 2019 first-round pick.

Redskins | Dwayne Haskins not a starting option    Mon Oct 7, 04:20 PM

Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins will not be a candidate to start in Week 6, according to interim head coach Bill Callahan. QB Case Keenum or QB Colt McCoy will be the starting quarterback against the Miami Dolphins.

Footballguys view: The team has stressed they won't rush Haskins and they need to be patient with his development. If he's not starting against the hapless Dolphins, Haskins may not be starting at anytime in the near future.

Redskins | Washington unwilling to name starting QB    Mon Sep 30, 03:12 PM

Washington Redskins QBs Case Keenum, Dwayne Haskins and Colt McCoy will all be evaluated through the end of practice Wednesday, Oct. 2, as head coach Jay Gruden is 'not sure' who he will start in Week 5 against the New England Patriots.

Footballguys view: Haskins is their first-round pick and quarterback of the future, but this is a bad matchup for the rookie. We'll see if they throw Keenum out there in this tough start and perhaps replace him with Haskins if/when the game is out of control.

Redskins | Dwayne Haskins tosses three INTs    Sun Sep 29, 04:19 PM

Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins came on and went 9-of-17 for 107 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions in Week 4 against the New York Giants while adding 23 yards on two runs. After the game, head coach Jay Gruden said he wasn't sure what he would do for his starter going forward. 'You're not handed the keys because of where you're drafted. You have to earn the right,' Gruden said.

Footballguys view: Haskins didn't exactly rejuvenate the Washington offense, although they were missing his college teammate Terry McLaurin, who has been the brightest light in the offense by far. Starting against New England next week would probably just embarrass him and not aid his development.

Redskins | Dwayne Haskins takes over as starter    Sun Sep 29, 02:06 PM

Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins replaced QB Case Keenum as the starting quarterback during the Week 4 game.

Footballguys view: This was coming sooner or later. Haskins would face New England in his first NFL start if it sticks, so maybe Washington should consider delaying naming Haskins the starter.

Redskins | WAS had considered activating three QBs    Sun Sep 29, 08:38 AM

The Washington Redskins briefly considered making three quarterbacks active for Week 4's game against the New York Giants but are now expected to dress only two QBs. The team's current plan is to have Case Keenum start, with Dwayne Haskins backing him up and Colt McCoy being declared inactive, according to multiple sources.

Redskins | Dwayne Haskins logs some first-team work    Thu Sep 26, 09:34 PM

Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins took some reps with the first-team offense during practice Thursday, Sept. 26, but is expected to remain the backup to QB Case Keenum against the New York Giants in Week 4, according to head coach Jay Gruden.

Footballguys view: Haskins might be behind a healthy Colt McCoy too. We should see Haskins start by the end of the year, but it might be later than sooner.

Redskins | Case Keenum on path to starting job    Tue Aug 13, 07:58 PM

Washington Redskins QB Case Keenum is on a path to being named the Week 1 starter under center, according to Rick Snider of The Washington Post, Tuesday, Aug. 13. Colt McCoy (undisclosed) sat out Tuesday's practice due to what head coach Jay Gruden called soreness. Rookie Dwayne Haskins has still looked 'like the rookie he is,' according to Snider.

Footballguys view: Keenum can be the starter at the beginning of the regular season, but we don't think he lasts in that spot for very long. Haskins is the QB of the future and head coach Jay Gruden needs to win...or at least show that he can win/develop with Haskins...if he wants to keep his job.

Redskins | Dwayne Haskins has work to do    Sun Aug 11, 09:27 PM

Redskins | Uneven start for Dwayne Haskins    Fri Aug 9, 12:47 AM

Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins completed eight of his 14 pass attempts for 117 yards and two interceptions and rushed twice for 17 yards in a 30-10 preseason loss to the Cleveland Browns Thursday, Aug. 8.

Footballguys view: Haskins looked not ready to start Week 1 by some accounts, but he did look good on rollouts, a staple of this offense. He will definitely start by the end of the year unless Washington is somehow a playoff contender.

Redskins | Colt McCoy atop 1st depth chart    Sun Aug 4, 06:16 PM

Washington Redskins QB Colt McCoy is listed as the starter under center on the team's first depth chart. Case Keenum is slotted in as the backup and rookie Dwayne Haskins is the third-strong quarterback.

Footballguys view: This should come to down preseason performances, but unless Haskins is overwhelmed, the best plan is actually let him learn on the job and allow his line and receivers to get as much experience as possible with him. Splitting camp and preseason reps will only slow his development.

Williams, team president Bruce Allen and owner Dan Snyder are also likely to have some input on the situation.
