Summary

Ware was one of the many splashes the Broncos made this offseason to try to improve their defense. The 31 year-old pass rusher was once one of the truly elite defenders in the league but his production fell of drastically in 2013. Ware poster double digit sack totals (including 20 in 2008 and 19.5 as recently as 2011) in every season from 2006-2012. In 2013 he played 13 games due to injuries and got to the quarterback just 6 times. Ware has seen his tackle numbers fall each of the last three years and may be better served at this stage of his career solely as a pass rusher. If Von Miller is healthy and on the other side of the field it would help Ware greatly. (May 16)

Broncos | DeMarcus Ware sitting out (Wed Jul 30, 02:20 PM) - Denver Broncos DE DeMarcus Ware (leg) is not participating in practice Wednesday, July 30.

Our View: Ware's injury is minor, but you'd prefer to see him not showing his age this early in camp. Adding his ability to generate knockout plays as a pass rusher was part of the Broncos offseason response to a bitterly disappointing blowout Super Bowl loss.

Broncos | DeMarcus Ware feels better (Fri Jul 18, 10:51 AM) - Denver Broncos DE DeMarcus Ware said he feels better entering the season than he has in two years. 'I feel better than I did the last two years going into the season,' Ware said. 'Stronger, faster. I feel flexible.'

Our View: Ware still showed he had plenty left in the tank during Denver's OTAs and minicamp. He struggled through an elbow injury last year with the Cowboys and finished the year with only six sacks. With a fresh start in Denver, we could see Ware get back over double-digit sacks in 2014.
