Cowboys | Danny Coale sits out practice    Mon Jul 22, 04:56 PM

Dallas Cowboys WR Danny Coale (knee) did not participate in practice Monday, July 22.

Footballguys view: Coale blew out his knee last November. The team expected him to be ready for the start of training camp. Coale will be eased in when he's ready so they don't re-aggravate his knee injury. He's competing for a spot on the depth chart behind Dez Bryant and Miles Austin. We like Dwayne Harris and rookie Terrence Williams (Baylor) more than Coale even when he's healthy.

Dallas Cowboys WRs Cole Beasley, Danny Coale and Anthony Armstrong are expected to compete for the No. 5 wide receiver job during training camp.

Footballguys view: Beasley is a classic slot receiver, while Armstrong is a journeyman deep threat, and Coale is a former fifth-round pick who battled injuries and has had to scratch and claw stay in the Cowboys organization. Coale is the most talented and worth a look in very deep dynasty leagues if he can make the team.

Dallas Cowboys WR Danny Coale (knee) is not participating in the team's rookie minicamp because he is still recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament. He should be able to participate in offseason workouts and minicamp in June.

Footballguys view: Coale needs to get healthy and show what he's got. He's on the roster bubble this year after the team added WR Terrance Williams in the 2013 NFL draft. Williams, Coale, Dwayne Harris, and Cole Beasley will compete for targets behind Miles Austin and Dez Bryant.

Cowboys | 10 signed to future deals     Mon Dec 31, 06:56 PM

The Dallas Cowboys have signed DT Brian Price, CB Vincent Agnew, WR Tim Benford, DE Ikponmwosa Igbinosun, CB Micah Pellerin, LB Brashton Satele, TE Andre P. Smith, LB Monte Taylor, WR Danny Coale and QB Nick Stephens to future contracts. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Deep dynasty league owners should keep two of these players on their radar. We like Tim Benford in deep leagues because of his speed, quickness, and run after the catch ability. Danny Coale flashed playmaking ability in the open field earlier this year and could be more involved in the offense if he continues to impress.

Cowboys | Danny Coale suffers torn ACL     Sat Nov 17, 02:45 PM

Dallas Cowboys practice squad WR Danny Coale (knee) suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament during practice Thursday, Nov. 15.

Footballguys view: A rough rookie season for Coale comes to an end here. A fifth-round pick from Virginia Tech, Coale spent this year on the practice squad after getting cut after training camp. Hamstring and foot injuries (and now this knee injury) kept Coale from showing off his full potential. He's expected to be back for offseason workouts, but his dynasty stock in deep leagues is low after this latest injury.

Dallas Cowboys WR Danny Coale is unlikely to make the final roster; however, the team is hoping he clears waivers and be available for the practice squad.

Footballguys view: Coale's foot injury held him back in the preseason. He's competing with Andre Holmes for the final spot on the depth chart. Coale offers slot WR ability and special teams work, while Holmes has the size advantage. Neither have been outstanding during camp and preseason.

Dallas Cowboys WR Danny Coale (foot) will not be cleared to practice until early August because of a stress fracture in his foot that required surgery in May.

Footballguys view: Coale could begin training camp on the PUP list until he is ready to practice. It's a setback for the rookie as he is in line to compete for the WR3 job vacated by Laurent Robinson. Dwayne Harris and Kevin Ogletree are his main competition for the position.

Dallas Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins (shoulder), OG Mackenzy Bernadeau (hip) and WR Danny Coale (foot) are expected to begin camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

Footballguys view: A big setback for the rookie Coale here. He's competing with Kevin Ogletree and Dwayne Harris for the WR3 job behind Miles Austin and Dez Bryant.
